Something amazing just happened. Was part of the story so wont give details but it ends all to briefly. It was VERY cool though.

 

EDIT: And now I cant get into the game after being logged out. Man is this beta annoying because there is so much promise but SOOO many issues.

Yes. Hence why its even more annoying. Must say, first beta I have played for an MMO so if I think about it, there are probably loads of issues to fix because there is just so much that can go wrong. Anyways, got my second chain skill. Much easier to kill now. Surprised at the number of times I have died and yet I am still below level 10!

 

EDIT: level of customisation is impressive as seeing alot of people running around who look like kids. Not just height wise but featuref/face wise too. Anyway choze, you on now? Need someone to talk to ingame as everyone here is chinese or korean.

This is the most polished MMORPG beta i have ever been to. AOC and Warhammer in comparison were nowhere near this. I havent crashed once yet here. Difficulty against mobs is tricky compared to Wow. You wont want to take on more than one much.

 

I'll be on tommorow. My gaming night was kind of messed up but did a ton of LBP. They were blown away by it. The Vs challenges specifically.

Reached assassin. was very cool as your character learns to glide and fly at that time too, as well as getting a whole bunch of skills.

Really want to get this when it comes out properly now. Actually want to play it now but the damn game wont let me back in.

Plus the beta runs out in afew days. Seems good but it needs work in places. Suppossedly important drops are not very good.

 

Highler level stuff is unknown. I'll wait and see how it turns out. The Koreans and Chinese should let us know.

Video is stangely enchanting. How does this MMORPG business work? Is it a set of quests where certain places you can communicate to random people? This is the sort of scale a Zelda game needs.

Yeah these games have kind of taken over from Zelda in the exploring aspect.

 

Trial out World of Warcraft if you are interested? Time consuming though.

There are people like in the South Park Episode, just not that many :p

 

Aion is something high on my list now. Its a nice looking MMO so far. Hopefully they do longer beta for outside Asia.

Beta still works. Playing it now in fact. Will have to test if this will still work tomorrow. If so, then you know why i may not be online. The more I play, the more I like it. Just got into a bit of crafting. A bit addictive, as the rewards, are sometimes what you need to do the next level of crafting. Japanese get a beta in july so I dont expect this to hit EU until much later this year

There is a few servers that are free...or were free again. May wanna check out a site called aionsource. I actually stopped before my time had expired as I wanted to A. get some more RAM and B. wait till its officially released over here as while it was good, I would rather play with people that I can actually communicate with. That said, the Chinese were very accomodating, often helping out when they thought i was in trouble, or helping translate pages of chinese texts on some forums i have been to for people who were looking into paying to play. Be careful cos this game is highly addictive.

AH forgot to reply to this. Pre-Ordered the Collectors edition of the game on Amazon, and thus I have received a beta key. Also get some nice little extras for the game: Lick the scroll down to see. Also managed to revive my guildwards account thanks the NCsoft storing my account details online. Shame I dont feel like guild ward anymore. Anyways, 75% downloaded so shud be done when I wake up tomorrow.

I'm really tempted to buy this. The lack of classes is something I'm worried about, perhaps a lack of options, I may be comparing this to WOW to much where there was an abundance of classes and trees in which to specialise.

 

The subscription setup is fantastic, you purchase 280 hours (or whatever it actually is) worth of play and can use that up as and when you wish. I always felt I had to cram as much time into WOW as possible to get my moneys worth. And as a casual player (compared the some) this may be cheaper than WOW.

• Is there PVP games? like Arathi Basin?
  
• Why is this game £10 extra to buy through Steam!? (I'd prefer to buy through steam)

IIRC level cap was 45 but has gone up to 50 after the 1.2 updated.

When it comes out for EU and US, game on disk will be at 1.5

It's PVP everywhere. Rift gates allow people from the other faction/race to come into your zone and attack you while leveling. Also, there is a particular area, cant remember what it's called, where it is PvPvE where you will be facing off against raid type enemies while facing off against the opposing race. Haven't gotten high enough in the betas to experience this yet though.

I did too but you get no benefits from steam. I.E. there is no steam overlay chat thanks to gameguard, no achievements, and the game has it's own, quite capable, updater and launcher which works independently of steam. So I see no real benefit.

 

If you pre-order now, you can get into the beta this coming friday. Im on the first server Azphel. But there will be a wipe before the open beta, then possibly another one before the people whom have pre-ordered, get a 48 hr head start.

I'd love to play this game, but i refuse to bastardise my Mac with windoze.

 

Looks like i'll be sticking with WoW for the time being It's where all my friends are.

 

Still, this game looks fucking cool
