khan Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Sorry for copy and paste but here's the full story. According to a job listing on Radical Entertainment's website, the company is hiring a "Revolution Programmer" to work on Nintendo's next-gen console. Based on the job description, it looks as if a "3rd person action" game is in the works. What do you guys think? Sources: Revolution Report, Radical Entertainment, nintendoplayers
raven_blade2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Another developer to the list. I must admit im enjoying each time a new publisher/developer shows definitive interest. There must be good 3rd party support this time, there has to be.
DCK Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Nice one. I think we can expect a quality title from them.
The fish Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I can't remember what they made...what did they make?
Nintendork Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I can't remember what they made...what did they make? They had the Hulk license, Simpsons racing games which was based on the Crash team racing engine.. and they also got the Scarface license. I'm not excited about this in anyway, really.. they seem to just be another developper riding the wave behind developpers like EA who are hardly pushing the industry forward. I hope they have what it takes to make an original game or I doubt they'll last a year developping for Revolution. But I guess it assures us that we'll have a Mario Kart-esque Simpsons game which appears to have sold rather well.
Stabby Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 Has anyone noticed that they only need 1 man to port over a game to the Rev? Well I havent, but it's being discussed at GAF This would mean 2 things: a) Revolution won't have special techniques to make graphics look better, otherwise you'd need more than one man to master it b) Revolution graphics will be almost on par with Xbox 360 and PS3. Downgrading a game takes quite a lot of work, or you'd have to slaughter the game and make a shitty port. http://www.radical.ca/open_positions.cfm Another interesting quote: * You will design, maintain and implement Revolution specific features. I don't recall the controller being multiple features of the Rev, so the third secret won't be anything stupid like analog shoulder buttons.
mike-zim Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 or they need 1 extra man! they might be able to use the existing team but need 1 extra for making tea and stuff. didn't they make games for the Cube?
monkeyDluffy Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 maybe its just that easy that one man can create a great looking port!
