stuwii Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I own a Ipod touch 8gb and my itunes library is linked to a computer that is currently usable. However linking my ipod to a different account has created an issue, I cannot. 1. Transfer files to the ipod touch 2. Transfer files from the ipod touch. 3.Get help from apple as their instructions exclude ipod touch Any ideas, also some files are not from the itunes store
Nintendohnut Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Yeah... this topic is pointless if you don't say what it is that you want to do. What do you actually want to do? And why can you not just use the original computer?
Emasher Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Have you tried linking your computer to the new iTunes account?
stuwii Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 Thing is most of my ipod is not itunes purchases, I can't put a cd on to the itunes then on to my ipod. I cannot transfer the library on my ipod on to the new computer. The original computer has died.
Cube Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Unless Apple have completely changed the system since I had my iPod, you'll have to connect your iPod to your new PC and format it, then you'll be able to add stuff to it (of course, you'll lose all the stuff on it now and will have to re-add it all).
Shorty Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 You can get all your music etc off your iPod using sharepod http://www.getsharepod.com/

Will take a while.. which is fine, but I would like to keep my game data
Emasher Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) Can't you just take the HDD out of your old computer and put it into your new computer (or an external enclosure) and get the iPod backup files off of it? Oh, and make sure you ground yourself when opening your computer up, and make sure the power supply is off and unplugged. Edited December 30, 2010 by Emasher
Goafer Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Can you not just sign into the account that is linked to the iPod on both computers? Not sure how it works with iPod touch's, but my iPod video has been used on 3 different computers now and I haven't had a problem at all since I've always used the same iTunes account.
Emasher Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 The problem is that he wants to be able to restore the other Data on the iPod after he sets it up with the new computer. iOS backups aren't linked to your account, they're just saved on that computer.
Goafer Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Ah, I know nothing of iPod touches and OS. My bad.
