Kurtle Squad Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 I know this has been mentioned before; but now the Wii Channels and such have been released, it made me wonder even more about how the Wii will actually connect to the internet...Especially if you don't want any hassle...
Phube Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Wirelessly, if you have a wireless router that is!! If not, who knows???
Cube Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 A) If you have a wireless router - search for Wireless. Connect to router you want (enter network key if necessary) - If that doesn't work, enter some details about your router, then connect. B) If you have a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connector Dongle (Im guessing the DS one will work - as it's official name doesn't actually have "DS" in it...but don't take my word for it) - Search, connect c) If you have none - Not entirely sure, all I know is you'll need some USB attachment. It depends whether the Wii has a built in broadband modem, or If you'll need your own USB modem. I'm also guessing you'll be able to connect it to a PC via a network cable (with a USB attachment) to connect to the internet through that.
Kurtle Squad Posted September 21, 2006 Author Posted September 21, 2006 Well my DS didn't seem to like my router when I tried connecting to it & my WiFi connector isnt installing (my PC's an arse), plus Wii Connect 24 wouldn't work with a adapter.
*Dalco* Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 it would have to be wireless to work in its full effect due unless your PC in on all day with the USB dongle. you can pick up a decent router for 50 quid so shouldbe fairly easy to sort out
Cube Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Sky Broadband IS the answer.... ....If you can get it in your area.
Phube Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 ....If you can get it in your area. Well move to an area that can!!! :P
demonmike04 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Sky Broadband IS the answer.... Does the router with sky broadband work with Nintendo products?
Phube Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Does the router with sky broadband work with Nintendo products? I'll tell you: October 8th = DS December 8th = Wii.
demonmike04 Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 Im pretty sure if it works for DS it'l work for Wii, im also hoping for the wii's connectivity to be slightly more advanced so it accepts a wider range or routers.
DCK Posted September 21, 2006 Posted September 21, 2006 The Wii's networking should be far more advanced than the DS one and should therefore work well with far more routers.
