flameboy Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Edge magazine have given this a 7/10 apparently. Haven't seen the review so can't post what was said about the game. Personally, regardless of the scores it's getting, I was getting it anyway as I enjoyed the demo, even though for a 2 hour+ download time it wasn't entirely worth the wait. Where'd you hear that from? Just wondered cos i'm a subscriber and not recieved my copy yet... I don't get the EDGE bashing on here. I don't think they are anywhere near as spot on as they once were with reviews. I think this is for a number of reasons. I still think though their scores are up there amongest the scores that people wait for with baited breath. tbh as well if they gave it a 7 that is still a good score for a game in a very overcrowded genre.
dwarf Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I swear the Helghast one was more accurate? I managed to kill people more easily with the H assault rifle, and when firing the ISA one the bullets went all over the place after the initial shot.
dwarf Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 The one you start off with is the ISA one right? If so I think the other one is better. Just seemed easier to pick people off. The other weapon that the Helghast has in the warehouse was the best though.
Nolan Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I haven't played yet, but I'll probably prefer the accuracy of the ISA rifle. Plus that scope (which isn't really if I'm thinking of the right one but oh well) is basically a Red Dot Sight (but green) and I love the Red Dot Sight in pretty much any FPS that has guns using it.

The other weapon that the Helghast has in the warehouse was the best though. The helghast rifle is woefully inaccurate but does have quite a power difference and if you can control it, you can be almost as accurate with it as the ISA rifle. Also, the pistol is more like a hand cannon IMO. Quite a meaty beast. And is the sub machine gun from the first game in this one, as that had a silencer and was ridiculously accurate over long ranges.
dwarf Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 17 days left until I get to frag MatTheHat online. Very excited. When it comes through in the post I'm going to have to shield the case from the onslought of cream. I can picture it now, running through the corridors and pumping lead into everyone's body, especially Flameboy.

LegoMan1031 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 The sad thing is, I still don't know why I am getting all this lip off you but its likely it will all be true... Maybe he can see into the future!? <cue scary music> lol Anyway, had another go at the demo before. Think i have settled on control scheme 'Alternate 2' (thats what i think it was called anyway). Might buy them grip things for the PS3 triggers coz it will do my head in trying to hold down L2 while in cover!
flameboy Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I dunno something catch but still N-E themed...can't remember what I called the resistance 2 one...hopefully get more people in on this one...
dwarf Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Haha Flame it's just a random choice dw dude haha. I'm still going to kick your ass though. Call the Clan: Dwarfs minions

Daft Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 If flameboy and I are in the clan you can call it 'No Expectations'. Pretty much sums up the belief I have in my multiplayer skillz. Otherwise 'N-E Fear' is the name I'm going to put forward.

Daft Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Haha I like it...same way I feel about my skills if I am actually honest! I guess that means we'll be the medics. :p N-E Fear? XD lol, I thought it was pretty funny. Are you suggesting adding a '?' on the end because I love that idea.

Daft Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Just like in Resistance co-op:bouncy: Judging from Left4Dead and R2 I'm insanely good at friendly fire so medic is pretty apt for me. :p Will probably be a mechanic as well me thinks.
WigglyJoe Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Guys, I'm having trouble understanding Choze in this thread. It's almost as if his words are disrupted by Killzone 2's cock being in his mouth constantly.
flameboy Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Well my copy of Edge just arrived and yes it did get a 7/10...but its words that matter. Here are a few of my choice quotes that get me excited for the game; A gun game in the truest sense, its bullets and ragdolls offer a literal take on the theatre of war, a rare pleasure since Goldeneye In fact few story driven games have been so much more dramatic in multiplayer. Freed of its narrative shackles, Killzone 2's deathmatches openly celebrate the tight controls.....hand made environments and technical beauty. Their main problem with the game is the story; without the first game's ambiguities, a sense of humour or even an once of intrigue its story stinks.
dwarf Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Guys, I'm having trouble understanding Choze in this thread. It's almost as if his words are disrupted by Killzone 2's cock being in his mouth constantly. OK but he is the Sony Spokesman so you'd expect him to big it up wouldn't you? Means no harm. He got into the beta so he wants to remind people of how awesome his experiences were. I know I would. maybe not to that extent though
dwarf Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 The classes sound great. So could I be someone that runs around really fast (boost ability) whilst being able to lay C4?
Daft Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 How often can you use boost? I'm definitely thinking I'm going to have turrets. Is there any benefit to being just one class instead of a combination?
dwarf Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Well it's better to have a nice combo, and it's cool because to combo you have to get a lot of XP I think.
Daft Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah, I was just wondering if there were skills you could only get by being just one class.
dwarf Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 So cloak and C4 then? Also, what does the 8x stand for in the diagram and what does it mean by the specialist? Is that the maximum amount you can use the ability or what you need to do to get the next unlock?
