Except that UC does not make you hulk out on everything around when your doing badly.

But yeah Atlus seem to be very content with releasing their RPG´s on the PS2 :/

I can't believe how whiney people are about things like rpg's. I dont see how people can have so much tolerance for them, I've played 20+ JRPG's all the way through in my life and I am SICK fed up of them. Good for a while yes, very tedious nowadays for me. I don't give a shit how long they are, quality over quantity for gameplay for me.

I'd MUCH rather have stuff like this than any rpg's. The Trauma Centre games are awesome. Actually original and engaging concepts that work great on Wii. This seems along the same lines but a bit more unrealistic and "out there", probably to introduce new gameplay mechanics, which I'm all for.

Or wait for info on the games.

IGN

The makers of the Trauma Center series aren't straying too far from what they know for their newest title. In development over at Atlus for Wii, Hospital promises to bring more Wiimote-based operations and a dramatic storyline to Wii owners.

Director Daisuke Kanada explained some of the differences between Hospital and Trauma Center via a short commentary in this week's Famitsu, the place where word first broke about the game. Hospital is not a "surgical action" game like previous hospital-themed titles from the developers, he said. Instead, it attempts to make into a game all areas of a hospital.

Players will be able to select from six doctors: Hank, Maria, Tomoe, Mira, Gabriel, and CR-S01 (that last one is a prisoner number -- yes, one of the doctors is a convict). All characters have their own specialties. Mira actually appeared in Trauma Center: Second Opinion.

The dramatic areas of the game promise a fusion of manga and anime, with full voice for all the characters.

Despite Kanada's words, the game will have surgical actions as well, although we're not sure of the details just yet. The surgical action areas of the game do appear to make use of Wiimote motion controls. Two player simultaneous play support is also in the works.

Hospital is currently 30% done. A release date has yet to be finalized.

Looks and sounds great really. My only issue with the sequels before is that they were offering very little in the way of new gameplay. Finally this is some definite real progression.

Visual style for both art and in game graphics seems to have been tweaked a bit too which is cool. Going by memory New Blood was virtually identical to Second Opinion.

Not really... 16:9, better graphics and 480p

The original lacked all that.

And anyway and just for the record I stand for what I said in my first post.

I was talking about subtle differences such as the medical interface, character art and the overal visual look.

The kind of things people who appreciate the games notice and don't write them off for not being RPG's.

Apparently she's "Forensics", so that explains the leather dominatrix outfit.

...

However, I'm more confused about how that other woman can work in a kimono.

Random comment: I recently had a chance to play New Blood on co-op multiplayer. It's one of the most unique co-op experiences you can get and one where, without a doubt, having an extra partner is a massive helping hand.

The style of gameplay really promotes actually talking with the other player and telling each other what to do, etc too. More of an immersive co-op experience than you get in most shooters I'd say!

Never tried one of the "trauma" titles before. Not sure if it's my cup of tea...

Would love to try it at one of my mates, but I don't know anyone who has these :P

They should really lower the retail price of the first title in the series! ;)

Trauma Team has been redesigned from the ground-up to shed the series’ image of being completely inaccessible. Not only are the instructions clearer this time around, icons will pop up throughout operations hinting at which tool to whip out next. The vitals bar will also flash to tell you when to start pumping stabilizer into the patient.

Additionally, while surgery and the first-response missions are carefully-timed affairs where every second matters, some of the other missions won’t have time limits at all. In some of these, like endoscopy, you’ll still have to keep an eye on the patient’s vital signs. Others, like orthopedic surgery, will display a number of mistakes that you are allowed to make (in the form of heart-shaped icons).

An unlockable hard difficulty (easy and medium difficulties will be open from the start).

Each doctor’s story is independent of the others; however, as they all exist in the same ecosystem, there will be some overlap as their plots progress.

Right now, there are roughly forty operations in the game (this may change later in development), so you’ll progress through six or seven operations of each type.

Naomi a forensic specialist, her levels are more akin to a first-person adventure game similar to the Phoenix Wright series.

More realistic approach this time. Some of the futuristic medical equipment will still be there, but the “healing touch” is gone.

Endoscopy operations can be dangerous, and they require a high level of finesse and precision. These missions are less about the race-against-the-clock and more about maneuvering through the tubes and pathways that make up the body. The IR pointer is used extensively, and the developers claim that they’ve achieved 1-1 movement without the MotionPlus add-on.

Trauma Team will also feature the return of the co-operative multiplayer from New Blood. You’ll be able to tackle most of the gameplay types with a partner; one notable exception being the forensics operations, which are single-player only.

Trauma Team is currently scheduled for release in the “Spring” of 2010. We couldn't get anything more specific out of them.

You can find it around places like Gamestation for like £7.99.

Anyway glad to see even though it's only one of many components this time, surgery looks to have been improved further!

Really looking forward to this, all the Trauma Centre games really needed to elevate above "great" to "truly awesome" was a bit more variation. This has tons of it.

Problem is, only a few British stores ship to the mainland (the hut, zavvi and play). And these are exactly the stores that don't have regular offers on the trauma games.

Guess I'll wait until this one comes to the stores :)
