I don't mind the Earth-based stuff, especially compared to the earth based episodes of sg-1 and atlantis - they were always terrible. But yeah I do prefer the stuff on the Destiny. I reckon season 2 will hold a lot more action, to contrast to this seasons struggle for survival.

Good episode. It is a rather long way but at least the first ten episodes are released on DVD (Region 1) and Blu Ray in February.

The special effects are amazing. It's so pretty.

They said season 1 was basically one big arc, so there may be stand-alones but they will ultimately have an affect on the whole thing. I agree.

I thought the acting and the writing were on great for Rush.

Including those God awful clip shows? Or..."Emancipation"? I'm still liking it, I can feel the slow build up coming, I liked episode 5, "Light". What happened at the end was pretty interesting.

Last 10 episodes of Atlantis season 5 had the short intro too.

First half of season 9 I think. Not very many, people complained.

I much prefer having no intro, perhaps they should just have one for the first episode of every season? They're all right the first couple of times, but they get quite arduous - even if the music is pretty good.

Hehe I remember that. The writers have always done good nods to things, the fans especially. I remember an episode with the guy who does Homer Simpson's voice, "Citizen Joe" I think it was called. Lots of nods to the forum on gateworld.net Was pretty funny.

I found the fact that we didn't know everything about them straight away was more intersting. Loved SG-1 from the beginning, same with Atlantis, but Universe looks even better to me.

Yeah it's stand-alone. They explain everything you need to know about how the Stargate works, which is all you need to know.

Prepare to have your faith reinstated. The script is brilliant, bit slow in paces but not enough to complain about really. It's hard to imagine this is the same bunch of writers. I had always wanted Atlantis to be like this, darker and grittier. I only hope they actually explore the ship, in time of course. As Atlantis seemed to be reduced to labs where nothing of real consequence ever really happened. The music was really good too, especially in the opening, thought that opening was really well done.

Well...I thought it was great. Interesting characters, good spaceship And yeah the writers/producers said they had unique planets and aliens in store.

I agree. A brilliant movie. and I love Christina Ricci too.
