Choze Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/a137411/ps3-to-support-400gb-blu-ray-discs.html Will work on PS3. Presumably through firmware update.
Nolan Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Yea.........I can see this being either good or bad. It could cut down on required installs by taking Resistances method or having data redundantly copied multiple times to reduce search time to make up for the slow 2X speed. On the flip side, someone lazy may just cram it full as possible meaning a redonkculously long search time until Drive speeds are increased.....which won't help people using their PS3s as the only blu-ray player.
Daft Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 It'd be nice to have series on one disk. The thought of a 4 disk box (1 disk per season) set containing all of BSG makes me salivate.
LostOverThere Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I can't see this being a good thing at all. I mean c'mon, how much space do you want? Not to mention how much this will cost. "Hi, I'd like to buy the 9th Season of the Simpsons on Blu-Ray thanks" "That'll be $699 sir"
Shino Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I bet this will be mostly used for company backups, nothing as commercial as the 25GB. Speaking of the 25GB BD-R, it seriously needs a price drop, if they did that, more people would upgrade to BluRay drives. As it is, we might as well backup to a gold ingot.
