Another point, the gang fighting and fighting in packs isn't limited to just black people. I see alot of racial prejudice in this thread, but one time in school(like i was year 12 or year 13), two guys from my year stuck up for their mate's little brother(couple years younger than us) cos he was getting started on by about 5 kids from his year. One of them, a right little shit who no one in the whole school liked, brought down his mates, family, all sorts, they had planks of wood, chains, picked some shit out of skips along the way, and they proceeded to beat the fuck out of these two kids from my year. I didn't see it, but I heard about it, both of the guys from my year had to go to hospital to be seen to, and had some real nasty cuts and bruises when I saw them. There wasn't any racism involved. Pretty much everyone involved was white too btw. Boo, where do you live? All I can see in your profile is England...

Despite living round here, the RA aren't anything big, and I barely hear much mention of them, but I googled them and came across this article from 2005, which says the original initals stand for Racist Attack. http://www.thisislocallondon.co.uk/display.var.637577.0.0.php

Right, the paper falls into Kent Messenger group, but doesn't seem to have a site of the articles on a site so I can skim the article off there. It's headline of the Bexley Extra headlined(and the bits underneath mini bullet points on front page); Gang victim lucky to live ...Black teenagers caught on camera punching and kicking a white teenager. ...Attackers say victim was making monkey noises and shouting racial abuse ...Attack could have "ended in death" without public intervention ...And without CCTV footage, the attackers may never have been caught. I think the point is to point out racism by blacks, and to prove the importance of CCTV. Bexleyheath shopping centre where it happened is just up the road from me, and it's a pretty busy place too, so it's quite shocking that this happened in the middle of a friday afternoon. Involved there were ten boys all aged 14 at the time and just one victim, members of the public intervened and broke it up. Just a few snippets, looks like it was friday the 13th then. Nobody involved has been named, due to their age and stuff that they can't. They apparently all pleaded guilty and have gotten 12month referral orders as it's first time offence.

MY local paper that came through the other day was headlined about racist violence, and how a load of black kids(kids, like around 14) had kicked in some guy in the middle of the broadway just up the road from me. I hadn't seen much about racism and all that in the news recently, and now two similar stories come at the same time. I thought things were getting better, and to an extent I still do, but this does put my mind in doubts. Either way, it isn't so much the racism alone that bothers me, it's the sheer brutality of these things. The problem is, one person goes so far, then the opposition matches and raises, it's an endless circle of viciousness and ends with big big trouble. Anyway, the story in question is soon to follow.

This is what I'm talking about, stop taking such a narrow minded approach with things and trying to pick on little parts of posts and taking them out of context. It seems to be what the majority of people arguing in favour of weed are doing, and actually pushes me closer and closer to no and it seems like nobody has the ability to properly read and comprehend what they're reading. Two prime examples would be your 'mis-education' comment, and Bluestar's stupid post about monkeys and bananas. He also did the same as you and didn't read my other post properly before getting himself worked up and posting.

Hopefully they will manage to do it in a way that appeals to both children and adults, it's the themes explored in the books that I think makes them so good, there's no way they can cut that stuff out and keep the film good.

I hate EMA, I hate it because I never got paid to go to school. I now hate you too. Stop whining that you didn't get your free money on time and apprciate your education for what it is.

goddammit! why did no one ever tell me sooner? its not like this is the first time i mentioned it! whats with the weird tags also. the brilliance of this is that I can go back and use it effectively. Also, here's a comic for any Runescapers out there. http://fr33st0ffplz.comicgenesis.com/

That's the sort of shit I'm talking about right there.

Wow, no shit, thanks for pointing that out for me. Clearly my post didn't get my point across at all. Yes, in theory you can OD on weed, and yes, it is more likely to die from alcohol poisoning than that. Both of these are beside the pont. It's also possible to die due to the fact you've been influenced by alcohol, but not with the alcohol as a direct cause. I am of the opinion this is also possible when under the influence of weed, that is what I mean.
-
When somebody says that someone has died due to an alcohol related incident, do you immediately start spouting off the facts and percentages of alcohol and how it can only kill you should you have a certain amount at a certain per cent in a certain time frame? Probably not. I know that the lethal dose to OD on weed is very extremely high, and pretty impossible to do, but that doesn't mean people can't die due to the fact they have been high from weed, just like it doesn't mean people can't die when they're drunk. Like I said before, I'm torn between both options, but I just get annoyed with how some people are trying to make their points in such a blindly biased way(some of you, not all of you). Thirtynine also raises the good point of it not actually being legal in amsterdam, which it isn't(i actually only learned this recently) but it is decriminalized(think thats the right term?) and controlled to an extent. I'd say yes to it being decriminalized and ending up like it is in amsterdam maybe, I dunno.

 What?! How DARE you! I can't believe you would say such a thing about child porn. No, I quite enjoy VG Cats, the death of the gamecube comic was so fantastic. Also, links to two aforementioned comics. Questionable Content - Quite good, nice to see how his art has evolved, updates week daily too, so nice and frequent. Overcompensating - I'm not sure if this is a 'popular' one or not, but as I understand it apparently had a slightly biggish part in bringing the knowledge of Snakes on a Plane to the internet. Wigu - A cute little comic about a little boy with a cool imagination written by writer of OC(as in above). PS Admins, this forum really needs a strikethrough feature to add to the repatoire of possible forum wit!You silly forums with your silly tags. Why not just make it s? I could have done a joke crossing through child porn and replacing it with VGCats! The moment has passed. PPS Everyone, Child porn is very bad and I do not approve of it in any way. I don't think I know how to spell repatoire either. EDIT:How the hell did that mad smilie pop up at the beginning of my post, I didn't mean to do it at all, but I'm going to leave it there now.

Sorry to hear it, this is exactly why I tried to tell you not to get your hopes up. Well, don't dwell, move on, and take it as a good sign. She was interested enough to give you her number, and that's a step, well done dude, you've had more bottle than some people.

Anyone else have trouble making conversation with workmates?
Rummy replied to Pancake's topic in General Chit Chat
Quite alot then! I can see why it's probably bothering you in that case, you're near full time hours it sounds! Where do you go for lunch breaks? Is there a staff room or anything? I'd say to hang out there more if there is, or wherever it is that every generally goes. A hotel sounds like a big place to be working, where staff are gonna be more spread out, in my job I'm constantly around people, other staff and patients, and when I used to work in GAME it was the same cos the shop was small so you can't really avoid talking to people usually. My last piece of advice would be to smile! Look happy, look friendly, smile and say hello to everyone you see, people who work in the hotel, even people who are staying(if you don't already :P). It may seem like something small and insignificant, but I think it'll help, and you've got nothing to lose. -
Sounds interesting, like the sort of thing I'd like, anyone know somewhere good that I can learn it online, or a decent book that I could use to teach myself? I find it ironic that when you're young and in school being forced to learn that you don't want to learn anything, yet just a few years on I find myself wanting to learn everything about anything.

I keep seeing welcomes, yet you registered in sep 2005, guess you're quite inactive? How comes? These forums rock! Anyway, how often do you work, full time? part time? lol, I think like that some times, everyone I work with is really nice. I'd have to agree with Shorty a bit too, if you manage to find some common ground/interest in something such as bowling/whatever, suggest going out sometime for a game? -
Just A2 Maths? Jesus Christ! Edit: Nurr...nurrr...excuse my braindeadedness. You clearly said further maths, which is what I suspected. I only did an A level in maths(nearly did an AS in further, but did psychology instead, good thing too! A2 got well hard). So you're doing a whole A-level in further? When I did my alevel I only did P1, P2, M1, S1, S2 and P3. I rocked most at M1, getting 100 UMS marks on it! I sucked a bit on the rest, and missed out on an A overall(due to P3 and S2 buggering me up) by just 6 UMS marks . I'd probably have cleaned up if I had M2 in place of S2 or P3 , I don't think Mechanics is considered as important though. I think the year after I did my AS year they changed the syllabus and started doing C for Core modules in place of Pure? Anyway, something I've wondered, have you done any D modules? Firstly, what does D stand for? Secondly, what is it actually about? A guy I knew was learning an AS in further outside of school, and mentioned he had to D at some point.

Do you tend to be working on your own alot then? I can see it'd be more of a problem if you've been there for a few months and not been too talkative, then suddenly came out of your shell one day. Like I said, work tends to be a topic that's constantly fresh, to an extent, depends how repetative your job is. How often are you actually in the company of people you work with? -

I work where my mum works, which tends to lead to conversations from people that i look so much like <insert family member here>. That's only a small part though, I tend to find it quite easy to talk to people in general, a bit more so at work too I think. It's weird, considering most of them are older than me, you'd think it'd be more awkward but it doesn't seem so for me. Where do you work, in what situation and doing what? You've got a ton of material right there; work. Talk about work, alot of people at work love to talk about work, or talk about how they hate work. Even alot of people who do that still like to talk about work outside of work. Work is quite a good topic of conversation for when you're at work. Weekend stuff, yeah, horrible question, only works to a point, and it is a general conversation starter and to be honest, you just don't care what they did with their weekend, you just don't want there to be silence. Other questions, how new are you? Is there anyone newer than you? How old are the people you work with, how old are you? How long you been working there? -
M3? S3? What level are you at? Is that Mechanics and Stats? What's FP2 and FP1? Sorry for all the questions, I miss maths and I don't get to do enough of it

Pfft, screw you kidman! You aren't above HDM! HDM is above you! It's so basic, but because it's so basic I don't understand why they can't stay true to it! I'm fairly sure I read somewhere, if not Wiki itself, that it was originally based around being The Golden Compass, but in the sense of my last post as in a pair of compasses(a compass) for drawing circles. It's to do with where he got most of his inspiration and that, I'll try and find it. EDIT: Got it here. I hear that again the reasoning was that the title was dumbed down for americans, like the philosopher's stone, because they wouldn't know what the Northern Lights were(or Philosopher in the previous case). I think it's utterly fucking stupid, and I hate this too. Damn americans! I bet alot of british readers(myself included) didn't know what the Northern Lights were when they first started reading, or the exact definition of a Philosopher, although in that case it had less bearing on the novel.

Just one major problem I have with these pictures I'm seeing of Nicole Kidman as Mrs Coulter. Isn't she supposed to have sleek, dark hair? Rather than bright golden blonde hair like that? The book says dark, and I actually imagine her with black hair, I'm fairly sure she's sposed to have dark near to black hair.

Leo Sayer? He's kind of like the guy I know who I said annoyed me in the Irrits thread. I like Shilpa, I want her to stay, she seems to be the centre of alot of news, not like that Jack fellow, who I'd forgotten was in there because I never see or hear him. Maybe he's left and no one even knows! Also, anyone with E4, watch the repeat of big brain tonight and see my lecturer as the consulted psychologist! Bit of a shock, expected it to be Jack, not Jackiey considering it was votes to save. I smell a fix by Big Bro, which according to the T&C on their site is entirely within their rights. As for Jade, calm down, it's not like she's just been shot. http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/nominations/terms-voting.html I'd hate to see what Jade'd be like if her mum died or something, cos she's already acting like she has. (I feel like the only person on the forums who cares about CBB...a bit too much)

Awesome dude, totally awesome! Go you! Woooooooo!

It doesn't sound like much was scrapped, considering they all seem to have generic names. Dissappointing for Wii though, it really needs to get some more 3rd party support/games in general.
