Yvonne Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 1. most votes makes it harder to be mafia, account for that 2. death miller is harsh, life miller is interesting (and makes cop interactions less "haha ur ded") 3. too much target swapping makes tactics difficult 4. don't put any friggin lie detectors in without nerfing them
Sheikah Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Just thinking, logically, disguising as someone shouldn't necessarily mean you'd take all hits meant for the person they're disguising as (or take their redirects/roleblocks). It's possible to conclude that someone disguising would have a 50/50 chance of being on the receiving end of an ability/attack.
Yvonne Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Hrmm, I don't like coin toss mechanics, I like partial information games to be deterministic. If you introduce luck as well people can get apathetic about solving it
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 I think you have to be careful with the mafia's ability to mess things up info-wise. It can overpower them, especially if the town isn't being very active. Untrustworthy information wears out people's incentive to try to figure things out. Townies that mess with info or targets are almost universally hated, just like the death miller. It's all a matter of balance. If the town has too many info-gathering roles, it's not fair for the mafia, and if the mafia has too many info-manipulating roles, it's not fair for the town.
Jimbob Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Yeah, that invisable target swapper role was tricky. Needs to be not-so hidden for next time for whoever takes said role on.
