I bought two lame seated tickets for the 23rd December at Earls Court. Bought them for myself for my birthday present (birthday is the next day), taking my brother along. Should be great.

Listen to the new album a little, and in all fairness some of the songs aren't great, but I reckon they'll grow on me if I listen to them more.

If you wanna get into standing, what you could do is get someone you know who has standing tickets to go inside with another person who has a standing ticket, then take their ticket once their inside, bring them outside, and go in with you again. Easy as pie.

I see everybody here arent actually maiden fans. They just like the instantly likable classics like run to the hills, Number Of The Beast (from that album), you like 2 mins to midnight + aces high (powerslave) the trooper from piece of mind. none of you have mentioned the epics which are actually the best songs, so none of you can be taken seriously.

AMOLAD rules, but most here fail to see this. You cant say its shit cause there are no filler tracks and some of the singing and guitar breaks are immense. You ned to give it some of your attention not just play a few tracks as background noise and then change the CD.

Im glad their playing their new album in its entirety, and if you arent, then you cant be a fan.

Firstly you're what 14.. The band were at their best before you were born, so don't give us none of this "you aren't actual maiden fans" crap. Secondly its called opinion, everyone has their own and they can be different from yours. The shock!!

As for my favourite song either The Trooper or Fear of the Dark.

I don't mind seating, at the time of the original sale I had no money. I was just glad somewhere had seats so I could at least get in and say that I've seen Maiden live.

I knew the 'its called an opinion' line would come up and also the 'you're not old old enough' part. But that isnt the point. Had i have been old enough i would have been a long-time fan and i can listen to all of their old stuff whenever i want. As for the opinion line - i said what i said because everyone was saying the album was shit as though it was fact and that they were saying it wasnt worthy of a whole playthrough.. well the majority think it is, so get over it.

'I was just glad somewhere had seats so I could at least get in and say that I've seen Maiden live' so you spent £32.50 so you can say youve been there... whats the point?

So if someone doesn't like the new album, then they can't be considered a maiden fan? Dude...:nono: some like the long progressive stuff in AMOLAD and some don't, you shouldn't tell them they're not proper fans because they have a different opinion to yours. Although I agree with you that the "epics" are their best songs (Hallowed Be Thy Name, Phantom of the opera, Fear of the Dark:)) there's nothing wrong in liking the "popular" songs. Run to the hills is popualr for a reason you know... maybe because it's fucking awesome?

I think by "Epic" songs he means stuff like Transylvania and Rime of The Ancient Mariner...

If you like Maiden, you should totally check out Iced Earth...at last count, Dantes Inferno was 16:30 mins long :)...still, nothing compared to Black Rose Immortal by Opeth...32 mins long (actually longer than the whole of slayers Reign in Blood album :heh:)

yeah, im not saying those songs are bad - they got me into maiden.

im not expecting everyone to like the new album but the people who dont are saying its shit which is unfair and are complaining about the setlist

You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to work out the point. The point is to say I've been to see Iron Maiden, one of my favourite bands. I don't care if I'm seated or standing, as long as I can hear them (which is given) and see them (even if at a distance). As for the price £73 is quite a fair price for me to enjoy two great bands, with my brother on the eve of my 19th birthday, and will probably stay in my memory as one of the best Christmas' ever.
