goaferpersonalityprofile, part 2:

Primary school was largely uneventful. I was an only child and very shy.

I bit someone in year 1. He was being a tool and breaking the car I had just made out of some construction kit. I believe he was the new kid at the time too.

I'm fairly certain I learned what sex was in year 2. I can't remember not knowing. God bless friends older siblings.

The primary school wasn't an official Christian school, but we did do church stuff. I suppose you could say it was a loosely religious upbringing.

During one of the days that we got to go to secondary school to see what it was like before the big transfer, I burned my hand with a hot glue gun. It scarred, and I still have the scar. It's on the webbing bit between my thumb and finger of my right hand.

Secondary school was also largely uneventful. I was always good at maths and science. In the top sets for both. In primary school I never considered myself good at english, but apparently I was. I was put in top set for that too.

I met Happenstance during secondary school. He was in my tutor group and probably quite a few lessons. I had quite a good circle of friends, but I realise now that one person, maybe 2 were probably no good for my confidence. Just the type of person who always seems to play on peoples insecurities. He moved to America and hasn't been heard from since. What little contact I have with him reveals him to be an American frat boy douche now. All is good.

I took maths, science, english, double art, geography, german and resistant materials for GCSE. I started sixth form taking Maths, Physics, I.T and Psychology, but after a few days I dropped Maths for Media Studies. I stopped doing Physics after a year (we could only continue 3, that's the same everwhere right?)

Sixth form was awesome. I kind of wish I'd done more work, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

I can't remember whether it was the end of GCSE or A levels, but we did an awesome leaving prank. Whilst most people focused on disruptive pranks or vandalism, we chose to do one everyone could enjoy. There was a hole in the ceiling of one of the tutor rooms, so we got a pair of school trousers, stuffed them with paper, stapled some shoes onto the end and wedged it in the hole. Dinner ladies came in, not knowing whether it was real or not. Part of them wanted to yell "get down!", part of them wanted to know what was going on. It was genius. The teacher whose room it was kept them up for a while. They were still there when we actually left. I think they were up for months.

I decided not to go to Uni since I didn't want to commit to a certain career knowing how fickle I was. I decided to get a job until I figured out what career I wanted.

I was a bit of a layabout for the first few months after school. I signed up with a temp agency eventually and started work with a company called Faurecia (pronounced 4 see ah, although 4 E see ah makes more sense to me). I built the seats for the Rolls Royce Phantom for 5 years untill a few months ago when I was made redundant. It was a blessing in disguise I guess, since I got a good redundancy package (money to those who have never been made redundant) and I knew I'd never leave that place untill I was forced.

During my work years, I became more confident and less shy with new people. Mainly due to staff leaving and new ones joining quite often. Plus I had to train quite a few new people, so I kind of had to "man up and grow a pair".

I picked up my first digital camera when I bought a Samsung D500 camera phone. I took photos of everything. People at work made a few jokes about how I took pictures of "random crap". When I was on holiday in Devon or Cornwall, I bought a proper digital camera (Kodak Z650). I carried on taking photos with the Kodak untill about a year or so ago, when I got an Olympus E-510 digital SLR.

I've now decided I want to pursue a career in photography. I don't imagine it will be easy or well paid in the beginning, but I enjoy it a lot so it must be worth a try. I've just had an interview for a photographer with a school photography agency, which I'm waiting to hear back about a possible second interview. I also have another interview with the same agency for a different job, Photo Lab Technician, which is basically Photoshopping the photos. Both jobs are entry level, so won't be well paid. But it's a start.

If I don't get either of the jobs, I will be going back to college to take a full time photography course for 2 years. I have already taken and completed an evening course in black and white film photography. I can now take a picture from the camera to the final print entirely by myself. It was a really good time.

Thats all for now. More when I can be arsed.
