Just wondering if anyone else has ever suffered a GRRF a new term I'm hoping will catch on meaning (Game Rental Return Fail)

It's where you rent a game and attempt to return it, to have some unknown factor prevent you from returning the game, and you have to abort and try again later.

Was thinking everyone could post their GRRF stories below, I'II go first.

So I've rented a game called Real Heroes Firefighter from Blockbuster (it was average, and got stuck on 7th level due to an ingame glitch)

I wanted to return it tonight (not due back till tomorrow) since after work tomorrow I have to drive to the Peak District, so wanted to get it out the way.

But alas the traffic on Broad street was a total Sat nightmare (Taxis parked up either side of the road, taxis doing u-turns, red lights all the way down the street, and drunken people stumbling all over the place) Anyone who knows Birmingham will know what I'm talking about. At the bottom of Broadstreet there was even more traffic.

I'm talking massive traffic congestion and the police appeared on scene, so I thought- fuck it-not going to spend all evening in traffic and returned home (Hence my GRRF)

Have to do it tomorrow, damm annoying.

I once walked all the way to the post box and realised that I had left my rentals at home. I had to waste an entire 64 seconds walking home, unlocking the doors, getting the games and returning to the post box (locking my door behind me on the way out). What a pain.

People still rent from blockbuster is this day and age?! I thought people weren't and that's why they are going bust!

Agreed, lovefilm should really have been the final nail in the coffin for Blockbuster. While some places have boarded up their windows for some reason people still think it's a good deal to blow 8/9 quid on two rentals and then be charged for bringing it back late.

As someone who was once a former employee, BB is seriously not good value for money. Lovefilm is great though, find any post box and drop in walk away no late fees.

I have a Blockbuster membership, but I use it for trading in games (in fact, I swapped the two Doctor Who games for Blops today) as it's the only game store in walking distance.

They have the odd good offer, too (when I was looking for a Wii back in May/June, Blockbuster conveniently had the best offer on at the time).

For people asking: Why would you rent from a highstreet rental store now?

Because when you walk into a store, you don't have to pick up ten games/dvds, take them to the counter and have them choose at a whim which 3 you get to take home that day.
