  1. NEW WII EXPERIENCE VIDEOS [NO REAL SPOILERS]: http://us.wii.com/soft_loz_tp.jsp DANTE, TOO SLOW, YOU'RE FIRED!
  2. When we do eventually get to see new details of the game, I'd like Little Mac [from Mike Tysons Punch Out on the NES] to be a playable character, would be perfect for the game.
  3. Won't happen. In the worse case scenario, you'll have a minority bitching about how the game is a disappointment and a few less copes of the game will sell thats it.
  4. This in essence is the very reason why this games going to be so fantastic. Previous Zelda games [particularly the 3D incarnations] in the series have borrowed heavily on one particular game in the series, [e.g. Majoras Mask the great game that it was, was heavily based on OOT and its existing fundamentals]. But with Twilight Princess just with what we've seen thus far with screenshots, movies and what not, we can already see it has taken the best elements/features of a number of games in the series and combining them into one ULTIMATE game with a considerable amount of new ideas to boot. This game features some of the most original aspects of a Zelda game seen in a long time [since Ocarina of Time with the innovative Z targeting mechanics] yet maintaining the classic fundamentals that makes Zelda the legendary series that it is. Rest easy guys, this game is gonna be one hell of an experience that you'll cherish for a very long time and will give the current mediocre game market a grand shake up.
  5. Super Smash Bros Brawl - 19856725/10 Super Mario Galaxy - 182356742/10 Metroid Prime: Corruption - 19248719/10 OH NO I'VE BREACHED THE RULES!!! I lose, just like this STUPID thread will once a moderator gets onto it.
  6. Hyperbole to the extreme.
  7. This games looking great, a definite purchase. In regards to this special character they're working on it's looking very likely to be Mario, but can you think of any FAMED franchises Tecmo has made in the past?
  8. Lock this thread so you [the individiual reading this message] can save a few valuable seconds of your life. It's pointless, it won't achieve anything.
  9. The concept behind GT: HD is stupid. You are effectively denied one of the key rights of being a consumer, "choice" as you are literally forced to purchase the additional content of the game or have a game that has next to nothing in terms of replay value and value for money, that is if you actually purchase GT: HD to begin with. If something like this were to be implemented into the Mario Party series, they would need to incorporate something that would provide the best gaming experience for all gamers, not just the demographic that has internet access and this is particularly important in light of Nintendos strategy of attempting to appeal to non gamers as a lot of these people within this target market that don't play video games aren't exactly technologically savvy, but as the point of not everyone having internet has already been raised I won't ramble on about that particular point. A better solution would be to provide a "complete" game for consumers so that people that don't have internet access can have a copy of the complete game but to also provide people with the opportunity and choice to upgrade the game if the developers choose to create additional characters, maps and what not either being free for consumers to download free of charge or for a small nominal fee through the Wiis virtual console service.
  10. Nintendo are certainly heading in the right direction theres no denying that. However there will be some "friendly fire" to themselves as in loss of sales with the pricing of the controller combination and this will have a temporary effect on the extent to which Nintendo can effectively spread/demonstrate their philosophy of "playing is believing" with the Wii. While I acknowledge that the Wii controller combination overall is a tad overpriced, there is justification to the Wii Mote having a SRP of $40US due to covering the costs of the advanced motion sensor technology and what not but I believe its the Nunchuck Attachment thats particularly overpriced. The pictures we saw the other day of it completely unassembled revealed how little there actually is inside it. Does the addition of an accellerometer in the Nunchuck attachment really justify the $20US price? Ideally, the Nunchuck attachment should've been priced at $10US, not $20US, to round off the total controller cost to an even $100AUD <-- NOTE: This derived cost is purely on the assumption that console games sold in Australia are twice the price of console games sold in the US (I.E. $50US -> GAME = $100AUS -> GAME) so that would in fact translate to the equivalent cost of the controller combination. This most certainly would've been looked upon more favorably with consumers thus making it more accessible to consumers that have the intention of purchasing additional controller combinations as it would've slightly eased the burden on consumers wallets. I'll probably just end up getting two copies of Wii Play with the Wii mote bundled in, sell the other copy on ebay without the WiiMote obviously making careful note of that on the item description page and buy two Nunchuck attachments separately. Alternatively, I can keep the additional copy of Wii Play and use it as an emergency Christmas present seeing that a number of my acquaintances will also be purchasing Wii consoles, although they'll get particularly cut at the absence of the WiiMote. But it's the thought that counts after all.
  11. & Perhaps could be our first true online gaming experience that we'll have on the Wii.
  12. Sorry, too little. You trying to rip us off or something?
  13. WHAT do you think? [Rhetorical question, answer is obvious]
  14. I have reservations about the validity of the Tony Hawk: Downhill Jam boxart, this game was said to have no Wifi functionality.
  15. I will be also keeping my GC, I have kept all other consoles all the back to NES, even the Virtual Boy as well. Have that sense of achievement that i've spent so much money on Nintendo, "Heres my game collection and i'm proud of it".
  16. Same, there was something particularly refreshing about watching Link drink Lon Lon Milk in OOT and it made you want to drink milk.
  17. Its not about what it will do to PS3s launch, its about selling additional units which could potentially draw some people away from getting a PS3 once the second shipment comes in and thats what counts as additional units sold = more revenue which ultimately contributes to their bottom line. The higher price is experimentation on Nintendos part, they'll adjust their price subject to demand vs supply of Wii consoles which would most likely be done around the launch of PS3 in Europe, Australia etc if demand has suffered as a result of the initial higher price. It does not matter that Nintendo are going for a differentiation strategy, the Wii is still a video game system, so its still in the same market as PS3 and Xbox360 and is therefore still a potential competitor even though Nintendo dismiss this very thought, its just that they are attempting to expand the market and attract non gamers AS WELL as traditional gamers. EDIT: Thanks Dude! @ Shino.
  18. Expect a $50US price cut on the Wii console [not accessories] in March 2007 to counter the PS3 launch in Europe, Australia etc.
  19. Nintendo are simply in their eyes relishing an opportunity, the price was deliberately set at $250 US after the delay of PS3 in Europe was officially announced to capitalise on the PS3s high initial price and shortages. They know people will still pay that price for the console with the shortages and higher price of PS3, all they have to do is drop their price as soon as the PS3 drops in price and they're safe, they won't RIP, the Wii will be the second console of choice for most people but their current strategy certainly won't grant Nintendo complete and utter market domination, far from it. We all know the price isn't great, but at the end of the day, just about all of us will pay it.
  20. Only if they have problems with their own hardware released. Otherwise, no.
  21. The current Wii games aren't necessarily indicative of the sorts of graphics well see on Wii for the duration of its life. The current games having less than spectacular graphics is in part due to Nintendo being unorganised on releasing the final dev kits and specifications of the console, leaving third parties having to assume the true power of the console and base their games on the console knowledge they had at the time which prior to a couple of months ago was rather limited. The graphics will improve over time as developers become accustomed to the console and adequate standards are reinforced to filter out sub par efforts. For now though, don't worry so much about how the games look and enjoy the "FRESH" experience that Wii will provide for us.
  22. Does anyone know with Wii channels such as the news and weather whether you'll have actual presenters in your specific region giving live updates through the Wii channels like real tv? For example, say you lived in London and selected the news channel, it would actually have presenters, both male and female of British descent reading the major headlines of that region. Or if you were in Japan and watching the weather channel you'd have asian weather meterologists saying the current weather in Japanese just like with real tv.
  23. Just had a nostalgic trip down memory lane and briefly played both Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and then compared it to the trailer shown recently, anyone that says that MP3 graphics are no better than the gamecube games are sadly mistaken, even in progressive scan. Based on whats been shown of course.
  24. Posting for clarification: Is the Wii region locked? Yes. Perrin Kaplan lies. <-- SOURCE: http://boards.ign.com/nintendo_wii_lobby/b8270/122250287/p1/?1 Seems like speculation, not fact, as it still hasn't 100% been confirmed or denied or has it?
  25. Both the gold and non gold versions < SMB: BB? Great, the final game shall make you ejaculate as well, TO THE EXTREME.
