Been meaning to post this ages, back in the days there used to be a ton of great space combat games Wing Commander, Elite & Frontier (granted more than just combat) Free Space, X Wing Series and countless others...

It seems crazy used to be a great genre...only recent examples have been the Rogue Squadron games and Lylat Wars (the space levels in that have never been matched by the recent entries in the genre)

But low and behold today in a strange twist of coincidence Sony have copyrighted the title Starhawk which is being touted as a spin off/expansion for warhawk...

More importantly, and this does tie in, where the fuck is my Battlestar Galactica game?!Not the shitty XBL one.

I NEED it.

It got gobbled up by the bald space marine genre. Am I the only one to see the possibilities of a online space shooter?

Edit: Duh, Sony did.

The last 'Space Combat' game I recall playing was Stellar Assault, you need a Sega 32X to play it - or a japanese Saturn - but if you're a fan of the genre then it's definitely worth picking up if you can find it. :)

Isn't Warhawk supposed to be going into space or something? Sony patented (or trademarked?) SpaceHawk recently.

I could still never grasp the controls in WarHawk and I gave it a solid chance.

I hope StarHawk has a single player this time. Or maybe story based online missions so you could be either side.

Basically, for a BSG game I want this,
