Murr Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Hello! Random thread, and random question. What is this part on a Gamecube commonly known as? I've been searching for it on Google as Gamecube Lid? Secondly, can you get custom lids anywhere still? or maybe even a MGS or Resi4 one? I've looked on eBay, and it's literally just bringing back the limited edition consoles, I was wondering if there was anywhere i can just get some 'Lids'?
Sméagol Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 (edited) http://www.nesrepairshop.com/online_shopping/index.php?productID=387 I don’t know the “official” name, but I’m sure you can find the special editions or even custom ones if you search Google & Ebay. I was sure the NOA online shop had those for sale, but they don’t now at least. Still.. If you want the original, perhaps you should simply try customers service to see if they have it as a spare part. Edited July 8, 2011 by Sméagol
Ville Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Hmm, I don't know which magazine it was, but they gave away a free semi-transparent GC lid back in the day. There were a few ready theme "discs" included, like Sunshine and Rogue Leader, but basically you could print out anything to put in there Still have mine, makes the Cube look totally rad!
Magnus Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 They seem to be called nameplates? Though it's hard to find any real information on them. Most of the non-standard nameplates were only included with special edition GameCubes, so you're unlikely to find many sold separately today. Though if you're a huge Metroid Prime fan, I found these very pricey nameplates.
arab_freak Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 They're called jewels. You can find quite a lot of them by googling "gamecube jewel."
