  1. Mass Effect is probably the best franchise of the current generation. While I am a die hard Nintendo fanboy, I think that the Wii has nothing on par with Mass Effect. And I'm not in any way basing that on graphics. All three games have their flaws, and I think that Retro Studios will do a much better job at adapting the game for the new features of the Wii U than EA/BW ever will. Just look at how "well" BW incorporated the Kinect into ME3.
  2. Go back and look at ME1. Many of the surroundings lack detail, the combat system is poor, the Mako controls are a mess, the planet surfaces feel barren and cheap (with plenty of cloned out buildings), the framerate isn't consistent, the loot system doesen't work, textures load in and out during gameplay like crazy, none of the weapons have any uniqueness to them... These were flaws that people saw in 2007. Now they can also compare the graphics to ME3 and see that the difference is staggering. It all sums up to a quite broken, but still fun game. Regarding that Retro haven't used the Unreal engine... Who says the remake needs to use the same game engine? Regarding that it's too soon for a Remake. The original Mass Effect is five years old now. When MGS: Twin Snakes came out, the original MGS was somewhere around seven years old. Give Retro the time they'll need, and ME1 will be about as old when the remake of that gets released.
  3. They're good at taking existing IP's and improving upon them, plus they're really talented with tech. I quite simply think that the improvements would be much more substantial than if BW were to make the remake themselves. ME is to me the one franchise that will make the current console generation memorable. As a matter of fact, I think the ME games are among the best if not actually THE best of the last ten years. And in Retro Studios skilled hands, they can be the absolute best once again.
  4. Wishful, awesomely unrealistic thinking:
  5. In all probability not.
  6. Nintendo have in no way confirmed that there'll be an F-Zero for the Wii U. We can "assume" it. Like we "assumed" the Wii would get F-Zero, Starfox and 1080. And we can much less assume that it's already in the works. In fact, we are going to propose that if Nintendo would want it, our game could with slight changes carry the F-Zero name.
  7. I'd like to think that I won't. But seeing how I love the ME games, I might buy it just because it's different and probably would have a new story.
  8. The flight game is currently supposed to include cold war era fighter jets. By the terrain being used I mean that players are supposed to be able to fly under bridges and through canyons to avoid enemy fire.
  9. As some of you may or may not know, I'm working as a game developer. My company is going to pitch two game concepts for Nintendo in a couple of weeks. We've thought of numerous different utilities for the Wii U tablet, but now I'm turning to teh internetz for ideas. The first game is an online focused flight game. The idea is for terrain to be a key component of the experience, unlike most modern flight games. Also, the idea is to use guns rather than missiles. The second game is a futuristic racer, sort of like F-Zero, but with a key gameplay mechanic I'm currently not at liberty to talk about. So, let your imagination run wild. Any help will be excellent.
  10. I think you misunderstood me. I LOVE the XBLA version of Perfect Dark. Those aditions are great, the only missing thing was drop-in online multiplayer. As is now, you start a quickmatch with 5 people, then three drop out and there's only two of you until the next match... and between matches there's usually fewer who join in than who previously dropped out.
  11. I do agree with you. ME3 for the Wii U would be a nice adition, although I wouldn't buy it atless Bioware do a lot of extra work. And as I've stated before, I have the fairly unlikely fantasy that Shepard could appear in Smash Bross Wii U.
  12. As much as I want this, I just think there's no point. Without the previous entries in the series, why should people want to play ME3? Espescially nearly a year after the games initial release? BW would have to do some graphical enhancements. If they were to make this port, I see one thing they MUST do. Put the Powers and weapons on the touch screen. Like I've previously stated: I hope EA buy the rest of the distribution rights for ME1 from Microsoft, so we can get a glorious remake of the whole trilogy. Perhaps complete with a prequel.
  13. I believe that they mapped reload and action to different buttons, plus they added the ability to access the secondary mode of your weapon with a single press of a button.
  14. I personally haven't considered any HD collection yet, apart from the Metal Gear Solid one, but that's just because I never had a PS2 or PSP. I'm also CONSIDERING Shenmue HD, but only because my Dreamcast is broken, and I want to show my support for SMIII. If I'm to buy HD versions of any Wii or GC games, the graphics must be enhanced way more than just getting a resolution change. Something more along the lines of the XBLA version of Perfect Dark:
  15. I was so happy when I found out that the original Black Ops was set during the cold war. When I saw this trailer, I realised that this game is a must NOT buy.
  16. 1.Predicting the MEGATONS of NINTENDO's E3 2012 conference Nintendo to bring back a long-forgotten franchise. F-Zero, 1080, Wave Race, Starfox, Excitebike or something else. New Wii U Zelda or Mario to be announced, with gameplay trailer. "Largest launch lineup in history" Nintendo using in-house resourses to develop "core" game, such as FPS, racing game etc. Reveal of a brand new super-exciting game by Miyamoto. 2.Outrageous claims Retro Studios to completely remake Mass Effect trilogy with more content (10+ hours per installment), better graphics, more dialogues. Plus Samus Aran as a bonus squad mate in the Limited Spectre Edition of the game. It's also possible to export your Shepard in to the next Smash Bros. Nintendo have bought the Perfect Dark IP from Microsoft (they did the same with distribution rights for ME). New iteration for Wii U launch. Nintendo announce "Nintendo GT" for Wii U and 3DS. Both games have interchangable save files. Sega announce Shenmue III exclusively for Wii U. 3.Predicting the aftermath Backlash due to lack of interresting games (same procedure as every year since ca 2006) Share owners want Nintendo to start making apps.
  17. I wouldn't say it's impossible. But I do agree that it's very much wishful thinking, very unlikely. On the other hand, did we really think that we were going to get MGS ported to the Gamecube before it happened? Or that Silicon Knights were the ones whom would do it? Did we ever think we were going to get an enhanced version of Ocarina of Time? Forget Banjo, I want Joanna Dark!
  18. First I was like: (0:58) Then I was:
  19. I'd say that most characters in Smash Bros either don't have the abilities they do in their own games, or they have abilities they don't in their own games. Shepard could either have a selection of abilities which is standardised, or you could ignore ability based attacks completely. All Shepards can use guns, all Shepards can use the Omni-Blade. Perhaps the abilities should be decided by what squaddie you've got selected (Tali= Drone, Liara=Singularity, Garrus= Explosive shot) This is true. However there is a sort of standard face which you see in all trailers. And if it's worth HAL's effort, why not make it possible to import your Shepards appearance from the Wii U entry of Mass Effect (which I hope will happen), or it's perhaps possible to import your Miis facial features somehow. It's even possible for Shepard to have his helmet on at all times. How exactly are the characters personalities reflected in Smash Bros? There's a TINY bit of personality that PERHAPS shines through in the Subspace Emisary, but not in the fights. Most of Shepards personality differences shine through via dialogue... but in SSM everyone was mute. Yet again, true. But what really prevents Me to appear on the Wii U? I'm holding my thumbs that Retro Studios will port a vastly improved version of ME1. Despite this, I believe that it'd be appreciated. I know that I want it. Hell, I'd pay to have this character as DLC. True. But as I've written previously: what prevents ME from showing up on the Wii U? EA are in charge now, so they'll probably port it for the Wii U as well. Or they'll make some kind of spinoff, prequel or midquel.
  20. I just don't get this point at all.
  21. Please do explain.
  22. If there's to be some Non-Nintendo characters, like Snake and Sonic, it has to be Commander Shepard (of Mass Effect fame). Both male and female of course. Perhaps he should be like a Pokemon trainer/Ice Climbers crossover. So Shepard has one of his squad mates with him at all times, and by pressing a button, he switches squaddie.
  23. Atless they completely reboot the franchise and make it less ridiculous (akimbo sub machine guns? Auto turrets?) and more story driven, I'll pass on this. I bought MW and haven't bought another CoD since.
