CooInTheZoo Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 My pc screen is ALOT sharper than my TV, so as i get my 360 next week i thought now would be the best time to find out how to hook it up to the pc. I need a VGA box or something right? can anyone tell me where to get them, how i would go about connecting it and how it works? Cheers m'dears!
Will Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Theres an official VGA lead coming out with the 360. Just buy one of those and you'll be enjoying lovely pictures from day 1.

Will Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Well it all depends on what monitor and tv you have. Purely the size factor would put me off using a monitor as I have a large TV. If yours are around equal size then its £20 well spent if you ask me.
CooInTheZoo Posted November 23, 2005 Author Posted November 23, 2005 Well the PC is an 18incher, my personal TV is a 24. Bigger is better obviously but the games will look a load of testicle compared to if i put it on the pc. the moniter is so sharp and bright..its sometimes a bad thing lol. I might order the cable in a week or so.
Jon Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Make sure your monitor can handle at least 1024 x 720, which is the minimum res needed for HD. Also unless you have a widescreen monitor the image will be letterboxed, so you will have borders round it.
Will Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Unless of course you choose one of the 4:3 resolutions to use.
DiemetriX Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I have a LCD TV with 1024,720 resolution with VGA. Am i able to show HD like quality with VGA?

DiemetriX Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Your monitor will be able to show HD. cool but why isn't my TV an HDtv? Are there other requerements for beeing a HDtv?
RoadKill Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I thought the resolution was 1280x720 ?? Edit: Confirmed, yeah, 720p is 1280x720, so your TV isn't HD, and scaling will probably be messy and blurry, but you can only try.
Will Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 What TV do you have DiemetriX? Its very hard to give any proper advice not knowing a bit more about it.

Iguess a TV has to have component 1280x720 to be called a HD tv
KingOfHyrule Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I've always wondered what GCN games would look like on a PC monitor - I have a 42" RPTV and they look great in Progressive Scan but I'm sure they'd be even better on an LCD monitor.
