I understand what you're saying. The quality of games seems to be affected with the advent new technology, devs treat it more like a race and sometimes forget that point of the game is to grab your attention, play with your imagination and make you want to play it for 12 hours at a time, not just look good or have some interesting new quirks or technology. Gameplay is more important than people seem to give it credit for.

Why did they have to bastardize the plot so much? to me, hell was a large part of the doom series (in providing the cannon fodder). Its always with the testing and growing and the escaping and the screaming and so on. I think the owners of resident evil should sue their ass for attempting to rationalise Doom by using a previous plotline BUT on another planet, whats wrong with finding out that an alternate reality that exists in the for m of pure evil and chaos? damn good viewing id say. so to me, its only similar by name.

This takes me back to when i had doubts about the xbox lol. M$ has the power and resources to weather anything thats thrown at it. plus i lost all faith in the playstation brand a long time ago, others may have too. The fanbase that it gained before should have grown up by now, thats why i think theres so much critisicm of anything in todays market. the comsumers of today have a higher expectation of things. everthing has pros and cons, these days though, there will always be someone who's prepared to burn their own eyes out when saying somethings crap. But i wont be getting a ps3 lol
