Ashley Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Apparently people reviewed the tv psych's book on Amazon saying "I've never read it but I'm sure its rubbish." Shame Amazon deleted them. But yay, more mass stupidity -_- lol. "I went on their website and had to enter my age which was easy to do and then there was no adult content". And thats a bad thing? Fair enough if, like some porn sites, you just enter your age and bang you're in then theres reason to address that. Obvious its a pretty moot point.
Rummy Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I heard/read about this through a linked article on Ctrlaltdel's front page, detailing gamers' responses by bad rating her book on amazon. Then looked into it some more. Can you actually not get into the site if you're under 17? Maybe it's just a bit of market research, especially considering the site apparently contains no bad content. I honestly can't believe it happened, I think Geoff argued back some very fair points before bitchface threw some crappy irrelevant research and 'statistics show...' back at him, which is fair, if it WAS relevant. Seems like everyone involved was just going on what they heard, with no research into the subject, which I can't see happening if it wasn't a game, unbelievable. It's even worse that Fox won't issue the apology, and are trying to get EA on the show. I'd love it if they took them to court and won, a big victory for gamers!
Ashley Posted January 27, 2008 Posted January 27, 2008 I hate the 'research shows' argument. You can find any half-cooked research to prove your idiotic point if you dig deep enough. Doesn't mean it can be used.
