Konfucius Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 The story is true. The music video is "fake"http://www.keithschofield.com/et/std.html In reality Atari bulldozed the games and had sement over them So that there wouldn't bee any pillaging. What this is actually true, I always thought this was a joke. Pretty cool video btw.
DiemetriX Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 yepp IT's true. One of many Sources: http://www.snopes.com/business/market/atari.asp Atari, stuck with millions of games and consoles that were largely unsellable at any price, sent fourteen truckloads of merchandise from their plant in El Paso, Texas, to be dumped in a city landfill in Alamogordo, New Mexico in late September 1983. In order to keep the site from being looted, steamrollers crushed and flattened the games, and a concrete slab was poured over the remains.
Mr_Odwin Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Belongs in the official thread. Mod or not.
