According to the Mail Freddy Shepherd is considering buying Leeds.
Also Steven Taylor has turned down an (admittedly rather poor sounding) 5 year contract and Liverpool are said to be lining up a £5m bid for him. Not sure if he's worth that much to be honest, he blows hot and cold and since his England call up he's been shit. He's definitely got potential but it seems he's rated higher by other clubs fans than by our own.

Crunchy Nut for me aswell.Though I use to love those sugary coated riced crispies and the icon was some space guy. Can't remember the name but I use to have that all the time year ago.
Ricicles are nicicles.

The best bit is when everyone proudly sings it and then they throw a curve ball by doing another verse causing much mumbling.
Or when we play a country with the same tune as their anthem.
Isn't that American song to the same tune actually as well? Only realised recently. The one that goes duh dah dur dah dah dah sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing...

our song represents our heritage and our monarchy. And that's the way it should be.
It's fucking miserable durge and excludes anyone who's not a royal-bummer or god botherer in the first line. Why do we need to implore Skygod to save that sour faced auld trout? She's minted. We'd be better off singing for god to save some meth addled pissy tramp, at last he could do with a bit of help.
I think when we have to start singing God Save The King people will begin to realise how stupid it is.
The best anthems are the jolly happy African ones. They've got no rain, malaria and keep getting eaten by tigers, so why are their anthems so much happier than ours?

Yeah, I was struggling a bit for the last midfielder, I was thinking Barry, Barton or N'Zogbia, although Barton and the Zog have yet to show fully what they can do this season when they get a good run in the team in their favoured position.

Kate McCann is being named as an "arguido" by Portugese police. This is being generally translated as "suspect" in the news but it's not quite that simple - It's a legal classification and both police and the person being interviewed often request the status because it gives them certain legal rights - It gives the arguido the right to silence and a lawyer and it gives the police the right to ask a much wider range of questions. So "suspect" doesn't automatically translate as "We think you might have done it" because there are other reasons for setting that status.
However, friends of Kate McCann say the plod are suggesting to her that they found traces of Madeleine's blood in their hire car and she fear's she's going to be charged over her death.

Completely unsubstantiated, but a friend-of-a-friend in Portugal says the papers there are saying today that police believe the couple (both doctors) drugged the kids so they could go for a meal and overdid it with Maddie - the evidence being the blood traces in the car and a needle found during investigations.

Let's try and salvage something from this thread. What do you think would be the best 11 of players from outside the top 4? I'd probably go for something like
Given
Richards Lescott Woodgate Bale
Bentley Arteta Cahill Barton
Berbatov Anelka

20,000 e-petition votes not worth the paper they aren't written on. I hope we get up to 40,000!

Cracking singer, although I'm a bit annoyed at the fella for popping his clogs now seeing as how he's cost me 2 pints cos 2 of my mates have them in their death pool.

Zero tolerance policing isn't about coming down harder on major crimes like GBH and Murder. It's the idea of throwing the book at people who commit minor crimes in the hope that reducing that will have a knock on effect on more serious crimes.

Will having officers tied up doing all the paperwork, interviews, arrests, giving evidence etc for some kid they found with a little bit of weed or some guy who double parked rather than being out there in a visible presence on the street really make neurotic mothers cancel their order for stab-proof vests?

Had to resurrect this thread for this

Iran have anti-britain protests every day
Really? Do you have a cite for these daily anti-britain protests?

I don't claim anything. I follow do however follow my hometown club when I could quite easily have been a plastic scouse or plastic manc.

Noooo - last night saw the return of "Monty the Magpie". We've had ten years without the stupid bugger. One of my favourite halftime entertainments at away games is ripping the piss out of the sweaty oik in the lion suit, now I'd be a hypocrit.
Edit: LOL, he's put the pics of his first day on the job on his myspace

i guess posting a picture of bush with a nimbus wasn't obvious enough.
now i come to think of it though, chavez is doing almost exactly the same thing, changing the constitution so he can stay in office for an unlimited amount of terms
Can't British Prime Ministers also stay in office for an unlimited number of terms?

I also remember buying a most of Buffy on VHS....god I hate VHS...
I remember picking videos to rent when there were two sections in the store, one for VHS and one for Betamax
Ha ha! I'm an 80s child so I feel even older. Most of the stuff in your list, I remember my little sister doing, so now I feel extra old, ta!! lol
Haha, exactly the same. I guess in 7 or eight years 6 formers will be sending around lists saying "OMG, Tellytubbies! Remember Raven? Lol!"

Doesn't matter, thanks to Dubya using the armed forces as his personal errand boys America has neither the resources or manpower to start a war with Iran even if it's needed. Mahmoud Arnydinnerjacket knows this as well, which is why he's become more and more bolder at thumbing his nose at the west since Operation Total Waste Of Time began.

Jesus Christ, you think that makes you feel old - wait until you start seeing people writing lists of "back in the day" of 2000-2010 when they were kids and talking about how old it makes them feel. I was 9 when the Simpsons started and only rich kids with Squarials got to see it.

I remember years ago finding it funny that Southampton had two very apt injuries at the same time, Peter Crouch out with a twisted knee and Michael Poke out with a broken finger.

Dyer's completely crocked again, stretched off with his leg fixed to one of those board things.

They should just give the budget to the people who did Street Fighter: the Later Years. Their four low-budget 3 minute shorts were ten billion times better than the last Street Fighter movie.
