Chuck Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I usually would not have given 1 question a whole thread. I've got an old nano that hasnt been synced in a while. I put some tunes on my old computer that has the itunes that is connected to the ipod. Two nearly identical messages appear. Apparantly the disk is locked and it is unable to copy information. What do I doooo?
Cube Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Can you access the iPod through Windows Explorer? If so, can you copy stuff on and off the iPod? Edit: Does this help?
Chuck Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 Nope, it says it is write protected. Nah that didnt do anything positive
Guest Jordan Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 What did you do? Sit on it? Throw it against a wall? Or do those things just die fairly quickly? I mean, there has to be a reason for it not working.
Emasher Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Is the little switch at the top set to the "hold" side? (TBH I'm not sure if that would do it. I'll try it latter today).
thirtynine. Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 hold down menu and the middle button to do a hard reset. It that doesnt work then its deadededed.
AeroScap Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 try looking into the ipod using windows explorer with view hidden files on. Go into the itunes_control folder and delete a file I can remember the exact name something "lock". and see what happens when you try to resync or post all the files in itunes_control here and i'll identify the one it was
