Dog-amoto Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Any sign of these yet? Somebody at GAME told me that only the really big stores would get them at first, but weeks before the US launch, they had them in most stores. I'm not too bothered myself, as I'm gonna hold of until the 8th, but it'll surely generate more interest from the Xbox/PS3 crowd who hang out at game shops
Nintendork Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Virgin Manchester has one, but after the first day they didn't have the staff to monitor it. You can't use it unless there are staff demonstrating it because you could easily run off with a £30 remote. Same situation when you want to listen to vinyl in my local Virgin because people run off with the turntable needles (apparently they're worth a bit) With it being so busy in town I doubt stores will have the time to personally supervise every kid who just wants to have a play. It will probably be a case of 'are they considering buying it?' if so then it could be worth a sale.
Guest Stefkov Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I only found out there was one in that Virgin in Manchester a couple days ago on Cubed3 or gonintendo. I cant remember which but didn know. I would have gone already if id knew. I'm still gonna go just to see it with my own eyes.
ShadowV7 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I haven't seen anyway yet, though if did I probably won't play it.I'll look at smile and walk away knowing that people are getting drawn into it.
ndschris Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 a friend who works at gamestation told me that they will have a pod in his store, but only for a few days, nintendo are sending a rep to guard the remote
harribo Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Why dont they just get a wire connected to it like they did with the DS stylus asuming they don't use the nunchuck?
monkeyDluffy Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 we're getting one in the GAME were I work, next week apparently don't know anything other than it needs a 2 metre square area free for people to swing around in and my boss said the controller will have a security wire.
Shino Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 The way we have it here is, controllers are wireless, the wire that connects the nunchuck to the wiimote is covered by a hard plastic tube, and each controller has one of those stickers that clothes have so people don't steal them, and there might be someone guarding it.
Jay Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 I saw the Wii in Virgin Manchester, no-one was playing it and to be honest I just assumed that it was just on display although seeing the Wii first hand for the first time was cool, its so small and funky looking. I don't want to play it until the day I get it anyway, I spent a good amount of time playing on a cube in toys'r'us about a month before launch and Luigi's Mansion/Rogue Leader didn't feel nearly as fresh on day one as a consequence
