Inevitable. We know there will be a smash my Wii also.
-
Eer, no it isn't, according to: http://ps3.ign.com/articles/697/697656p1.html There is some kind of explanation for it there, but it still seems strange.
-
There is something I have been thinking about. Nintendo and Microsoft, as far as I know, don't mind people importing, and their games are region locked. Sony does mind people importing, and their Playstation 3 games are not region locked. Why is this? To me it seems a little illogical.

This is something more relevant do Denmark, but still, I thought it was cool. Nintendo will have a booth with Wii at D3, according to Nintendo.dk. For those who don't know, D3 stands for "Danish Electronic Entertainment Exposition", which is kinda like E3 but smaller, and for the general public, not just the press. It is held in Øksnehallen in Copenhagen. Their website is here: http://www.d3expo.dk for those of you who are interested. Sony and Microsoft will also be there, by the way.
-
Bergsala also supplies Denmark with Nintendo products, by the way This gives a good indication of what the price will be in Denmark. So a Wii will probably be 2299 here, because 100 norwegian kroner are 90 danish kroner (approximately). An Xbox 360 Core is 2399 here in Denmark by the way, and I can't imagine the Wii costing more.

Well, then I will be the first. These specs are not confirmed by Nintendo, I repeat, NOT confirmed, and are in no way official. They were reported by Matt Cassamassina way back and his source were some Wii developers he apparently got the information from, which he still hasn't said who are. There is no proof at all that these are the real specs so all you who might get upset about them, remember: cum grano salis (latin for "with a pinch of salt"). (note, this isn't a "complaint", it's just a statement)

So, it is impossible for the game to be fun, because of the graphics?
-
When were talking about HD, there's something I'm calling the "HD syndrome". I have a Xbox 360, and a widescreen CRT television (no HD), and in a lot of games, the text is very difficult to read, similar to what happens in PC games when run at a resolution like 640x480, and I haven't had this problem with any Gamecube games. So I think for us who still has standard difinition tv's, Wii games will actually look sharper. I'm with you, Pedrocasilva, this HD craze is becoming to much, just look at a site like Gamespot, stating that you need an HD tv to get the most out of a Xbox 360, or that you are only getting half the experience.

There is a new trailer up at Gametrailers, called Desert Dash Gameplay, which show off some other environments than the desert. It also shows "The Secret of the Rings" as a tentative titel. I highly recommend anyone here to see it, it looks really good.

It seems Sony announced the Danish Price for Playstation 3 60 GB Model at GC in Leipzig: 5195 kr. That is 888.63$ or 470.84£. By comparison the Premium Xbox 360 Pack costs 3199 kr. or 547.2$ or 289.94£. No word on the 20 GB Model yet. Source: http://www.spilzonen.dk/x/news/18939/

F.E.A.R. has been announced as a launch title. Sources: http://www.spilzonen.dk/x/news/18848/ http://ps3.ign.com/articles/725/725847p1.html Thought you wanted to know.

One of the biggest publishers? Could be EA Games maybe? Anyway, I think this game looks very interesting. Let's hope we get some ingame screenshots with the new info (we probably won't, but you can always hope).

A question to Zell, harribo and spirited away: Where did you buy your subscriptions for NGC from? I got mine from http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk, and I haven't received any information (yet?).

Nintendo Gamecube; My take upon the console
Melainon replied to seamus_aran's topic in General Gaming Discussion
"we are about to say goodbye to what many consider to be the worst Nintendo console ever produced". Many? I certainly didn't think it was the worst console they ever made. Of course, I am not everybody but still, many? "Sony made gaming cool". No they made it seem cool. There is not, have never been, and will never be, anything cool about playing videogames. It is supposed to be fun. But it is still impressive that Sony made it seem cool to play games (on their consoles, of course). -
HDR stands for "High Dynamic Range". It is usually abbreviated HDR lighting og HDR rendering. It is a special way of making light in 3D rendering seem more realistic. Check this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_rendering for more info.

I think I will buy Super Mario Galaxy (if it is a launch title) and Red Steel with the console on launch day, and if Super Mario Galaxy isn't a launch title, then The Legend of Zelda: Twillight Princess and Red Steel. I have actually never bought two games together with a new console, but I think this is such a special occasion that I will do that.

To clarify further: Monolith Soft is a japanese entertainment company making console games and recently games for cellphones. They made the Xenosaga series which they are usually associated with. They also made Baten Kaitos and they are indeed making Disaster: Day of Crisis Monolith Productions is an american game developer studio, which are mostly know for their Lithtech engine. They have made mostly PC games, the best known being: No One Lives Forever 1 & 2, Tron 2.0 and F.E.A.R. They also made Condemned: Criminal Origins for the Xbox 360 and later the PC. Hope this clarifys things. Oh, and on topic: I think this game looks really interesting, I hope we'll see some in-game footage soon.

Hey. Seeing as there have been threads about the other issues, I thought I would make one about the newest issue of NGC, seeing as there isn't another thread. (There isn't, is there?) NEWS Nothing we haven't heard before, but in the article about the Sega and Hudson games available on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console, they made this interesting remark (It's about Nintendo's showing at GDC 2006): "No formal specs were released, but it seems increasingly likely that Revolution will be basically an enhanced Gamecube - Hollywood and Broadway, the GPU and CPU of the new machine, are said to be faster versions of Gamecube's Flipper and Gekko chips. Judging by the screens we've seen (sorry, but we'd be kicked in the 'nads if we printed them) which look very much like GC games, this seems to be the case. Here's hoping Rev's gameplay renders graphical comparisons with PS3 irrelevant. Very cool! Anyway, I still think they should abbreviate it like that. It actually sounds a lot better like that.
-
It would be cool if it was NWii (Nintendo Wii), it sounds a little like "envy" which is what everyone who doesn't have a Nintendo Wii will feel towards those who have one.

OK, that sounds really good. One of the reasons I want one, is because of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. My PC can't run it at very high settings(I think), so by getting it for Xbox 360 I can play it as it was intended, with the best visuals. Oh, and I'm glad that it doesn't expel radiation or may annihilate my house and family, as that was my main worry

Hello everyone. I'm thinking about buying an Xbox 360, but there are just a few things I would like to know. I have heard something about that it overheats, but do any of you who has one, have these problems? And are there any other problems with it, for I have heard something about that some of them are crashing or freezing. The reason I'm asking is whether I should wait, and buy one when these problems have been fixed, if they are there at all. It's just that I really want one, so I have something to make the wait for Nintendo Revolution feel shorter, seeing as there are so few Gamecube titles coming out (yes, the only console I have from this generation is the Gamecube). I hope you can help me with these questions.

Well, I would also certainly recommend F.E.A.R. Also, if you like strategy games, you should definetely get Warhammer 40.000 - Dawn of War. Doom 3 is also really good, and Painkiller is a fantastic FPS. So, that's what I would recommend.
