Getting a bit annoyed with the fact that PS (and I assume Xbox) still hasn't gotten the updates...they include some nice balance changes.

Anyways, gonna have a little time today so will defo try to get some more Green Stake wins :D

Cavendish gave, and Cavendish hath taken away.

1 in 1000 chance that Joker gets destroyed. Happened to me twice now :( Instant run killer...

Love playing Flush Five :D 

Beat Green Stake with every Deck. Now I kinda want to wait for the patch to - finally - be released because I think the small balance changes might actually help a lot. But then again, I can't stop playing so... :p

Think I'm going to go for a 100,000,000 hand now to unlock the final Joker. Blue Deck, White Stake, let's go.

Wahey! Finally beat White Stake with all the base decks!

Just moved on to Red Stake… and I beat it on my first attempt with Yellow Deck.  Nice :cool:

Looks like the issue with patches on PS and Xbox is due to the fact that there are now new versions in the stores thanks to the PEGI bullshit. And for some reason both the old and new versions don't get updated ::shrug: At least that's how I understand the report in the Discord.

I hope that once this gets resolved there's even more balance updates included :p

Anyways, I'm currently making my way through Blue Stake, though it's early days.

The game plays better with a touch screen than with buttons… so yeah.  A mobile version would play perfectly fine.

Yeah, that, and you can play it anywhere. I know you can take the Switch anywhere but I already take my mobile everywhere and the battery lasts much longer, so there's that.

That game actually looks legit interesting, but I see it got announced/released on March 3rd… yeah, that’s some very unfortunate timing.

Can’t imagine that they expected another casino game roguelike to suddenly appear a couple weeks before and just utterly steal its thunder :laughing:

(Yes, I purchased it on the Ante 8 Small Blind and purposely timed my hand usage to make it kick in at the last moment to save myself ;))

I’ve been working on a few different things, but I wanted to share that a 1.0.1 patch is almost ready for testing and will probably be available on PC in a week or two (barring changes). Console updates would follow as fast as they can get approved.

This is a pretty meaty balance update. Some Jokers have totally new effects, some stakes have been entirely reworked, blue seals are much better, and I’ve made some changes that will make early antes slightly more engaging/forgiving without removing the RNG that I love in this game. My list of 1.0.1 changes has probably 50 items at this point. My hope is that difficulty remains the same level but overall player experience is improved across the board.

I don’t want to get into too many specifics but I’m swapping 2 of the Stake effects with 2 new Jokers stickers akin to the ‘eternal’ idea, since I adore that design so much. I really think you’ll all love it!

This will be the first update of its kind since launch, but those of you that have played the demos will know these kinds of updates are a regular and really fundamental part of my design process. Iteration/change is how Balatro becomes a better game for everyone. I don’t think it’s perfect in current state and I want it to be fun for me and all of you. I’m sure some will be frustrated that they had to play and grind the game when it was in a worse state but it was and continues to be representative of what I’m capable of as a solo dev. I don’t think that should preclude me from improving the game for the future even if it takes time! I may be slow but watch me go 🐢

Just for fun here is a specific leak - 8 ball will have a totally new effect: 1 in 4 chance for a played 8 to create a Tarot card when scored

Got Balatro on Steam today so my Steam Deck will get some love again and my crippling addiction can get even worse.

Crazy how the little changes already made (foil giving +50 chips, mult cards giving +4 mult, and a few more) got me cruisin' through Black Stake.

Only three more Decks to clear at that level and then I can move up to Blue Stake. I will probably wait for the next patch before doing that, though.

Holy crap!! I actually managed to beat Small Blind of Ante 12!!!

So it IS possible!!! (sadly I died right afterwards as I just couldn’t pull the cards I needed)

Anyway, that’s Red Stake defeated with all decks now.  Onto Green Stake!

Only Erratic Deck left for Black Stake. On PS5, that is. I really need to get to the Steam Deck version.
