Fierce_LiNk Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 Thanks to @Retro_Link for finding this. SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, creators of the groundbreaking Amnesia and Penumbra series. Coming to PC and PS4 September 22nd 2015. The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening. Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare. The only way out is to do something unimaginable.
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 Anyone else get an Alien Isolation vibe? I did at the start but then it seemed to go off slightly in another direction. I know absolutely nothing about this developer or Amensia and Penumbra.
Nolan Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 I did at the start but then it seemed to go off slightly in another direction. I know absolutely nothing about this developer or Amensia and Penumbra. Never played Amensia but I know the premise is a non confrontational (more run and hide than fight) first person horror game. They're good and well received though. This just feels like alien because now it's sci-fi. Looks plenty unique regardless.
Jonnas Posted May 31, 2015 Posted May 31, 2015 Amnesia has brilliant atmosphere, and this looks to be a sci-fi version of that. I pre-emptively recommend this game. And also, go play the first Amnesia, it's an amazing game (I hear the second one is bland and uninspired, but it also had a different developer behind it). By the way, this reminds me that I have the Penumbra games in my backlog. I should go play those.
