I know it’s a loss story and socials based than the Persona games and more focused on the dungeon crawling side so is it still good? I was thinking about grabbing it while it’s cheap on Switch for something else to play when the Switch 2 arrives.

They tend to be interesting in that regard, but it is a lot lighter, because as you said, the gameplay is the main focus. And I'm wondering, when you say it's cheaper, are you referring to Shin Megami Tensei V, or Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance? Because Vengeance is the "Persona 5 Royal" version. More stuff, extra story route. Unless you're me, who already played the original, you're likely gonna get more out of Vengeance. 1

I bought it anyway as I figured I really should try one of the main series at some point. Will be a while before I get to it though as I’ve bought way too many rpgs in the last few weeks.
