UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 19, 2009

Nintendo take a 6th consecutive week at No1 with ‘Wii Fit’ (-7%) which makes 15 weeks at the top since launch – it now needs only 3 more No1’s to equal the all time record holder (‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ / Eidos).

Activision Blizzard’s big new release from last week ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ does better in week 2, but still has to settle for No2 (+16%). EA remain at No3 with ‘FIFA 09’ (+13%) and Nintendo’s ‘Wii Play’ stays at No4 (-12%). Nintendo’s ‘Mario Kart Wii’ (No5 / +5%) swaps places with Capcom’s ‘Resident Evil 5’ (No6 / -21%). Activision Blizzard climb 3 places to No7 with ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ (-3%), Nintendo climb one place to No8 with ‘Professor Layton and the Curious Village’ (-14%), Sega climb 3 places to No9 with ‘Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games’ (-2%) and the highest ‘new’ entry at No10 is Nintendo’s DS ‘Rhythm Paradise’, actually released last week but sales rocket 125% over week 1. It’s a similar situation for Disney’s ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’, in at No18 having been released last week (+154%).

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 21, 2009

Major new releases over the last 2 months have been few and far between, but this week sees 3 big new titles at 1-2-3 across 4 different formats.

It’s taken THQ’s mixed martial arts ‘UFC 2009: Undisputed’ to finally wrestle the top spot out of Nintendo’s hands with impressive week 1 sales split 52% Xbox360 & 48% PS3 – the game is developed by Yuke’s, best known most recently for the ‘WWE Smackdown vs Raw’ series 2006-2009. Nintendo debut at No2 with ‘Pokemon Platinum’ on DS, a director’s cut of ‘Pokemon Diamond’ & ‘Pokemon Pearl’, released in July 2007. EA debut at No3 with ‘EA Sports Active’, a Wii title aimed squarely at the lifestyle/fitness segment. Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ (+6%) had the last 7 consecutive weeks / 16 weeks in total at No1 and still needs 2 more No1’s to equal the all time record holder (‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ / Eidos). EA’s ‘FIFA 09’ (-8%) drops 3 places to No5, with Activision Blizzard’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ (+2%) dropping 3 places to No6. Nintendo’s ‘Wii Play’ (+95%) drops 2 places to No7, Nintendo’s ‘Mario Kart Wii’ drops 3 places to No8 (+13%) and Ubisoft’s own Wii lifestyle/fitness title ‘My Fitness Coach’ (+82%) climbs 5 places and back in to the Top 10 at No9. Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ drops 6 places to No10 (-0%). Also new this week is Capcom’s ‘Bionic Commando’ at No14, THQ’s ‘Big Family Games’ at No30 and Codemasters’ ‘Damnation’ at No35.

Nintendo can only blame themselves really. I haven't seen one piece of advertising for it on TV and in stores, the advertising has been minimal or there were no copies of the game on the shelves when I was in and this was the weekend of release. The only advertising I see for the Wii is for all the casual stuff like Wii Fit or Animal Crossing. It's in essence suffered the same fate as Disaster, although at least the title for that was appropriate given Nintendo's support for it.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 23, 2009

EA’s ever-popular Sims franchise returns this week with ‘The Sims 3’ and it goes straight in at No1. It’s been nearly five years since the previous instalment and the game can claim the fourth biggest UK opening week ever for a PC title – behind the two World of Warcraft expansion packs and Championship Manager 4.

Another third instalment of a franchise is at No2 with new entry ‘Red Faction: Guerrilla’ from THQ. Previous No1 and also a THQ title is ‘UFC 2009: Undisputed’ down two places to No3. Fitness titles hold the next two places with ‘EA Sports Active’ moving down a place to No4 followed by Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ moving up a place to No5. Sony’s PS3 exclusive ‘inFamous’ moves down one to No6 after debuting at No5 last week and Nintendo’s ‘Pokemon Platinum’ drops five places to No7. Activision Blizzard’s ‘Guitar Hero: Metallica’ also sees a drop from No4 to No8. Sega’s ‘Virtua Tennis 2009’ and Warner’s ‘Terminator Salvation’ round off the Top 10 at No9 and No10 respectively. Also new this week we have Codemasters’ racing title ‘Fuel’ at No12, Koch Media’s ‘Sacred 2: Fallen Angel’ now released on PS3 and Xbox 360 at No15 and Square Enix’s ‘Star Ocean: The Last Hope’ at No18. Further down the list we have GSP/Avanquest’s DS ‘Mystery Stories’ new at No20 and another Koch Media title ‘Jillian Michael’s Fitness Ultimatum’ on Wii at No27.

EA’s ‘The Sims 3’ (-48%) claims a second week at No1 even though sales have halved over the launch week.

Activision Blizzard debut at No2 with sci-fi action-adventure ‘Prototype’ from respected Canadian developer Radical Entertainment (Simpsons: Hit & Run, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Scarface: World is Yours, Crash Tag Team/Crash of the Titans). Last week’s big new entry, THQ’s ‘Red Faction: Guerrilla’ (-31%) only drops one place to No3 and Nintendo take No4 with ‘Wii Fit’ (+18%) - since being knocked off No1 back in week 21 by a steady stream of quality new releases, Wii Fit has risen 1 place per week over the last 3 weeks, perhaps in preparation for another assault on the top spot to complete that famous record-in-waiting (needs 3 more No1’s for the all time No1 record). THQ’s ‘UFC 2009: Undisputed’ (-36%) drops 2 places to No5 and EA’s ‘EA Sports Active’ (-28%) also relinquishes 2 positions now at No6. Activision Blizzard have the highest climber with ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ (+79%) climbing 9 places to No7 thanks to price promotion. Also of note this week is new entry ‘Grand Slam Tennis’ from EA at No13 which is the first Wii MotionPlus title available and was launched with or without the Wii MotionPlus device (also released this week and features in our Accessories tracking report). Note that Nintendo’s first title to make use of this device is coming out on July 24th (Wii Sports Resort).

Sales of ‘Prototype’ are down 20% in its 2nd week of release, but with sales of last week’s No1 ‘The Sims 3’ falling by 49% , ‘Prototype’ pushes the popular PC phenomenon down to No2. Xbox 360 remains the dominant format for Activision Blizzard’s new open-world action title, Microsoft’s format accounting for 61% of sales, PS3 36% and PC 3%. ‘Wii Fit’ (-12%) climbs one place, skipping back into the Top 3 for the first time since it was deposed from the No1 spot over 4 weeks ago. The Ghostbusters film might be 25 years old, but a debut at No4 for the new Sony-published video game proves that it’s still a well-loved franchise. ‘Ghostbusters: The Video Game’ (98% PS3 & 2% PS2) debuts one place higher than Sony’s previous PS3 title ‘Infamous’ which was a new entry at No5 four weeks ago.

The price drop 2 weeks ago on ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ is still in effect, boosting sales by 59% this week as it jumps from No7 to No5, leaping ahead of THQ’s ‘Red Faction: Guerrilla’ (-46%) and ‘UFC 2009: Undisputed’ (-28%). Red Faction drops 3 places to No6, while UFC slips 2 places to No7. The bottom end of the All Formats Top 10 has a sporty theme with ‘EA Sports Active’ (-27%) down 2 places to No8, while Sega’s Virtua Tennis 2009’ (+33%) pops back into the Top 10, up 2 places to No9, helped by the release of the Wii MotionPlus compatible version. With Wimbledon starting this week EA’s ‘Grand Slam Tennis’ volleys its way into the Top 10, up 3 places to No10. Launched 2 weeks ago as the UK’s first Wii MotionPlus compatible title, sales this week are up 47%, more than double that of Virtua Tennis 2009 on Wii. There is also a strong second week for ‘Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings’ (+158%) which leaps from No32 to No13, while 505 Games have this week’s only other Top 40 new release with ‘ArmA II’ at No19.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 29, 2009

The release of ‘Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince’ in cinemas has helped magic another All Formats No1 for EA, knocking their own title ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ (-20%) down from No1 to No3.

Sales of ‘Harry Potter’ only rise by 5%, but it is enough to see it pass both Tiger Woods and Activision-Blizzard’s film tie-in ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ which rises from No3 to No2 despite a 4% dip in sales. It has been a very successful couple of months for the US publisher with 4 separate EA titles reaching No1 in the All Formats Chart for a total of 6 out of the past 7 weeks. They also now have a total of five games in the All Formats Top 10. ‘Wii Fit’ (-3%) continues its consistent good form, back up 2 places to No4, having remained in the All Formats Top 10 since the first week of the year. ‘Fight Night Round 4’ (-30%) is on the ropes, down from No2 to No5, while sales of Ubisoft’s ‘Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood’ (-27%) are down by a similar margin, however it only drops one place to No6.

‘The Sims 3’ and ‘Virtua Tennis 2009’ change places, the former up to No7 and the latter down to No8. Perhaps price is important with ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ (-7%) continuing to outsell its younger brother ‘World At War’ by holding steady at No9. EA round off the All Formats Top 10 with ‘EA Sports Active’ returning to the All Formats Top 10, up from No13 to No10. ‘Rhythm Paradise’ (+96%) re-enters the Top 40 at No21, aided by a TV advert starring Beyoncé.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 30, 2009

With summer holidays in full swing Nintendo follow up the launch of the Wii MotionPlus controller 7 weeks ago with the first Nintendo title to take advantage of this new accessory.

It will come as no surprise that ‘Wii Sports Resort’ is a resounding No1 this week and this is the fourth biggest week 1 for a Wii title, behind ‘Wii Fit’ (week 17, 2008), ‘Mario Kart Wii’ (week 15, 2008) and ‘Mario & Sonic at the Olympics’ (week 49, 2007). Note that the original ‘Wii Sports’ was only released with the Wii console and as such has never been tracked as a software item. However, interestingly enough, week 1 sales of the Wii (week 49, 2006) were almost identical to week 1 sales of ‘Wii Sports Resort’. EA’s ‘Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince’ has a solid fourth week on chart, sales down just 4% over last week but the title drops to No2. EA remain at No3 with an equally solid fourth week for ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ (EA’s second Wii MotionPlus-enabled title) with sales down just 3% over last week.

Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ remains at No4 (+3%) and Activision-Blizzard’s ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ (-13%) drops 3 places to No5. EA drop 1 place to No6 with ‘Fight Night Round 4’ (-24%), Ubisoft also drop a position to No7 with ‘Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood’ (-19%), as does EA’s ‘The Sims 3’ at No8 (-11%). Activision Blizzard and EA are non-movers at No’s 9 & 10 with ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ (-13%) and ‘EA Sports Active’ (+8%). Note that the other Wii MotionPlus-enabled titles are also within the Top 40 – Sega’s ‘Virtua Tennis 2009’ is at No13 (-40%) and EA’s ‘Grand Slam Tennis’ is at No25 (-19%), actually the first MotionPlus product to market having been launched 7 weeks ago alongside the solus Wii MotionPlus controller.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 31, 2009

Nintendo’s ‘Wii Sports Resort’ still rests comfortably at No1 this week with an increase of 6% in sales.

Nintendo also claim the No2 spot thanks to the brilliant stamina of ‘Wii Fit’ jumping up from No4. The next three places are held by EA with ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ staying on par at No3, ‘Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince’ moving down to No4 and ‘Fight Night Round 4’ bouncing back to No5. Activision-Blizzard’s ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ drops a place to No6 and EA’s ‘The Sims 3’ regains No7. THQ fight their way back into the Top 10 thanks to ‘UFC 2009: Undisputed’ at No8 and EA’s fifth title in the Top 10 comes in the form ‘EA Sports Active’ at No9. Ubisoft’s ‘Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood’ rounds off the Top 10 and the only new release to make it into the Top 40 this week is film tie-in ‘G-Force’ featuring Disney’s secret agent guineapigs sneaking in at No26.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 31, 2009

Newcomer ‘Ashes Cricket 2009’ from Codemasters bowls out Nintendo’s ‘Wii Sports Resort’ after two weeks at No1, becoming the first UK publisher to reach the top of the All Formats chart since Eidos in week 6 2007 (with ‘Battlestations Midway’).

Codemasters’ last All Formats No1 was 4 years ago with ‘Brian Lara International Cricket 2005’, however a strong marketing campaign sees ‘Ashes Cricket 2009’ outsell it by almost 3 to 1 in their respective debut weeks. It is far and away the biggest launch for a cricket title with release week sales almost matching those of EA’s recent boxing chart topper ‘Fight Night Round 4’. Sales of Wii Sports Resort are down 49%, but it is still well ahead of the rest of the Top 10 at No2. ‘Wii Fit’ and ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ both slip one place to Nos 3 and 4 respectively, while EA round off a Top 5 full of sports/fitness games with ‘Fight Night Round 4’ a non-mover at No5.

EA have 4, rather than last week’s 5, games in the Top 10 as ‘Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince’ drops 2 places to No6 and ‘The Sims 3’ teeters on the edge, down 3 places to No10. Strong pricing on ‘Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood’ helps it rebound 3 places to No7, ahead of ‘Mario Kart Wii’ at No8 and Disney’s film tie-in ‘G-Force’ which makes the most of the launch of the film in cinemas by climbing 18 places in its second week, breaking into the top 10 at No9.

Nintendo were only taking a short break from No1 in the All Formats Chart. After 2 weeks of watching ‘Ashes Cricket 2009’ take top spot, ‘Wii Sports Resort’ (-12%) climbs one place back to No1, pipping Activision-Blizzard’s newcomer ‘Wolfenstein’ by 2,000 sales.

Nintendo have now claimed the No1 spot in the All Formats Chart for an impressive 15 weeks so far this year. By way of consolation, Activision-Blizzard’s resurrection of the classic ‘Wolfenstein’ franchise takes the No1 position on the PS3, 360 and PC charts. Codemasters’ ‘Ashes Cricket 2009’ is bowled out, forced to settle for No3 in the All Formats batting order after a 56% drop in sales. Activision-Blizzard now matches Nintendo with 3 titles in the All Formats Top 10 this week, boosted by price promotions on ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ (+ 36%) which jumps 2 places to No5 and ‘Prototype’ (-10%) sneaking back into the Top 10, up one place to No10. Nintendo’s old guard of ‘Wii Fit’ (-8%) and ‘Mario Kart Wii’ are proving resiliant, maintaining a strong Top 10 presence by only slipping one place to No’s 4 and 7 respectively.

In its third week of price promotion, Ubisoft’s ‘Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood’ falls 2 places to No6 (-26%). Sales of ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ (-24%) are down by a similar margin at No8, but fellow EA Sports title and previous chart topper ‘Fight Night Round 4’ (-5%) scraps its way back into the Top 10 at No9. American football is proving less robust for EA with ‘Madden NFL 10’ (-43%) dropping to No20 after debuting last week at No8.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 35, 2009

Eidos have secured No1 with ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’, which is their biggest All Formats No1 since ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ back in 2000 (bigger than Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness).

The split was pretty close with 55% going to Xbox 360 and 45% to PS3 (the PC version will be hitting shops in a few weeks). Nintendo’s ‘Wii Sports Resort’ therefore moves back down to No2 and Codemasters’ ‘Ashes Cricket 2009’ stays at No3. Activision-Blizzard’s ‘Wolfenstein’ moves down two places to No4 followed by Nintendo’s ‘Wii Fit’ at No5. It’s Activision Blizzard and Nintendo again at No6 and No7 respectively with ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ and ‘Mario Kart Wii’. EA’s ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ holds par at No8 and we have another Batman game in the Top 10 with Warner Bros. Interactive’s ‘Lego Batman: The Videogame’ at No9. Activision Blizzard have a second Call of Duty game finishing off the Top 10 with ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ and Bethesda Softworks new expansion pack ‘Fallout 3: Game Add-On Pack #2’ comes in at No20.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 36, 2009

For a second week, ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ holds tight at the top of the All Formats Chart ahead of Wii Sports Resort’ at No2 (-11%).

Sales of Eidos’ critically acclaimed title are only down 27% with the PS3 version gaining ground on the Xbox 360 version, boosted by bundling and the launch of Sony’s new PS3 Slim console at £249.99. Retailer bundling of Sony’s new cheaper and slimmer console has had a marked effect on the All Formats Chart this week with Activision-Blizzard and EA the main beneficiaries. ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ (+128%) charges up the Chart from No10 to No3 – it’s highest position for almost 1 ½ years, while ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ is up one place to No7, sales climbing by 38%. ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ (+7%) and ‘Fight Night Round 4’ (+68%) both witness strong increases in sales to the PS3 versions, however ‘World at War’ still drops 2 places to No8, while ‘Fight Night’ makes its way back into the Top 10, up 4 places to No9.

There is still room for 2 new releases in the All Formats Top 10 despite competition from PS3 hardware bundled titles - 505 Games debuts at No6 with ‘IL2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey’ and Square Enix’s RPG on PSP ‘Dissidia: Final Fantasy’ is new at No10.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 37, 2009

There are 6 new entries in the Top 40 this week, three of which make the Top 5, two of which constitute the games industry’s own ‘Battle of the Bands’ as ‘Guitar Hero 5’ and ‘The Beatles: Rock Band’ go head-to-head.

The new No1 is Activision Blizzard’s ‘Guitar Hero 5’ which is the first in the series to take an All Formats No1 placing – both ‘Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock’ and ‘Guitar Hero: World Tour’ (the fourth in the series) reached No4 on the All Formats Chart. Codemasters debut at No2 with ‘Colin McRae: Dirt 2’, one place higher than that achieved by the original ‘Colin McRae: Dirt’ back in week 25, 2007. Eidos’ ‘Batman: Arkham Assylum’ drops from No1 to No3 (-60%) and at No4 we have the last of the big 3 new entries, EA’s ‘The Beatles: Rock Band’ debuts higher than the highest position achieved by either of the previous Rock Band titles (record for this series held by original ‘Rock Band’, No6 in week 21, 2008).

505 Games’ ‘IL2 Sturmovik’ has a storming second week, down just one position to No7 as sales only drop 3% over the initial week. The other new entries this week are Eidos’s ‘Championship Manager 2010’ at No13 (Beautiful Game Studios), Eidos’ ‘Mini Ninjas’ at No15 (IO Interactive, of ‘Hitman’/’Kane & Lynch’ fame - Magic Pockets DS version only) and South Peak Games’ ‘Section 8’ debuting at No22 (Timegate Studios).

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 38, 2009

EA’s latest edition to their illustrious racing franchise, ‘Need for Speed: Shift’, debuts at number No1 this week.

Developed by the brilliantly named and newly formed London based Slightly Mad Studios, with the PS3 coming out as the top format with 52% of the sales, while Xbox 360 takes 44% and PC and PSP have the remaining 5%. This means that both Activision Blizzard’s ‘Guitar Hero 5’ and Codemasters’ ‘Colin McRae: Dirt 2’ shift down to No2 and No3 respectively. Eidos’ ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ also moves down one place to No4, with Nintendo’s ‘Wii Sports Resort’ relaxing at No5. The only other new entry in the Top 10 this week is Bethesda Softworks’ ‘WET’ which splashes down at No6. EA’s ‘The Beatles: Rock Band’ drops three places to No7 while Activision Blizzard’s ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ stays entrenched at No8. Nintendo keeps apace with ‘Wii Fit’ at No9 and EA’s ‘Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10’ rounds off the Top 10.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 40, 2009

It’s the last week of September, the end of Quarter 3 and the market receives a well-timed boost from 2 format-specific titles debuting at No’s 1 and 2. Microsoft’s Xbox 360 ‘Halo 3: ODST’ debuts at No1 exactly 2 years after ‘Halo 3’.

The aforementioned ‘Halo 3: ODST’ was released on Tuesday 22nd September and such was the demand that it sold 64% of its week 1 sell-through in the first 24 hours. It ranks at No12 in terms of biggest week 1 sell-though for a single format title. ‘Halo 3’ debuted on Wednesday 26th September 2007 with Day 1 accounting for 65% of its initial week, but week 1 sales of ‘Halo 3’ were far greater which explains why that title is currently the 4th biggest single format title ranked by week 1 sell-through (behind ‘GTA: San Andreas’ PS2, ‘GTA IV’ 360 then ‘GTA IV’ PS3).

The other big single format launch this week is Nintendo’s DS ‘Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box’ which debuts at No2, one place higher than that ever achieved by the original ‘Professor Layton And The Curious Village’ which this week enjoys a sales uplift of 36% and climbs 5 places to No18. Last week’s No1 is forced down to No3 even though EA’s ‘Need For Speed: Shift’ enjoys a sales surge of 7% over last week. Also new this week is Activision Blizzard’s ‘Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2’ debuting at No7 and NCSoft just miss out on the Top 10 as PC MMO ‘Aion’ debuts at No11. The last new entry is EA’s ‘MySims Agents’, in at No16 on DS & Wii.

UK TOP 40 ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - Week 40, 2009

‘FIFA 10’ scores the biggest All Formats No1 launch since GTA: IV, generating 48% more sales than its predecessor ‘FIFA 09’ managed when it was launched exactly a year ago.

It goes without saying that it is the biggest ever launch of a FIFA game, becoming the 2nd biggest all formats launch ever in the UK behind GTA IV, edging past GTA: San Andreas (which admittedly was launched only on PS2, while ‘FIFA 10’ is on XB360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii and PC). As with last year’s FIFA, Xbox 360’s share is 2 percentage points more than PS3 as Microsoft’s format generates 48% of sales, PS3 46% with 6% on the remaining formats). ‘FIFA 09’ sold 42% on Xbox 360 and 40% on PS3 in its launch week, with the remaining formats securing a much larger 18% share. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are now respectively the 5th and 6th fastest selling single format releases.

Nintendo’s ‘Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box’ holds on to 2nd place as sales of last week’s No1 ‘Halo 3: ODST’ slip 75% to No3, only 300 sales behind. ‘Need for Speed: Shift’ moves down one place to No4 ahead of ‘Wii Sports Resort’ which enjoys a 33% jump in sales thanks in part to the new £179.99 Wii Sports Resort hardware bundle. ‘Guitar Hero 5’ remains a Top 10 contender, dropping down 2 places to No6, while EA’s ‘MySims Agents’ sneaks into the Top 10 in its second week of launch, up from No16 to No7. ‘Gran Turismo’ on PSP’s UMD format is off the mark at No12. Coinciding with the launch of Sony’s new media-less PSPGo console, the Playstation Network download version of ‘Gran Turismo’ was offered free to early adopters. There are new entries for Tecmo Koei’s ‘Ninja Gaiden: Sigma 2’ on PS3 at No26 and Deep Silver’s Oblivion-style RPG ‘Risen’ at No29.
