The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Sheikah replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
$80? I'll take four. -
It's pretty silly. They had a great chance to reveal this ahead of the leaker.
-
No I mean that the Wii U for instance has loads of icons displayed on the screen like an untidy desktop computer. Just a really outdated system that doesn't benefit the user at all. It looks like Nintendo are getting with the times though and adopting the crossbar menu (two rows of icons). Which coincidentally, is much like what the PS4 has. :p It's personal preference of course, but so long as it's clean and simple and still easy to use them that's all good by me.
-
I'm quite happy with the clean look of this OS compared to the cluttered icon layouts of Nintendo's past home consoles. I'm hoping it's still fast when you call the OS menu up mid game.
-
They don't need far more use. They're great as they are. I don't play games thinking that they'd be more useful if they gave me some discount after I cleared them. Same as when I work towards a trophy.
-
I really don't. The point of them is to provide enjoyment, thus they have a use. It's the same as the games themselves. They have no use other than to provide enjoyment.
-
You contradicted yourself there - their use is the same as the games themselves; to provide enjoyment.
-
I don't care whether they announce it, just that they have it. Would like to see Nintendo get with the times with regards to online.
-
If you're 'not supposed to' be doing it then why do Sony allow it. They allow you to have different profiles on your system with different region PSN accounts assigned to them. If Nintendo are really making this region free then by all means we should be doing it.
-
On PS4 I have created another user profile with a different, foreign PSN account associated with it. If I log in as the foreign account and download a foreign game I can play the content on my main PSN account even though I downloaded it on a different account. I'm pretty sure I can log in on to different PSN accounts on the same user profile too (I could on PS3). I just keep them separate for convenience.
-
This is basically fine so long as you can log back into your main UK profile with a UK Nintendo account and still play the games you bought on a foreign profile and Nintendo account. The manual linking thing leaves me a bit worried that Nintendo don't want to do this (since they might be limiting how often you could link and unlink a given profile with a Nintendo account). If not, and you need to play the foreign downloaded games on the Nintendo account you bought them, there'll be no online play (since your subscription will be on a UK account) or access to your currently logged friends/achievements while playing the game, which sucks.
-
No it says you can't just log out of your Nintendo account as a user and log in as another, rather you must actively 'unlink' it from a Nintendo account and then 'link' it to another (it also says the amount you can do this may be restricted). It also doesn't say what will happen regarding multiple user profiles on one Switch. On the PS4, if I log into another PSN of a different region I can download a game, then log into my normal PSN and play it. This way, I can carry on talking to my friends and earning trophies on my main PSN account while playing the foreign-obtained game. No word if the Switch can do this. As an example of how this could be a problem, see the Vita.

Actually this doesn't sound quite like what the competition is doing. As a user on my PS4 I can log in to different PSN accounts (e.g. different region accounts - seemingly you can't do this according to point 3 of what that says). Unless you setup a different user maybe...? But then I wonder if you can play games on a different user to what they were downloaded on (thinking about purchases from other region stores here). In fact it says you must actively "link" your Nintendo account to your user profile (point 1) in order to use it, and actively "unlink" it if you wish to use another Nintendo account with that profile (e.g. a Nintendo account from a different region to get other store content). That makes it sound like a hassle (and potentially restricted on the number of times you can do this) if you wanted to grab content from another store (with a different Nintendo account). Unless I'm missing something.

I've seen him on my friend's list playing it on PS4 so I would assume that's the version he's referring to.
-
Can somebody explain what this means?
-
Ha, quite. :p
-
They're the "multiplayer kings" if you basically ignore online multiplayer and having a decent number of recent multiplayer games, and thus anything that might potentially make them eligible for that title.
-
This game sounds like something I definitely need to pick up. Just playing an awful lot at the moment...
-
Nah they do a lot. And their main business model centers around providing credit. Zelda + Switch is £330 on Very anyway so not sure where Stuwii got that from.
-
Taken from Goafer's post in the other thread: On a separate topic: Very have notoriously bad policies/customer service. I wouldn't use them for a console you were hoping to get on release (in fact, I wouldn't use them at all).
-
If it can't do FFXV I see no reason why it will do the VII remake. VII remake is coming out later than XV so it'll be at the very least just as graphically impressive as XV.

No idea what you're trying to say there Ronnie. They're indoors and you can't see the light source (you're not going to get proper shadows if the lighting is uniformly distributed). As for outdoors: Still think it's a good idea to base so much on a couple of screenshots?
-
He also keeps mentioning that the game has poor shadow effects. The characters in that screenshot are all stood on a lit floor. For reference to reality:

Ronnie reaps what Ronnie sows.

Have you actually read his posts? His argument is poor, centering around a cherry-picked screenshot. If you make poor arguments you will be called out. It's that simple. And if you do ever feel that the forum has become too 'unbearable', there's always the option to log out.
