Ike Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 The team was Scizor, Scyther, Volcarona, Escavalier, Galvantula & Armaldo. Though, I have recently sorted a Scolipede, which has taken many a Pokémon down, and am testing out Mega Pinsir I'm guessing Volcarona/Galvantula/Armaldo can handle Charizard? I'd imagine he's a pretty big threat since he's so popular. Mega Pinsir was my first step into the world of raising a Pokemon in a completely specific way, with IV's where I needed them to be, effort value trained and with an ideal nature and I fucking loved the results. It's insanely strong as it is, but the thing just turns ridiculous if you get the opportunity to use Swords Dance. Mine's adamant, but I may try for a Jolly natured Pinsir to see what I prefer as the extra speed is always something I've kind of wanted for the guy. Talking about breeding though, I was going for a 5IV Timid Froakie with Protean the other day and wound up hatching a shiny one without a perfect Special Attack stat and with Torrent as the ability ;__; Eighty fucking percent chance of inheriting the mothers ability and it failed me at a critical moment! haha Yeah, that's why I hate this breeding malarkey. Gen VI made it a bit easier I suppose.
Serebii Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) I'm guessing Volcarona/Galvantula/Armaldo can handle Charizard? I'd imagine he's a pretty big threat since he's so popular. Yeah, that's why I hate this breeding malarkey. Gen VI made it a bit easier I suppose. Galvantula is able to, with Thunder, but Armaldo...absolutely. My shiny Armaldo is a beast. It's a shame it can't be used in any official tournaments anymore, but that's necessary to remove hacks and RNG abused Pokémon, I guess. Volcarona, not so much. If you want to watch an awesome use of Galvantula, watch this video in your Vs. Recorder. A nice clean sweep, all thanks to Galvantula: DEQG-WWWW-WWW5-YWJ2 It was a battle between me and a friend. He insisted on Single Battles, knowing how much I hate them. Best two battles of three. This is the third and most enjoyable to watch. The first one was closer, but because I panicked and messed up. A nice clean sweep, all thanks to Galvantula:DEQG-WWWW-WWW5-YWJ2 Is that the right battle? Your Galvantula went down to Perish Song Mega Gengar(!?), you swept with a Malamar (his ability seems broken if you ask me, did he get "banned" or something I don't see it used very often). Can you not watch random videos anymore? Only had the option to search via code.

My Malamar wouldn't have been able to sweep if it wasn't for Galvantula Nope, can't watch random ones, don't recall you ever being able to.
Serebii Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Oh I see, because of Sticky Web? Yep yep In other battles, it has done well also. It has CompoundEyes so Thunder almost always hits. Life Orb to do even more damage and Bug Buzz & Energy Ball for other coverage
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Damn guys.... why didn't we have immense battles back in Oct??? Back then everyone wanted to breed, while my battle requests were declined. So about breeding... Say I wanted a Protean Froakie with the egg move Toxic Spikes. Would the Greninja that breeds have to be female for this to happen? Or can can it come both ways? (if the poison pokemon was female).

The parent with Toxic Spikes then has to be the male Pokémon, specifically an Omanyte, Omastar, Skrelp or Dragalge that know the move.
Ike Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Anyone have a protean Froakie for trade? Not sure what I have to offer.

(Know the move, as in have it in their four move-set?) Anyone have a protean Froakie for trade? Not sure what I have to offer. Last time I was on, players were given them away like nothing... I had like 3 Pro Froakies from the wonder trade alone. (dont have the game or console anymore, would have traded if I did).
Serebii Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Thank you, sir! (Know the move, as in have it in their four move-set?). Yep, the father has to know it for it to pass.

I'll give you a female one so you can breed it as you see fit, trade whatever you like for it. Just in case we don't have our friend codes exchanged: 0430-8259-3046 SCRAP THAT, I do have you registered haha Edited March 26, 2014 by Debug Mode

Either that or SLOWPOKEs. Haven't got a regenerator one, sadly.

Ah sorry I didn't check whilst trading! Haha But thanks for the dragon dance Charmander! Sorry the Froakie isn't perfect, but it's bloody hard getting a perfect, female one DX

Hope the Charmander is OK, I don't feel like it was an even trade but I don't think I have anything else good enough.

Haha felt pretty even to me, I have quite a few protean Froakies so the fact I got a dragon dance Charmander for it is way more than I was expecting!
Agent Gibbs Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Really need to get back into finishing this game fully, i'm tempted to move all my pokemon to pokemon bank and replay the game bank is awesome, i don't need to buy the second game and trade between myself anymore

Plus, Pokémon Bank will be the generational transfer tool over the next few gens too
Agent Gibbs Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Oh yeah well there is that, but thats what trading over the nintendo network is all about! X + Y plus pokemon bank are the greatest, its like a pokemon Renascence this gen
Ike Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Already bred my 31/x/31/31/31/31 Timid Protean Froakie, thanks again @Debug Mode! Thinking about making a physical one now. A Toxic Spikes set sounds interesting as well. Edit: Bought a Pokemon Bank sub, need to move some Pokes from D/Pt/HG to my copy of Black...
ChloboShoka Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Gen VI was the first time I fully cared and understood IV breeding and EV training. Before I would slap 31 ivs and 252 evs into everything because hacking was new to me in gen 4 and wanted to experiment. So x&y was the first time I completed the dex without hacking. It feels a lot more rewarding and my team is a lot better in gen VI, then it was in gen 5 & 4. There's a vgc tournament coming up and I am unable to take part because hyper voice sylveon along with other pokebank mons are banned. I've never entered one before. Debug Mode Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Finally did a 50-win streak at Battle Maison, the first time I've ever reached and beaten the second, final boss of any post-game battle game. Feels good having a golden trainer card, feels even better now that my friend has looked at my team and finds it really unusual that I won haha. Here's what I used and in the order that I use them (though only the first slot counts heh) Goodra Nature: Bold Ability: Hydration (oddly useful, would prefer the HA though) Item: Assault Vest Spread: 252 HP, 252 SP Atk, 6 DEF Dragon Pulse Flamethrower Sludge Wave Thunderbolt Greninja Nature: Timid Ability: Protean Item: Life Orb Spread: 252 SP Atk, 252 Spd, 6 Atk Rock Throw Dark Pulse Surf Ice Beam Pinsir Nature: Adamant Ability: Hyper Cutter/Aerialite (The most important being the latter) Item: Pinsirite Spread: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, 6 SP Def X Scissor Sword's Dance Facade Earthquake
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Getting a new 3DS tomorrow and Pokemon, so hopefully some of you can re-add.

Swap the Def evs with the Sp Atk evs and Hydration for Gooey. I'm going to a streetpass event on April and we have to cosplay as our own gym leaders. Doesn't have to be types, could be particular themes. I chose fantasy. My planned team Rapidash Bellossom Mightyena Gallade Goodra (Different to Maya, but shiny.) Florges (I got two shiny florges. One blue and one yellow. I also got a red one that's none shiny. Not sure which one to go for but the non-shiny one is the better one competitive wise.) I also got an Ace Attorney themed team that I use to the occasional battle spot battle and for Battle Maison. Lucario - Phoenix Edgeworth - Aegislash Blackquill - Staraptor Trucy - Sylveon (Shiny) Franziska - Mega-Gardevoir (Shiny) Maya - Goodra Edited March 30, 2014 by ChloboShoka
Ike Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Got a Sylveon trained up (boy it's a pain evovling Eevee into this). Not sure if I should give it toxic or not but I like the current moveset. What's the quickest way to level up? Been using the Battle Mansion(sp?) but some extra methods would be nice.
