McMad Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I closed the page as soon as I saw 'Head Mounted Display'.
raven_blade2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 We need to know what the Home button does. A video would be nice. We have seen absolutely nothing of the Console GUI and we also want to see what the Online interface is like(Virtual Console) included.
ViPeR Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Only information I want to know is price, date and EVERYTHING about the online service. At the moment there seems to be a general impression that it's going to be as limited as the DS, which i'm afraid just wouldn't be acceptable (only 4 players online, pff). C'mon I know we're getting it for free but surely it can be better than that.
Cleveland_Jr Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 We need to know what the Home button does. I would assume there would be a homepage on the browser that sums up all your online info...and the home button would go back there...? The home button is the last thing i want to know about the wii...
system_error Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Nintendo Germany said it will be under 250€ in Europe - that includes the UK aswell. Just to be correct we have to assume that it could launch for 249.99€ here in Europe.
Guest Stefkov Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I'm sure Nintendo will make it simple so that we cannot share our VC games. I'm guesssing that each console will have a specific number. Then when you have downloaded the game, it automatically asigns that game with your number, like an encryption. You can transfer it onto your PC. However because of that encryption you cant give it to anyone else, because it is assignd to your Wii. something i just thought of. Also we don't know how big these games, that these Live arcade games are gonna be. I have a feeling that when you start up your Wii for the first time, it'll ask you the same old quesions of fate and time, however another option will appear. Where would you like to save 1) saved games .... 2) VC games.... 3) downloaded content etc. then i think that it would have a pull down option, choose the Wii 512 memory, choose the expanion SD port or choose other, and have a HDD plugged in. Then if you select the HDD, and when you come to save whatever onto it, if its not in or turned on, it;ll warn you saying, it could not detet it, would you like to save it here or here. then you can transfer it onto the HDD when its on again. I would hate to be asked everytime where i want to save it so that would be a nice option i think.
Kazzahdrane Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I would have thought it would make sense to have an online VC profile, rather than locking VC purchases to a physical machine. That way if your Wii breaks and you need to get a new one you just log in with your existing profile and download your games again. This is the way Valve's Steam system works on the PC and I'm very happy with it.

But if nintendo will allow VC downloads to be stored on the SD cards/mass storage devices, i can't see how can they make it safe. If it's just an encription, hackers will crack it before they even know they did it. But then again, all comes down to moral values, because you can download console emulators and roms to your pc, pretty easily.

It depends on the encryption and even if the encryption is hacked Nintendo has a few ways to protect their property. If the content is digitally signed and requires a online connection it might be hard to overcome that!
Shino Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 They can use file hash comparison and RSA encryption like they do with DS games.
Cube Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 Its so close to impossible that its true, but I want to believe it!!!! ...seriously how much trouble must have someone gone to to make that seem legit?! It would have taken forever! Whats with all the fake "crumpled paper" effect, then? Updating first post ASAP

If they have VC games, it's because they have internet, and if they have internet, nintendo can require that the games be checked whenever they want.
Cleveland_Jr Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Whats with all the fake "crumpled paper" effect, then? yeah like I said, its totally impossible that its true, but it would be nice if it were.
