hicky45 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 hey guys.. ive had a bit of a search and couldnt find anything to do with what i wanna say so ill just say it anyway ...with the wii having USB at the back of the console, what are your hopes for add-ons which Nintendo may create? Personally i hope they make an official keyboard and mouse as i think that typing emails would be a bit of a chore after a while from using the wii-mote....
AshMat Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Wireless mouse and keyboard? If you want a keyboard. Just buy a PC one.
hicky45 Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 do they work with the wii? i thought you may have to have special drivers for the wii to let them lol
ultrajamie Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 off the shelf keyboards don;t work... Iwata briefly mentioned that usb HDD's will work, but this hasn't been mentioned since. they obviously don;t plan you will use them much... else they would be on the front.
Nintendork Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 I'd be suprised if the Opera download doesn't include drivers for a generic USB keyboard and mouse (wired) Why can't you just use your computer? Wii isn't really made for fluid surfing.
demonmike04 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 The opera browser for wii will probably be the same as the DS one..56k speeds.
Nintendork Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 I doubt it, the Wii can handle 3D graphics better.. so in theory 2D graphics and flash should be a doddle for it. Providing the broadband wireless connection is provided. I think it will be pretty fast. It's effectively a fully fledged Opera engine. http://youtube.com/watch?v=HSeFJk9JniY These may have been pre-loaded for demo purposes.. but it looks authentic to me.
DCK Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 The opera browser for wii will probably be the same as the DS one..56k speeds. Opera sucks on the DS because the DS is weak and its Wifi isn't great. Wii is fully capable of a full-fledged browser (it has 22 times the DS's memory) and its internet connection is said to be fully compliant with 802.11g, which is faster than your internet connection can handle.
