Pookiablo Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Lately, I've been considering the idea of selling my DS Lite and the few games that I have with it. At one point, I used to play my DS (that being the former model) and this one a lot but I can't honestly remember the last time I properly used it and at the moment it's just sitting in the draw, unused. I'm a big fan of Star Wars as some of you might know and I'm after one of the Force FX lightsaber. Problem is it'll cost me around £60 for the one I want...this would help me raise money for one! So, should I sell it? It's black and I have a few games and accessories. Share some ideas and let me know if perhaps you might be interested - it could just persuade me...
Eenuh Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 What lightsaber do you plan on getting? And that's so much cheaper than I ever paid for one. X3 Also, what games do you have for the DS?
Ganepark32 Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Well me personally, I always have the mind that if I don't use it after a certain amount of time then I'm unlikely to do so and so I'd get rid of it. I think you have to look at what you have with your DS and whether you see anything coming out not only in the near future but in the months down the line. Because it would be a bit stupid to get rid of your DS and then a few weeks/months later go 'Oh I wish I still had it because such-and-such is coming out on it.' In your case, I think you have to think more of which you'd rather have: the lightsaber thing or the DS and which will bring you more happiness/enjoyment. Simple as that really.
Tellyn Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 As Ganepark says, which one will bring you more enjoyment? From my point of view, the lightsabre will just sit there and give you bragging rights and the power to dazzle house guests. The DS has a back-catalogue and an upcoming flurry of awesome games, perfect for gaming at home or on long journeys. That's from my point of view, though.

I'd really like the Darth Vader one! It's quite hard to get hold of at a decent price though As for games, unfortunately not as many as I used to as some got traded! Zelda: Phantom Hourglass 42 All-Time Classics Brain Training Mario Kart DS Yoshi's Island Sonic Rush I also have a rather nice Mario leather/faux leather (not sure...) case for it A few pics are below... I like the lightsabers from a collectable perspective, plus I'm a great fan of Star Wars. The one I have right now was such a wonderful surprise present for Christmas from my parents I've been tempted by the odd DS game however, but I haven't bought anything for it since maybe 2 Christmases ago! Not even Chinatown Wars or that awesome 100 book collection have tempted me! Saying that, it is unusual for me to part ways with games and consoles! I'm not really into current-gen gaming, I feel that in some ways it's gone down the pan...although I do love the DS for what it offers! Wii is good fun but I don't find games nearly as enthralling as I used to. I shall ponder some more over this, many thanks for the great way of thinking! *Insert overused Ben Kenobi advice quote* The DS is a little on the daaaarrk side...
Ganepark32 Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I know exactly how it feels to have games not enthralling you like they used to. Going through it myself at the moment. It's whether you can see them getting better for you or not which is how I'm looking at it.
Pookiablo Posted March 29, 2009 Author Posted March 29, 2009 I'm not really sure, it came from a friend :S
Tellyn Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Well, if you do end up selling your DS, I'm interested in buying that from you (unless anyone knows where his friend may have bought it from! ).
ReZourceman Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I agree with Tellyn. Lightsabre might sit unused, unless you're....obsessed. If you do sell, how much for Phantom Hourglass? Is it in good/excellent condition.
