I got to one interview ten minutes early and I was the last candidate to arrive! It's more about planning to be there early in case of any unforeseen circumstances cause you to be late. Also, getting there early and sitting down for twenty something minutes gives you time to relax and clear your mind before going into the interview (if you've travelled a long way). Not really that important, I've just always thought that it makes a good impression. I'm not saying it's essential by any means, but I'd wear a watch if you have one. This! Try to be subtle about it though, don't drink before every answer!

Diageo, that ain't going to work. Vote: EddieColeslaw I am Houndoom. My power is to ward off roleblockers. I use a ring of fire to surround the target. As a secondary effect, I can make pokemon evolve. Targets: Night 1: Forgot Night 2: Eddie Night 3: Cube Night 4: Jonnas Night 5: Jonnas Night 6: Jonnas Night 7: Jonnas Night 8: Forgot It's obvious who the mafia are now. Trouble is we can't ever get enough people to vote. Sigh.

Show a genuine interest in the work and the company. By doing proper research and knowing exactly how the company operates and knowing exactly what your job involves will demonstrate this to the interviewer. Prepare answers to questions such as "why do you want to work for us?" and "why do you want to work as a ...?" as these are asked at every interview in some form. For the first question, try and pick a unique fact about the company. Perhaps say that you talked to an employee at an open day (if this applies). For instance at my PwC interview, I said that I talked to a recent graduate and he said that PwC had the best training in the industry and this is what most attracted me to apply. With competency questions, just think back to your working life so far and try to think of genuine examples for each of the company's competencies. Bend the truth if you have to. But answer honestly. You want to come across to the interviewer as genuine and sincere. If you get asked a question that you haven't prepared for, take ten seconds to think of a good response rather than saying whatever comes to mind. Never say "I can't think of anything". Have questions ready! Try and pick up on anything the interviewer said and ask them to elaborate. For example my interviewer said that she moved from audit to consulting and I asked her why she moved and how easy it is to move sideways within the company. Get there twenty minutes early. Smile and make good eye contact. Try not to fidget. Lean forward in your chair rather than slouch. Wear a watch. But importantly, relax and be yourself. The interviewer will genuinely want to learn more about and find out whether you are the kind of person they would want to work with. Thank them for their time when it's over. Good luck!

Vote: EddieColeslaw And I haven't been killing anyone heroic.

Received a phone call from PwC today, I got the job! :yay::yay::yay: Over the frickin' moon. It starts in March so I have a few months to save up some money and hopefully go travelling. But in the meantime, I'm going to celebrate by playing loads of video games and drinking large quantities of booze.

I'm going to: Vote: The Peeps until we can think of someone better.

Cube, you targeted Tales last night but you haven't said what you do. You said the forging evidence thing only relates to your day power, i.e. it explains why you have a double vote. This seems like kind of convoluted logic to me. But am I right with what you've said so far? Currently sitting on the fence about this one. We're basically relying on the word "corrupt" to mean evil.

Had my final PwC interview today. It went okay, the woman was really nice and friendly and we got on well. Now comes the horrible wait. I hope your dad gets better soon Raining.
-
Are those the exact words? Would like to hear what Cube has to say about this. Not sure what to make of the info about jayseven, it doesn't really tell us anything.
-
It kind of makes sense flavour-wise why Tales can't be targeted. I guess Franziska would use her whip to fend off anyone. Anything else to report?

I suspect the actual majority required to lynch someone might actually be 8 or 9. Either The Peeps has a power where it's harder for him to be lynched or the mafia are manipulating the votes (which seems likely as Jonnas can't vote).
-
Well would you look at that. The mafia are preventing Jonnas from voting. I wonder why.
-
Look at it this way. If Jonnas investigated me and found out I was evil, and I responded with "no I'm not", would you vote for me? If the town never voted in these situations, we would never win. Of course, if there were good evidence to show that the investigation was wrong then we would take that into consideration. Anyway, there's a few other reasons. There's seems to be little evidence that Jonnas was redirected. You claim to be Venusaur, despite the fact that he died at the end of the last game. Your character investigator role is more suited to the mafia than the town. People have been killed by Magical Leaf (I think), something Venusaur could do. And if you're truly town, I'd like to think that you would have accused or voted for someone by now, seeing as the town is on the verge of defeat. But those reasons aren't particularly strong. What matters is that you were investigated and found to be evil, which should be good enough for everyone.
-
Vote: No lynch
-
Can the town please come out and vote? The Peeps is evil. His defence is "I'm not evil, you must be wrong", without substantiating it. Jonnas investigated me and found me good, which is correct, so I have no doubts about Jonnas' investigations.

I think The Peeps is lying. Vote: The Peeps

Really? Perhaps the actors did their best, but the dialogue is simply appalling in those scenes. "Chancellor Palpatine is evil!" "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!" "I love you!" "LIAR!!" People seem to like the prequels because they're mesmerised by all the action and special effects. Strip that away and you find a weak story with dull characters, the only point to the plot being to tie one action scene to the next. The only good thing about the prequels is Ian McDiarmid. He's fantastic.

I finally got a part time job (sort of). I'm going to tutor my next door neighbour AS Maths and Chemistry for £20 a session. It's not much, but money is money and I'll still be getting my job seeker's. Maths is a doddle, but I'm currently swotting up on Chemistry as it's been over three years since I finished my A levels.

Finally we're getting somewhere. Vote: The Peeps

I guess there's not much else to do. Vote: chairdriver

I don't have anything. Annoyed that Cube wasn't protected last night, although if heroic was our only protector then fucked are we.

So it turns out PwC changed their AC so that the partner interview wasn't on the same day. The email was outdated and said I was doing the partner interview, I kinda should have listened to the HR woman on the phone closer. Felt a bit silly once I realised. So in the end my day consisted of just tests and exercises. The reason this is in good stuff is because I just received a phone call saying that I passed the assessments.
-
I've done a lot of prep already, probably even overdid it for the phone interview. Wikijobs has been awesome and thanks to them I know what to expect tomorrow. I've been reading the FT as well to get me clued up on all the current business affairs. But I take your point, I'll get off NE and focus on revising!

I've got my PwC Assessment Day tomorrow and I'm as nervous as hell. I've never had a long job interview before so it seems stupid of me to go for one of the big ones first. I've been looking for jobs since I graduated in July and I would love to get this job. Job hunting is depressing and I want it to be over. However I did get a phone call from PwC today and I asked them how my phone interview went and they said there was nothing wrong with it. This completely surprised me, I thought I did really bad! I was nervous and I felt like I was babbling incoherently. So that gives me a small boost of confidence.

Yes. I heart Phoenix Wright.
