Had my 360 for about a month now, and think it may have destroyed Gears of War. I got gears of war second hand in a bundle because they had sold out of new ones, every time I try to play it now it just comes up with 'xbox cannot read the disc properly, clean disc' or whatever the message says. The game worked fine for ages so is this just a case of my xbox destroying it? If so is it likely it will destroy other games and I'll have to get a replacement? Do you reckon if I takes GoW back to Gamestation where I got it and say its fucked they might be able to do something about it? Cheers.

Does anyone know if Gamestation have some sort of return policy? ie you can return a game within 10days or something? Because I don't think my pre-ordered version will come today so was going to buy it from Gamestation and play until my preorder which was cheaper.
-
Ordered today from HMV and got 10% student discount, so will save a tenner from going in to the sops. Hope I get it Friday, if not, waited long enough so a couple more days shouldn't make much difference.

My local gamestation said they would be stocking the game for about £37.99 however I am wondering whether I should bother pre-ordering it online for £29.99, save a bit of money as I'm way into my overdraft. Thing is, if I preorder from HMV today, will it be delivered for Friday morning? If not how long will I have to wait for it roughly? Considering just paying the difference and getting it Friday.

Hey. I'm looking into gtting a new MP3 for uni as my old one broke at the start of Summer. I used to have the Sony NW-HD1 which was 20Gb and I enjoyed it muchso. Not sure what to get next though as they don't make that anymore and the new Sony NW-A3000 doesn't look so good, and my brother had one and didn't like it. Enough of this jibbering what MP3/HDD player would you recommend and why? Thankyou please.

I see what you mean about Splinter Cell. Currently started it and it feels a bit meh at the moment. I finally took the plunge and bought Baten Kaitos using my £2 off voucher off blahdvd.com for £27.99. I thought I'm gonna buy it eventually may as well just get it now. Does anyone know how long they take to deliver?

Coursework at GCSE is not too bad from what I rember. The trouble I always have with any big piece of work is actualyl starting it. Once you start it and get a bit done, you get into that frame of mind to carry on and you realise it's not so bad. I'm in my second year of college and I don't have to do any coursework at all. I don't mind it so much cos I'm fine with exams. First year Physics coursework was pretty dull. Didn't enjoy it. The only courseowkr that would have interested me was in the second year where you research into your own thing (ie black holes) and write up a report. But I did not bother to take the second year.

Finished The Alchemist today. Was a very good read. I would recommend. Got a little crazy near the end though. Bought The Devil and Miss Prym off amazon for 0.01p so hope thats as good but i don't think it will be.

The story is great and involving though. Few twists and turns you might not expect! Buy it. I'm ashamed to say I traded mine in after I completed it.. kinda wish I didn't because it's easily one of my all time fave games!
-
Hey I don't hjave this game yet.. I'm currently lookin to buy it relatively cheap.. it's next on my list but I have a few other games to play first. Anywhos, I was wonderign how long it roughly takes to complete first time round? I like long RPGs. Also is the story better or worse than say ToS or Skies of Arcadia? Are there many twists? I alays like those. I reckon I should like it.. the card system put me off in the first place but many say it's one of the games best features. I prefer Skies... to ToS.

There was a time I think it did have it in. And then a couple of days later I realized and thought 'why didn't I buy it?' So I went back the next day but alas it was gone. I'm going to visit my brother at Cardiff Uni soon so I'm gonna try n not buy any games till then as there are many many games shops where I can no doubt pick up a bargain.. and hopefully Baten Kaitos.

Just finished Starfox Adventures. Nothing special. Found it quite boring and repetitive at times. I completed it in just over 13 hours. The best thing about it is probably the last boss battle which brought back fond memories. Took me 4 times though! Shocking. Just shocking. But fun nonetheless. 6/10 I'm not gonna complain too much as it only cost me a fiver. -
The official 24 thread (mark spoilers please thank you)

I'm currently watching the 4th season and it's good, gripping stuff. I have a small penis. My first testicle is scratched though and keeps coming up with an error. I'm on drugs and it's too scratched I could only watch half of the episode! Lesson to oneself... never sleep with mum again.. heh heh heh (yeah right). -
I finished Bill Bryson's Neither Here Nor There last night. Wasn't too impressed really.. few laughs, not as much as I'd have hoped for. All in all not really my kind of book, I didn't buy it so all is well. Just started reading The Alchemist by Paul Coelho. I'm finding it very enjoyable.. read the whole of part one and only stopped to hunt for food. I don't think it will take me too long to finish this. I have to say LOTR trilogy are my favourite books. Read em twice. Bought The Silmarillion but for some reason never finished it, it's more of an acount of the earlier ages than story. His Dark Materials are also very good books. Thoroughly enjoyed them.

What also doesn't help is that I live 2 minutes away from my town centre, so it's easy for me to pop in from time to time and have a quick look in gamestation or whatever. I now have Splinter Cell waiting in line. I want to finish Starfox Adventures first... but I kinda feel now I'm rushing the game to get onto the next. I'm not sure I even like Starfox that much so I expect I wil trade it in. Fair enough I will probably get £3 for it but that means I spent £2 for a game which is pretty good going whatever game.
-
Yup I expect that is what I will do. Gonna subscribe to ONM today. How long do they take to deliver the game does anyone know?

I recently spent a week in hospital upon having glandular fever. I got out 2 weeks ago and have had all that time at home to rest free from college. This is where the problem started.. with this free time I began to get more interested in my games again.. I picked up a copy of Super Mario DS and shortly my brothers bought me Yoshi Touch and Go as a get well present. 2 games in the kitty.. both should keep me occupied for a while. Was this enough? Nooo. The next day or 2 I went into town and bought Advance Wars DS. My DS was happy to be used a lot more.. but MR Gamecube was feeling lonesome. So, on one of my many trips to town I saw Starfox Adventures going for a fiver. Why not I thought to myself? Picked that up and I suppose it's entertaining enough. Nothing Special. Anyway, not stopping here, I have been browsing online for cheap games as I'm trying to get hold of a cheap copy of Baten Kaitos. Upon browsing I find Splinter Cell for a fiver. Bargain. Bought that. 5 new games with the space of about 5 days. I need to be saving my money as I'm goign travelling in the summer. I just can't help it though. I reckon I spend more time looking for bargains than playing my games!! It's crazy and sad but true. And tomorrow I'm going to subscribe to ONM to get a copy of Pikmin 2 for a tenner. And my quest for Baten Kaitos has not yet been fulfilled..... Sorry this post is a bit pointless but I thought I'd get this off my chest. I go back to college on Monday so hopefully my spending spree will stop....maybe.

Hey surely the wise thing for me to do is subscribe to ONM for a tenner, get what about 4 issues of the mag and the game! Can I cancel my subscription after the quater year? Or is there a sort of catch where you have to subscribe for a certain amount of time? Or will they automatically renew my subscription as has happened with Empire? I don't want to subscribe to the magazine for longer really as money is an issue, plus I get all my gaming info off the net. But if all is well and i can cancel my subscription with no qualms then I'm all for this!

Completed Resident Evil 4 for the second time last week and instantly started it again with new weapons and such straight after I finished it for a couple of hours. Such a great game its unbelievable. -
Hi. I'm not a n00b as such cos I registered awhile ago under the same name Harmonica.. but I haven't logged on in some time and my account musthave got deleted or I just forgot the password. Anyway, back to the point. Which game should I get? I've recently got back into playing my GC by buying cheap games that are no going around. I recently got Starfox Adventures and Splinter Cell both for a fiver. I plan on buying Pikmin next cos it's a great title I missed out on. However I hear Pikmin 2 is better, and has a much longer play time (Pikmin lasting around 10 hours whereas Pikmin 2 lasting 30hours.) My question is whether I should bother skipping Pikmin which i can buy for around £6 and save that money and put it towards Pikmin 2 which i can pick up for around £20-£25? Cheers in advance.
