  1. I honestly think the grey 'Wii' name/logo is fine. Simpple, effective, memorable. I currently have it as my background.
  2. I don't think Wii is the best name ever, far from it in fact. I was just like most others that said 'Holy Fuck No!!!!!!!!' when they first heard about it. Im not saying anyone is wrong for saying that they think it's the worst name ever; that's their opinion and they are entitled to it. All I suggest is let it sink in and they might like it more. : peace:
  3. People are moaning about others being so immature because we don't come here to listen to ppl continuously go on about it like 10 year old school boys would. Wii is no more retarded for a games console that the "X-Box" is.
  4. If they called it the Nintendo Us that would make people think of the USA. Not a good thing imo.
  5. FCUK stands for 'French Connection UK' (United Kingdom). It's the name of the fashion label plus the division, much like L'Oréal Paris or similar.
  6. I don't think Wii stands for anything. And I hope it doesn't either - it's more more effective as a name if it's abstract and, well... wierd. At first I laughed and then immediately cried. Painful memories flooded back from when the gamecube was revealed and all I could think was "handle... purple... ". But now I'm liking the name, alot. Excellent marketing oppurtunity, memorable name etc. Very unfortunate about all the 'piss-take' jokes :p (Sorry, but I just had to!). Ammo for Sony and Microsoft but I think it will work for Nintendo. So I'm happy! PS. It sure is a good thing that Nintendo didn't wait til e3 to reveal this - Kodak theatre would have been heart-attack-central for all Ninty lovers! Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii I'm lovin it!
  7. Thats a pretty interesting idea you have there, InvaderElmo! Never gonna happen imo : peace: but if it did, and was marketted right, it would be pretty class! "Mom, stop jogging through the woods with your friends, I want to play SSB!!!" lol
  8. I'm liking the sound of that!
  9. I'd prefer the table tennis game too. I think GTA is a great game but I don't like it much. Table tennis with the FHC would be class!!! And yet another sub-group of people join the Revolution.... Table tennis players! :p
  10. I agree that it's not exactly the same but I think you can compare. Imagine you controlled the sword in Red Steel with the analogue stick. By pushing the stick to the right, your on-screen character swings his arm to the right. The sword would stop moving when it hits an object even though you might still have the stick pushed to the right. I think the exact thing will happen using the FHC. The FHC will change the way we interact with games. But it won't necessarily change the games we play.
  11. I think Nintendo should put in as many characters as they can (so long as they are 'good' characters - not just any virtual Joe Soap). People who only want Nintendo characters in it can just ignore the others. A better selection of characters can only be a good thing imo.
  12. True. I think the notion that the controller would have to stop in mid air is a bit silly really. No offence to anyone who thinks it should. : peace: Just a thought... Is it against forum norm to quote yourself? :p
  13. QFT (that would be one game I'd buy in a heartbeat!)
  14. The exact same way as if it were done with a normal controller I'd imagine. You 'swing' the controller from left to right if you want to swing your ingame sword the same way. Collision detection can be coded in so that the swords don't go through each other. Think of playing mario and you are running towards a wall. Mario hits the wall and stops running. This will happen even if you are still pressing forward with the analogue stick. I imagine the FHC has some sort of rumble pack so that when your swords collide with one another, the FHC shakes. Thats enough immersion for me.
  15. Educated guesses for the most part imo. Probably... It will be... Using the 'classic shell' for TP??? Isn't it supposed to be a GAMECUBE game? Then why wouldn't we use the GAMECUBE controller? If I have to put one controller down when it enters first person, and then pick up the FHC to aim... I'll just use the Gamecube controller only - don't want to be switching controllers alot during the game. Unless... We use the shell with the FHC inserted. Shell will controll most of the game and when we enter first person, we can just aim the shell as the FHC will already be in it. I like the sound of that idea. But if the shell isnt included with the console then we will have to buy it extra to play TP with the FHC features. I know we can still use our Gamecube controllers but I really like the idea of FHC functionality peppered around the game. OOT might just lose it's title of 'Best Game Ever'... (here's hoping!)
  16. True. And we all know that Ken Kutaragi is full of shit when he says that 'the concept behind the PS3 is 4D'.
  17. I agree that Sega aren't the force they used to be. But I really wanna see Super Monkey Ball on the Revo because a) the game would work perfectly with the FHC and b) I never owned a SMB game
  18. I think needing an add-on for a major 1st party release title is a bad idea - it will give the impression that the controller is gimmicky and it will only work with add-ons. I'm really hoping that SSB only uses the FHC (without the nunchuck). This will show its versatility and solid functionality. I can't think of any reason (whatsoever) why you would need an add-on for WarioWare - the FHC and WarioWare is a match made in heaven!
  19. I really hope 'Sin and Punishment' is on the VC! I'd pick that up in a flash!
  20. The fourth dimension is time, not just a theory. When the Sony dude talks about 4D with the PS3, he's talking about games in the vein of MMO games. A global community will be present, playin the games and you join in any time (whenever you want to play). He is just basically putting a 'cool' name to something we already have, so it seems (to all the Sony fanboys) that it's new and something you can only get with the PS3.
  21. Oh right. I want a mario with good graphics, not realistic ones. This graphical style is too realistic for me - I want a throwback to the good old days of Super Mario World etc (but in 3D obviously). The second pic reminds me more of OOT than Mario.
  22. The only reason I can think of is that NOE would become redundant (:p) - they are so fricken slow wrt release dates etc. Im all for region-free. I never was much of an importer but since the DS came along I rarely buy games in local shops - I get most from the States online. You're right there with PAL/NTSC. Main advantage of a PS3 being region-free is because of HDTVs - PAL/NTSC region encoding is done away with.
  23. fakedy fake fake, fake fake!
  24. Talking about the worst timing!!! When Nintendo have their conference I'm going to be on a plane, going on holidays! I can just imagine being on the plane and the flight attendant asking if I would like a drink or something - 'I'm fine but... do you know the Revolutions third secret?' Gonna have to find a good 'net cafe with comfy seats... My girlfriend is going to kill me!
  25. In these days, the child's friends has alot more influence on him/her than his/her parents do. QFT and LOL.
