ReZourceman Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 So occasionally the internet stops working - it says its connected, but cant go on websites or connect the 360. Normally what happens is we hit the reset button on the router and it works fine. So this happened again, and we reset, but instead of the network being called what it was called "Clemmer" its now called like "Belkin blah" and it says its connected but cant access websites and cant go on 360. Thats all I know, can anyone help?
McPhee Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Log in to the Router and check the internet settings are all ok, you might have reset it back to factory settings.
ReZourceman Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 Right, and I do that on the PC that the router is physically linked to?
martinist Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 try putting this IP address into your browser's address bar: 192.168.1.1 it should bring you to your routers setting menu. log in as the administrator using the username and password ADMIN (not in caps) that should let you change the routers settings
ReZourceman Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 Okay, cool thanks guys. I tried last night (not the thing you just mentioned) but couldnt see anything other than the normal thing that I can see, so Ill try that tonight, and you say I should reset to factory settings?
Shorty Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Either reset factory settings or find the adsl details page that asks for a login name and password and use the ones your ISP provided you with. Oddly enough the same thing happened to me recently, normally a reset of the wireless adapter would solve issues, but this time it reset the thing completely, removing everything my ISP provided me with. You get to your router's settings by using a computer that has successfully connected to the router and putting the router's IP in the address bar, like martinist said it's usually something like 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, and the user and pass is usually admin/password or admin/admin.
ReZourceman Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 Sweeeet cheers. Where will what the ISP provided be? In the documents/letter they sent initially? Fingers crossed Ill be back tonight.
Shorty Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Yeah it should be in a letter or booklet or whatever they sent when you started.
nightwolf Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 It sounds like what we had with sky recently, we just had to reset everything and it seemed to be ok.
ReZourceman Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 No luck! Phail. There seems to be a problem with the line as we couldnt make any outgoing calls. The case thickens. I hope its sorted this weekend. EPIC WOOOOOT!
