Uh... Wha? Anyway, I seem to recall the denial from nintendo was a very cagey "We've not officially released any details" rather than "These are fake"

Grr, already my 360's started making unhealthy crunching sounds when reading a disc and if I have it flat it seems to skip on in-game videos etc.

"Crackdown Delay: We Know! Posted by Frankie at 5/16/2007 5:22 AM PDT Folks are reporting problems downloading the Halo 3 Beta via Crackdown this morning. We have alerted the appropriate Live authorities and they are taking care of the problem as we speak. More news as it comes in."

I know it's microsoft and they should have more bandwidth than god, but what are the odds of the servers either slowing to a crawl or going into meltdown as thousands of nerds all try to download a gig at once? I guess this is why they're releasing it on a week day lunchtime, to stagger the number of people leeching.

Well the money ends up in the same coffers and with the same company, that's all. Yes they have different staff to the Sun but then the Sun nowadays is without McKenzie and probably all the hacks they had spewing out shite back then. Latest exciting developments in the close season: Mourinho arrested after dog row: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/6660485.stm Jorge Valdano compares Chelsea and Liverpool's brand football to "Shit hanging off a stick" after their Champions League meeting. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=428836&root=europe&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos3&cc=5901 I cannot BELIEVE that I've just seen Chelsea fans moaning on the London regional news that they've only been given 50,000 tickets for the final! They couldn't give them away for the semi, cheeky part time bastards! Say waht you like about Man U but at least they turned up and sold out their allocation!

Hmm, be back from work about 2:30, I'll grab it then and have a look. Played Halo on the Xbox once, the day the system came out and some guy from uni brought it over for some multiplayer. I was pretty impressed at the time, but grabbed it for the PC later and found single player pretty dull. Heard it's got a bit of a lukewarm reception, but I've never played Halo 2 so if the main problem is it's too much like that then it won't be a problem for me. A what?! There's some serious filth finding its way into games, one of my pokemon has a move called "water sport" and another has one called "mud sport"

In relation to the anti "S*n" campaign amongst scousers, what was the reaction when Stevie G started serialising his book in their sister paper?

Everyone can speculate about where he'd want to be in an ideal world, but Owen wanted premiership football. He couldn't have gone back to the la's who had been gloating "Where were you in istanbull?" at him, because they weren't willing to pay his fee and/or wages - and he had no assurance of playing first team football every week either. As for the scousers taking a gamble on him and getting him back in a Liverpool shirt I wouldn't be surprised and not all that disappointed to be honest. Dunno if you've seen the Youtube vid of those scousers going on an 'hillarious' road trip to the north east under the premise of getting Owen back, but they drive alongside Freddy Shepherd and ask him. he jokes "I'll fuckin carry him back to liverpool on my back for you" at one point. By the way, if you ever want an alternative to anesthetic for complicated operations, I suggest watching the 20 minute version. One of the film makers is actually a liverpool supporting geordie apparently, hated on the scouse message boards for being a know-it-all glory hunting dick. There was one funny bit though, when they were going "Haha, the ticket office is closed" yes, that's because 1) It's the end of the season and tickets for the last game have already been sold and 2) That's the old ticket office that shut about 4 years ago and the current one is round the corner.

Well, Big Sam likely to be appointed at 1pm. I can see St Jame's out my window at the moment and I feel like I can already hear the mongs gathering. Do other clubs have this phenomina where Sky Sports have an uncanny ability to seek out the most utterly fuck-witted fans to parade on telly? I know it's more likely today because you've got to be a bit of a simpleton with nowt else to do to hang around outside the ground when there's a press conference on, but they seem to have a 100% record of just putting gurning cretins on the telly every time they want a comment from a toon fan. I can see what SSN at 1:30 is going to be like now, someone from a toon board I post on summed up how it'll be brilliantly... "Are you pleased with Sam's appointment then?" "Aye deffuntly....deffuntly....aye. Think ehhhhh he's like ye kna like sort of what wuh need like. Propa sort the dressun room out and that." "Are you concerned about the style of football you'll play" "Aye deffuntly. Whey. Nah not really." "Do you think he's the man to bring trophies to SJP?" "Deffuntly aye. Aye deffuntly."

An excellent article by a non-Newcastle fan about the baffling jealousy and bitterness displayed by some fans over the Micheal Owen saga... http://www.lukewhostalking.co.uk/2007/05/jealousy_and_bitterness.html

I'm not saying Benitez is a bad manager by any means, but I don't think he's the best manager in the premiership. At the moment (who knows what the close season will bring) I don't think liverpool have the best squad in the premiership either and I think there'd need to be some significant changes for that to happen. We're talking about winning the league here and you have to finish above everyone else to do that. Liverpool are good at the glory ties, the big games, the dream nights in xxxxx, pulling a 3 goal fightback or 30 yard screamer out of nothing at just the right time. The day to day slog in the prem, they've sometimes looked very ordinary and not massively motivated and that's where the inconsistancy comes in and effects their position in the league. If that's down to the players or the management staff not being able to motivate them I don't know. Similar with us this season, we've played really well and/or got good results against liverpool, man u, chelsea and arsenal this season and not turned up against the likes of Sheffield and dropped points. We finished above them the season before the dodgy Russian waded in...
-
I was asking if he really thought they'd get their first premier league title next season, think it's a fair question. I don't think they've got a good enough squad or manager for it to be honest and I think they'll end up below the Mancs and Chelsea again. If we'll win anything or not, who knows - knowing us lot I doubt it. But if we do it'll be utterly brilliant and the celebrations will be immense.
-
You really reckon the bin dippers will win the league next season? Funny that they got a pen just after fowler was subbed off - just as well though, dunno if I could take the scouse-saccharine overload
-
Would quite like to see the 'ammers down cos they should have been deducted points, on the other hand wouldn't mind seeing Wigan go down cos they're a nothing club, shit team, no fans, shit pitch, shit everything...
-
Bit of a crap disguise if they are! We did something similar for our 95/96 kit, except we used the original shirt of Newcastle West End, one of the clubs which joined to form Newcastle United, as our away kit.

Was in a game with a load of teenage cockney wideboys the other day, felt like I was playing against blazin squad
-
Joined a random game yesterday dude and you were in it, but then you disconnected.
-
Always thought their fans were utterly crap to be honest.

I think Bobby was losing it at the time and I think it was getting to the point where he'd taken the club as far as he could. So in terms of replacing him, maybe that wasn't a bad idea. But if Freddy was going to do it, it should have been done in the summer, rather than giving him money to spend and sacking him four games in with no idea of who to replace him with, thus ending up with Souness.
-
Don't think Keegan would take it, don't think the glory days would return if he did to be honest. I don't want Shearer as coach until he's proved himself elsewhere. He was a great player but that doesn't equal great manager - look at Souness. In fact, which managers in the premiership were great players? Hughes, Pearce... Who else?
-
I think Allerdyce will do for now - at least he's proven and would be effective, would also ship out all the crap backroom staff and hangers on.
-
Some genuine simpletons texting Sky Sports News "Shearer for manager!", "Shearer for chairman!" "Pearce with Shearer as his assistant" "Bring back Keegan" "Allerdyce isn't good enough, go for Mourinho/Hitzfeld/Ferguson/Jesus." Why do they choose these idiots to have their messages read out? It's the kind of thing Freddy bases his decisions on....

Come on, it's been on Sky Sports but nowt on the official site yet! *refreshes nufc.co.uk*
