danny Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 Hi im not a tech geek at all. So i have no idea what EDTV/HDTV is. I just noticed the option on the back of the mario kart case. Im guessing its something to do with HD. I thaught Wii did not have HD support. How do i go about activating this as i recently got a samsung HD tv. McPhee Posted August 2, 2008 Share Posted August 2, 2008 EDTV is Enhanced Definition TV, or 480p and 576p resolutions The HDTV label is Nintendo just trying to jump on a bandwaggon that they aren't part of. The Wii supports EDTV, but not HDTV. HDTVs support EDTV resolutions, therefore you can get 480p on your Wii using the compontent cables (and possibly the RGB cable? not sure on this one) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

danny Posted August 7, 2008 Author Share Posted August 7, 2008 Got a composite cable today. plugged it all in. changed the settings on the wii and maybe its just me but i cant tell the difference. and that was playing mario kart which is supposed to support it. Jackster Posted August 10, 2008 Share Posted August 10, 2008 You would be able to tell the different between using a composite cable anda component cable, but if you were using SCART RGB before and moved to Component it would be pretty hard to see the difference in my experience, even with 480p enabled.
