Damn! Im struggling to find time to play Zelda to be honest. Due to work commitments and by the time I get home the missus wants to watch the usual crappy soaps. Ive only just finished the forest temple and i've had the game for a week! To hear of you guys on the later temples and some having already completed the game depresses me.

Something strkes me as odd about tomorrows 'release' - first of all, retailers seldom recieve shipment of stock as late as the actual day of official release. So why have no retailers recieved any stock of these component cables in advance of the official street date? Secondly - I really hope you guys have preordered these cables, demand will huge..

A component cable on a SDTV will output in 480i or 480p (ED TV), however it will still look superior to RGB Scart even if not in progressive scan.

Perhaps someone can call Koch (Nintendo Europe's distributors) to verify this

50 USD = 26 GBP using todays exchange rates. Its a good option, plus you get an OFFICIAL NINTENDO cable. Why not get some cheap Classic Controllers or Nunchucks or Wii Remotes too while you are at it to justify shipping. All of those items work out to be just over a tenner each. The ordering system is fine. All you have to do is email the shop with your request and shipping option. They get back to you with a secure worldpay link to make payment. You get a tracking number before the end of the day. Furthermore they will gladly mark the item down to avoid customs. If you prefer to go the official UK release route then fine. But I went via the Golden shop route and I had my component cables from day one. Either way, I would avoid ebay and the dodgy 3rd party knock off solutions.

The link I provided are for the Official Japanese ones, imported from Hong Kong. Thats what I bought and had delivered within 2 days with EMS Speedpost, simply because I could not wait for the UK ones to be released. The japanese ones work fine in 480p 60hz and I have never had to have witnessed my Wii in dreadful composite.

Lets hope they are correct. Because the likes of Zelda SHOULD NOT be played with a composite connection. I still say import a component cable though - at least that way you can be sure.

No the Wii does not support 5.1, but it support Dolby Pro Logic II surround sound. In order to output in Pro Logic II , the Wii has to be connected to my surround sound system/reciever. I have heard that other people have had the audio distortion problem also..

Thats actually incorrect. RGB Scart cables are out this Friday. Component cables are out the week after (22nd Dec)

Another 'issue' I have is with the Wii Shop. Its music is INFECTIOUS. I simply cannot get it out of my head. I whistle it in the shower, I hear it as I wake it... its always there... ...yet ive not yet spent any of the 1000 Wii points I have bought on my creditcard.

Im encountering sound distortion in the mii channel music and the photo channel music and the disc channel music (eg the wiisports jingle). My Wii is connected to a 5.1 system. The sound crackles slightly and disorts as if im blasting it too high for the speakers to take.. yet im not. I finish work in 2 hours. Going to meet with an old friend in central London for a beer and a burger king. Then at 9pm meet with my brother and cousin and head to oxford st HMV. Although I pre ordered my Wii months ago, my brother went to HMV this morning and was one of the lucky ones who was allocated a wii from nintendos 'surprise' shipment.

Damn! I must be the only one who plans to go straight to sleep after I get home from the midnight madness! I dont know if I will have the energy to setup and play the wii. I just want to go to sleep knowing that I managed to nab one! Tomorrow morning however will be playtime!

Idiots. Im sorry but I have to say this. What makes you and your 'buddy' think this is YOUR parade? I too will recieve a Wii at midnight tonight. I too am excitied. I too have a pre order wish list. The only thing I did was report that a couple retailers announced europe-wide delays. That info proved to be wrong (Except for the component cable thing) and I accept that. So what in the hell is your problem?

Yes im bring up the blasted subject of COMPONENT CABLES again, but was thinking. It has been established that these cables have been delayed in Europe until next week or the week after. But do you think Nintendo will bring any (along with their suprise Wii shipment) to the HMV official midnight launch? Yes im grasping at straws.

I assure you I wont. Im sorry but I cannot play any RPG on a HDTV running through composite. The text wont be legible. I will be content with wiisports and wiiplay until my components arrive from being lost in the post, or until I can buy replacements and.. what was the point of that comment.
