Choze Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 I'm Valor and only have 17% of trophies - I've still got a shit ton of work to do - I've only recently started playing as a Squad and Platoon leader. Got the I Got 5 On It trophy last night -Kill 5 enemies with a single Strategic Strike, excluding Poison Gas Barrage Yeah its fun doing the strikes. They take tons of people at the right times. Some of the trophies are lots of fun. I think its easier now with the new patch as you do not have to repsec as much anymore. I'll be on tonight then. I have my characters on different profiles so expect invites.
Choze Posted October 29, 2010 Author Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) The best gets better. New patch. Fixes all the crashes. Move control tweaks. Escalation DLC out 3rd November! £6.29 Includes 3 way team mode. Includes 3 new maps with all new environments. 9 new weapons. If you didn’t get a chance to play it in our MAG Beta, the Escalation add-on supports up to 96 players, or one 32-man platoon for each PMC, as a separate in-game mode that pits the forces of Raven, SVER, and Valor against each other at the same time. The aspirations for each PMC is to earn the requisite number of points before time runs out or, if time does expire, to have the most points overall. Whichever team meets this goal wins the map and additional Shadow War points. Escalation gameplay is set up in two phases: For phase one, all three teams battle to hold the map’s A, B and C objectives — but when any of the three PMCs gains control of two of the three objectives, phase two begins. In this second phase, the original three objectives are locked and a new fourth objective (D) opens up. Now, the PMC that forced the phase shift must defend objective D against both attacking groups as long as possible; if D is lost, then play reverts back to phase one again and the war continues on until we have a winner or time runs out. I'll repeat the Zavvi and Asda offer who are selling the game for £17.95 brand new. Which is cheaper than the second hand places. Edited October 29, 2010 by Choze
Choze Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 MAG does it again. New Multi Queue feature, queue up for several games instead of one at a time. Also XMB screen captures! CP earning is also boosted as many players were finding it too expensive to buy items. Full patch: The most exciting addition, of course, is our new “Multiqueue” feature. A replacement for our “Directives” deploy option, Multiqueue gives players the opportunity to queue up for any or all game modes simultaneously. This allows users to jump into the action quickly without forcing them into gametypes they don’t want to play. All you have to do is uncheck the modes you’re not interested in playing and the Multiqueue will take care of the rest. As an added bonus, we’ve also equipped the Multiqueue with a stackable XP reward that grows in its payout depending on how many modes you’re willing to play! In short, we think you’re going to like Multiqueue quite a bit. Another feature we’re happy to introduce is one that our fans have been asking about for quite some time — the ability to take your own 720p in-game screenshots! To do it, simply bring up the PlayStation 3 XMB, move to the “Photo” section, and find the command to capture screenshots within. Once a screenshot has been taken, you can then find them just as easily in the same photo section. Good stuff! Patch v2.10 December 7, 2010 | 50MB (TPPS), 132 MB (DLS) Gameplay (General) Implemented “Multiqueue” functionality to allow users to queue up for multiple game modes simultaneously Added “Multiqueue” XP bonus modifier that increases as more modes are selected Increased XP to CP-earned ratio to 1.5 CP for every 1 XP Reduced price of Medical Kits to 500 CP from 800 CP Teammates can no longer prevent you from repairing vehicles and objectives when in your line of sight Shortened cooldown times between leadership FRAGOs to 2 seconds from 10 seconds Added “friendly fire” modifier so that allies never receive more than 50% damage when hit by a friendly vehicle Improved item-swap speed Gameplay (Skills) Decreased effectiveness of “Marksman Recoil Stability” and “Marksman Steady Aim” skills Improved effectiveness of First Aid Kit and Medical Kit skills, “Self Heal Speed” and “Heal Recharge Rate” Increased effectiveness of “Improved Smoke Screen Rate” skill Weapons Slightly widened knife-swing arc Interface Enemy vehicles now show damage bar when “attacking” them with a repair kit Slight presentational modifications to the “Character B” and “Character C slots” Correct text now displays in the Armory when viewing the SVER Hazard helmet Audio/ Visual Acquisition Escort vehicles now have unique models for each faction Improved mine-laying animation Miscellaneous Removed “Directives” button from the “Deploy” menu Added “Multiqueue” button to the “Deploy” menu and sidebar areas Added feature that allows users to take in-game screenshots via XMB Photo menu (1280×720) Reduced chances of being randomly dropped from a “Clan Deploy” game Fixed an assortment of menu-related lock-ups “Clan Deploy” performance updates Minor server performance enhancements Fixed typo in “Chest Candy” trophy Various localization updates

Cookyman Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Happy Birthday MAG! Let’s Celebrate! Posted by Jeremy Dunham // Sr. Community Manager, Zipper Interactive It may sound clichéd, but wow, time really flies! It’s hard to believe that it has already been a full year since our massive 256-person PlayStation 3 exclusive shooter, MAG, was released all over the globe. To celebrate our one-year birthday, we’re unveiling a handful of promotions as a thank you to our fans throughout the week. First up, starting Wednesday, January 26 at 12am Pacific Time, we’re changing all in-game queue and “Happy Hour†bonuses to 256% until Sunday, January 30 at 11:59pm. If you’ve been meaning to level up to grab our various “level 60†trophies, our promotional time period is a great time to go for it! Speaking of January 26, all day from 10am-5pm Pacific Time, members of the Zipper Interactive QA team (our best players!) will be online and playing MAG throughout the day. If you’ve never participated in our “Play MAG with Zipper†events, they’re great fun and offer you the perfect opportunity to show us your skills. Our third and final promotion is a special “Faction Neutral†switch for the Domination and Acquisition modes. For the first time ever in MAG “Live,†our two biggest game types will switch from being PMC-specific to being open for defense by any of our three factions. Like our 256% XP bonus, this mode switch will be in operation from January 26 at 12am Pacific to January 30 at 11:59pm. But this isn’t all we’re doing to wish MAG a happy birthday. We’ll also be posting some additional posts throughout the week, including a breakdown of MAG statistics and numbers on Thursday and a special “Five Things You Never Knew About MAG†article on Friday morning. It should be fun. As always, everyone here at Zipper Interactive wants you to know how much we appreciate all the support and feedback you have given us over the last year and we hope you’ve enjoyed playing the game as much as we’ve enjoyed making and improving it. Thank you very much!
Cookyman Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Another big update! Patch Alert: MAG v2.11posted by Jeremy Dunham, February 22, 2011 10:51 am It’s been a few of months since our last MAG update, but it has certainly been time well spent! Since our previous patch released in December, we’ve made a number of helpful improvements that you can enjoy for yourselves starting February 23. The most obvious change in MAG v2.11, and arguably the biggest, is a reaction to the overwhelmingly positive response by our community to the promotion we ran during MAG’s birthday week. In case you missed it, we made our Domination and Acquisition modes “faction neutral†so that players could defend and attack all maps related to those game-types regardless of their PMC affiliation. Our fans enjoyed it so much that we decided to make the modification permanent and so we have! Naturally, there’s more to our patch then just faction-neutrality. We’ve also given our in-game economy a boost with smarter incentives and a better relationship with our XP system. Add to that a number of Escalation, performance and interface enhancements and you’ve got quite the pleasant update. For our complete list of changes in MAG v2.11, check out the notes highlighted below. As always, the patch will be available tomorrow morning during our regularly-scheduled maintenance period, which begins at 1am Pacific Time. Log into MAG directly for additional information, including maintenance times specific to your region. And now, the specifics: Patch v2.11 February 23, 2011 | 40MB (TPPS), 39MB (DLS) Gameplay (General) •Permanently added faction-neutrality to “Domination†and “Acquisition†game modes •Improved ratio of launched game-types when using Multiqueue •Fixed “Escalation†game-type exploit that allowed unintended amounts of additional game points to be earned under certain conditions •The original three training missions unique to Raven, SVER and Valor have been reinstated (Blu-ray version only) •Lessened the likelihood of players moving their aim while performing the “knifing†action with the PlayStation Move Motion Controller Gameplay (Economy) •Earned CP now takes “Bonus†XP into account as part of its equation •Adjusted CP/ XP conversation rate so that lower-level players have the highest yield of CP-earned to XP-gained, with a lessening effect as they gain levels •CP is now refunded when a player has gear they are no longer entitled to removed from their loadout Weapons •Repaired “stuck grenade†bug that would sometimes prevent players from throwing grenades •Slightly increased grenade-throwing speed following weapon-switch (all grenade types) Interface •Repaired icon display issue in “Escalation†game-type that would occasionally misrepresent which team was interacting with an objective •Post-game Squad scoreboard no longer includes bonus XP in its display or rankings •All three factions are now properly displayed for the “Escalation†game-type when using the Multiqueue Audio/ Visual •Grenade-throwing animations are now properly blended and no longer skip •Various camera clipping issues have been addressed Miscellaneous •Subscription character slots B and C are now fully compatible with the downloadable version of MAG •Eliminated glitch that prevented players from earning the “Duteous Maximus†trophy after the 2.10 update •Fixed bug that prevented some players from being vote-kicked out of games •Faction-specific videos have been restored (Blu-ray version only) •Numerous crash fixes and performance improvements •Multiple localization updates
