I agree that they are low key stores, and I would not expect them to get much stock, but they told people specifically that the game had been delayed. I never said that it was fact, I merely listed a bunch of rumours and speculation that was doing the rounds at the moment. Regardless of what you say, the rumours alone have got everyone into a scrambled frenzy. Like I said before - we will all have a clearer picture by the end of the day today and hopefully things can calm down. So im willing to call a truce on this one and regret my earlier behaviour. There are (apparantly), I just pre ordered really really early. You seem to think that every wii game and accessory will be in plentiful supply come 8th december. I think you are in for a shock.

Woot! My Zelda is being 'packed' from play3k. Should have it tomorrow. But I wont play it without any component cables.
-
There is generally a lot of misinformation and speculation doing the rounds at the moment. everyone is anxious and on edge! We will no doubt have a clearer picture by the close of the working day today.
-
Agreed. However I dont appreciate being insulted and being called names just because I posted news from two freakin RETAILERS themselves that claimed Wiiplay had been delayed to all european retailers. This is obviously inaccurate info, or Nintendo have told them inaccurate info. I for one am glad as it increases my chances of picking one up tonight.
-
Heres my source - both of these are RETAILERS. I merely cut and pasted what they said. You want to fight someone? Fight THEM. Prick!: CHOICES UK http://www.thedvdforums.co.uk/forums...&page=17&pp=20 Also Play3k report the same http://www.play3k.com/features/news....N4577EB42E3C4B And ive already established that this could be false info. Dont shoot the messenger and quit taking things so personally. And dont fuckin insult me you dickless arsehole.

Who sold on ebay? I bought my component cable from a retailer, Goldenshop in HK - shame its 'lost in transit' though :-(
-
Probably just wait for an official one - quality issues. I actually imported a component lead from hong kong, last left hong kong 3 days ago, but has been classified as LOST in the post! Can you believe my luck??!
-
What lies? Its a combination of info and reports from customers and retailers themselves mainly complied from http://www.thedvdforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=449410&page=17&pp=20 and http://www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=273 Well Jordan claims that I am lieing about the fact that component cables have been delayed (amongst other issues), so if you can please tell us WHAT RETAILERS in europe currently have these cables in stock ready for tomorrow (or midnights) launch, it would be very useful.

Also Play3k report the same http://www.play3k.com/features/news.html?session=SB93B63D8D6DA5EEFDFE52C014897D1F8#N4577EB42E3C4B Im hoping problems aside, there will be plenty of wiiplays at tonights official launch at HMV. Still bummed about the lack of component cable though. I even imported one from hong kong but the trackable parcel is stuck in limbo and lost in the post (yeah right), so its a chargeback on my credit card for me and I will have to look elsewhere.

I GOT THIS FROM CHOICES UK http://www.thedvdforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=449410&page=17&pp=20 What part of that dont you understand. You think I enjoy making stuff like this up? I want wiiplay as much as everyone else for crying out loud.

I got this from choices uk. http://www.thedvdforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=449410&page=17&pp=20 So please dont shoot the messenger.

Nintendo have informed all retailers that their UK shipment of Wii Play has been delayed from Japan. There is a remote possibility that stock will be recevied tomorrow - more likely Monday.
-
from where? If its online - have the items actually been despatched? Sorry guys! Launch is driving me insane. Conflicting info, misinformation cancelled pre orders lost parcels. I JUST WANT MY WII, ZELDA, WIIPLAY, SPARE NUNCHUCK, CLASSIC CONTROLLER AND COMPONENT CABLES DAMMIT!
-
Today we have learned that there will be 1) NO Wiiplays 2) NO spare Wii-remotes 3) NO spare Nunchucks 4) NO component cables 5) NO RGB Scart cables available from any retailer on 8th December. Let the scrambling begin

To those of you who will be going to the GAME and HMV midnight launches on Oxford Street and have PRE ORDERED: What time are you heading to the store?
-
See. When I predicted a shortage of accessories and wiiplay, I was flamed on this very forum. Now we see that I was right, there will be severe shortages. Thats why I thought ahead and imported my Classic Controller, Extra Nunchuck and Component Cables from GOLDENSHOP on saturday http://www.goldenshop.com.hk/ and guess what, they are out for delivery to my house this morning. I have preordered wiiplay and zelda with my wii at HMV Oxford Street

Try reading my post before jumping all over it. This method WORKS. Furthermore it is used and reccomended by many in AVForums. WRONG Its not just for sound. Its for ANY Phono input. This can include composite video or component video. Obviously you will need 3 for component as component uses 3 seperate video inputs. Time for a little education: Cables - What are they? Component video cables are used for the transmission of component video, often referred to as YUV, YPbPr or YCbCr. The most common component video cables consist of three phono / RCA connectors each end with 75ohm coaxial cable used as the interconnect.
-
How is this a joke? This is a fact. A simple Y Splitter will allow you to double your component inputs with no loss of quality. Obviously you will have to buy 3 for your video input and an extra 2 for any audio input. At the end of the day a component plug is ANALOG and so a simple phono Y-Splitter WILL do the trick. This method is tried and tested.

HMV 150 Oxford Street London will be handling the OFFICIAL UK Wii midnight launch party in partnership with Nintendo Europe. I will be planning to reach Central London at aroun 5-5:30pm and grab a bite to eat. Then aim to be in the store for 7pm and join the line. The action kicks off from 11pm at HMV, 150 Oxford Street, London with the chance for everyone to come down and play launch game Wii Sports against top sporting celebrities including Ian Wright, Jodie Kidd, Pat Cash and Ricky Hatton. Wii is already shaping up to be the most hotly anticipated console launch ever seen in the UK with Amazon.co.uk recently revealing that pre-orders for Wii on its site ‘sold out’ within seven minutes of them being made available, making it the fastest-selling pre-order it has ever listed. In addition, retailers including Comet, Dixons and GAME have already announced that Wii is expected to be one of their top selling items this Christmas and demand is already expected to exceed supply. Those getting there early enough in the queue will be lucky enough to get their hands on their very own Wii consoles, games and goodie bags just in time for Christmas. Stocks are limited so get there early to avoid disappointment. In addition, the first 200 people purchasing the critically acclaimed launch title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii will receive a very special strictly limited edition The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess tin to store the game. Frankly, those could be a nice little ebay earner this holiday season for the lucky 200!

Dont worry Flameboy. Amazon will use parcelforce24 to ship your wii on 7th december. You WILL get it on December 8th, mark my words.
-
Anyone who has run out of component inputs can double them for only £9.21 using this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?TabID=1&ModuleNo=34195&doy=21m9 no loss of quality in the picture, and no need for an expensive component switcher. Only con is that you cannot have both component devices running at the same time, but if you are hooking up a games console or DVD player this is unlikely to affect you.

So where in the world has component cables in stock?
darthbane2k replied to danielrostron's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I really hope the UK online retailers come through with the component cables, otherwise there will be a lot of disappointed people on launch day stuck with composite. It all seems very uncertain. Game now claim 8th December as normal, yet play confirm unavailabilty at launch. Who knows.. *sigh* -
So where in the world has component cables in stock?
darthbane2k replied to danielrostron's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Cancelled my play asia order as it was taking too long being stuck on 'preparing order'. Found this little known Hong Kong exporter who have shipped my cables today along with a nunchuck and classic controller (HMV let me down for these). I used EMS speedpost meaning my cables will be with me by wednesday!! http://www.goldenshop.com.hk Try them - they DO have stock -
Thats only because you are forced to buy their horrible, horrible bundles. And if you want to get your wii with zelda, be prepared to buy a £300 bundle

The european Wii launch is looking to be a MESS
darthbane2k replied to darthbane2k's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Play.com are now cancelling preorders for component cables. Both Component and RGB cables have been removed from the play.com site.
