  1. Why not just leave it the way it is? Does postcount really mean that much? Not to me anyway. Otherwise why not just let us do our own titles (say if we have over 100 posts)? I'm sure we'd all appreciate it.
  2. I've seen that owl loads before but never really understood the significance.. :S Just simply a way of saying 'Oh really?' probably.
  3. The controls were excellent. Very very well thought out and implemented.
  4. The trailers weren't funny, although they were cool looking. The spider pig gag was the worst offender, joke wise, it just wasn't funny. It was like they had two bags of words and to make a gag they picked out a word from each bag, in this case 'spider' and 'ceiling'. I did like the 'I was elected to LEAD, not to READ' line though. I expect the film will be average. The series hasn't been good for years and if they can't make the trailers funny I don't hold much hope for the film. Still, we'll see eh.
  5. To be honest Ant, you're probably half right. Yes if my PC was top of the range Vista would run much quicker but it's not just that. I find that Vista is awful usability wise. Half of the stuff I mentioned up there as to why I don't like it ^^ isn't based on the speed of my machine. Very glad you like it though Ant, but personally, it's not for me. I just find XP more stable and usable. In a year or two when SP1 and 2 come out it'll be worth a better look.... Feature wise there's nothing on Vista that I'll miss by going back to xp. Maybe SOME of the fancy graphics and the vector icons but that's it.
  6. I think they'd been changing Zelda since OOT was out, until they made TP which as you say was far too formulaic
  7. Gadgets, widgets, WOTEVA. Another thing that fucks me off is the fact that even something as simple as deleting something is this long involved process of calculating file size, and then showing the transfer to the recycle bin. In XP deleting things was instant and done without all the 'bloat-ware' I think it's called? And don't get me started on "Flip 3D", I mean what the feck is that. Talk about putting lipstick on an ugly donkey. Who in gods name uses Flip 3D. I know a lot of people love Vista but it's not for me at the moment, XP is infintely quicker and more stable and just for functional. I might miss the automatic searching but apparently Google Desktop does something similar and can be run on xp so I may have to look into that. I'm sure it'll get better once SP1/2 come out, but for now, XP for me thanks.
  8. Well I definately plan on playing MP at some point just to see what all the fuss is about. LOL great line. They definately need to change the series for Wii (?) Zelda. Definately a good thing they're taking their time with it.
  9. It's lots of things really, the delay to open windows explorer, the fact that there's no PROPER media player classic, this new windows explorer sucks arse, aero is disgusting, the start menu is a step backwards, the search function is no where near as good as spotlight on OS X, folder loading times take an age, the desktop is buggy, the sidebar is as pointless as gadgets are on OS X ie, very, it takes eons to load or shutdown, seems very bloated, a couple of hardware/software isn't working on it, the volume function (yes, that) is crap, the way it eats up space on your HD is pathetic, oh and did I mention the new windows explorer is horrible to work with!!!! And when I think about it, there's hardly ANY features in vista that I'd miss on xp. The search facility possibly, but then there's Google Desktop for that. Having images show up as thumbnails on the desktop is cool. And ermmm... a couple of things visually in aero is nice but apart from that... XP is fantastic and I shall load it up again and my workflow will actually increase rather than decrease.
  10. I tend to stick to a core group of games to be honest. Mario, Zelda, Starfox, Mario Kart and the odd few from here or there. Not played any in your list properly, except Smash Brothers which is fun but more of a party game I find. Starfox Adventures I think is hugely under-rated. It had a lot of very clever puzzles that wowed even me when I compare it to Zelda. Obviously it didn't have much depth and the story was completely linear but it was still very very fun and challenging. A fantastic game with jaw dropping visuals.
  11. Metroid just seems really boring to me, really 'empty'. I need to play it properly though to judge. Zelda on the other hand is the greatest video game series ever made :P
  12. Nah I'm going back to xp. Well that was a waste of £60.
  13. 1. Wind Waker 2. Mario Sunshine 3. Starfox Adventures
  14. No because it was a fantastic game 2:1 to Zelda. To be honest, I sort of expected Zelda to be winning by a tad more. Didn't realise how popular Metroid was...
  15. Yes I turned off the fugly glass effects. I'm not saying it's murderously SLOW as such, just that it's hardly fast and definately not quicker than XP. At least on my machine. Will get another gig of ram anyway.
  16. What processor though? I'm running 3.1GHz P4. Wiped my hard disk (properly) and installed an OEM version so nothing could really have gone wrong...
  17. Actually I think Vista's design is fugly as **** but apart from looks I like it though speed is an issue, simple tasks like opening media player classic, or firefox seems much slower than on XP. Will probably be better when I get used to it, just hope the speed somehow improves. Thing is I've hardly installed anything so if it's slow NOW...
  18. Bugger just realised my copy of Office 2007 is a beta. Sigh, if only someone had a *cough* version of Office 2007.................
  19. That's alright then Think my processor is P4, 3.2 or something, bout 3 years old... - will prob get a new computer in a year or so anyway.
  20. Did you just call me a noob? :| I know but I thought I could get by with only 1. So you would suggest 2 then?
  21. A slight hitch at the beginning. Basically it wouldn't let me install because I had two hard drives connected; but all I had to do was take one out, install it to C; then install the second HD once Vista was installed. Took about 30-45mins in all. As I said in the vista thread though, I need more than 1gb of ram, it's not running as fast as I thought it would. But then I only have a P4 processor.
  22. I really need more than 1gig of RAM...
