  1. From speaking to people who were at the game it wasn't a majority, but I'm not going to try and defend it at all. There's a poll on a toon board asking if it was acceptable and thankfully a majority say no there as well. Some people have still been making excuses though such as that the chants have been going around for ages and stem from when he was featured in Private Eye as a look-a-like for richard reid the shoe bomber (ie that it wasn't because he was muslim or arab but just because of how he looked :indeed: ), that he was giving them the V signs before they started the chants and that Boro and other clubs had previously chanted "shoe bomber" songs at him in the past. None of which are any kind of excuse in the slightest for the kind of behaviour exhibited. I have noticed recently there are more little drunken charva idiots on away trips who's main focus is making a dick of themselves and antagonising opposition fans, dunno if that's just us or reflective of a sea change in general.

  2. Yes, the greatest moment of his career was to cheat. It wasn't self sacrifice. I'm pretty sure if he'd pulled out of the challenge because he couldn't make it without cheating to deny us a goal, and then gone to score at the other end instead (the right way to do it) then you'd be lauding him for that as well.

Glad his careers over, hope both his legs fall off. Flying in from behind no-where near the ball could have ended Lee's career as well, it was a totally reckless challenge.

  3. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has retired due to knee injury  His a true legend and will be missed, hopefully we have a testimonial for him!

If he's got nee injury why's he retiring?

Have a dislike for the little frodo bastard, mostly stemming from his scythe of Rob Lee when he was straight through on goal, with not even a pretence of trying to get the ball, then turning and immediately walking off shrugging his shoulders and mouthing "I had to do it" robbing us of 3 points at Old Trafford.

  4.

That's possibly the worst debunking I've ever seen of anything. Are there people who thought everytime a 360 is scanned over a barcode reader it updated the site? Of course it uses estimates and algorithms, so do the console makers and industry analysts. No, it's not going to be deadly accurate and you shouldn't take it as exact fact, but the guy who made that video is a proper donut.

  5. I think the punishment should be more on the player for diving than the ref being fooled by it - I think Styles is card happy and crap as a ref but from the position he was in on the pitch it's a lot harder to make that split second decision than the reverse angle that Andy Gray was using.

They've made a rod for their own back now, any time a ref makes a bad decision managers will call for him to be suspended.

    EDIT:

    LOL

  6. Saw Malouda's dive for the first time yesterday, what a ****. And what a sucker of a ref. Saying that, there's no way he would have been suspended if those decisions went against, say, Wigan or Bolton.

Also, Gerrard has a cheek whining about in in the papers after his cheating last week, walking to exactly where he'd like to take a set piece from, running into a defender and then spinning round to demand the ref award him a free kick.

  7. What if I randomly generated double the petition signatures calling for the exact opposite of what you were campaigning for? They're both of exactly the same worth as each other because e-petitions aren't worth the paper they're not written on, but mine would have more sigs.

    Herein lies the flaw.

  8. Excellent marketing ploy like, take something off the market, get the rose tinted specs going and then announce you're bringing them back so everyone goes OMG must buy 100! Then pretend it was because of an online petition.

  9. Been impressed with Geremi's attitude so far. He's making the right noises as well, reckon he's going to be good for us

"One of my first games was against Hull in a pre-season friendly and it really made me think," he says. "There were so many Newcastle fans there and I just kept wondering, 'why would so many people want to see us play Hull?' We played Celtic (at St James' Park) as well and there were 30,000 people inside the ground. For a friendly!

"Then you look at the number of people who come to the stadium every day; you see the fans who watch us train, and you see how many people are walking round Newcastle in black and white shirts. Every day since I arrived, I have thought to myself, 'if we can achieve something here, just imagine what it would be like...' My girlfriend asked me what was on my mind a few days ago. 'We have to win,' I told her. 'We have to win.' I told her that we needed to do something for these people. It's so important because you can see how much they love this club."

  10. Hmm, apparently me and 4000 others in the east stand will have black and white streamers to throw when the teams come out tomorrow. Not sure about that, I think it's just at the limit of what I'd accept and think looked pretty good. However, any further stupid shit like

    -Music when a team scores

    -Cheerleaders

    -Fireworks

    -Boro style foam hands

    -Fuckwits in mascot costumes

And I think it's time to remind Sam that stuff belongs at no-mark teams like Bolton and Watford (Although Watford get points for their fireworks sparking out some wifey in the stand)
