Paj! Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 So unsexy. Looks like 3 old trannies reliving their glory days, drawn by Mark Brooks (who I hate).
Happenstance Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 This is why I love the Reed Comics site, was just looking through this weeks new comics and trades and they've just got Justice Vol.1 instock so ive ordered:
Paj! Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Ooh! I have no idea what they're like, but I've always been interested. Although I kinda hate when things aren't concise. It could have just been 2 volumes, or a single volume, being only 12 issues. Just milking it for all it's worth. Now I have money I feel I can finally buy X-Men: Supernovas. I also need the other 2 volumes of New X-Men and last volume of Animal Man, but I've read them all before, so feels like £12 is a terrifying amount.
Happenstance Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Just tried rearranging my bookshelf to get another shelf big enough for my trades, didnt work unfortunately. Im really starting to run out of room on the shelves I use and ive got no more wall space anywhere else for a new bookshelf.
Paj! Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 I bought some comics in town today, which is my new thing, if the comics are stunning. Bought Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis 1 Director's Cut, and then issue 2. Because they stun. And also Storm & Gambit. My 3 fave things.
Happenstance Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Any of you guys still reading Brightest Day then? Who do you think will end up being the White Lantern that Deadman is supposed to find? One of the more interesting ideas ive seen around the net is that it could be Ted Kord We need to do more speculation/chat in this thread. We dont seem to get enough good conversations going!
Paj! Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I stopped Brightest Day. I might pick it up in trade form if I like the idea later on. How long is going on for? I agree with the need for chat though. Dan's gone off somewhere of late...chat's slowed. And also the fact that we won't all be reading the same things.
Happenstance Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I think its 26 issues over one year. I dont think Brightest Day is as good as 52 was. It seems to me that these year long books work a lot better when they dont have to tie in with whats currently happening in the DCU. Countdown seemed to have the same problem. Im still enjoying Brightest Day to a point but certain stories like the Hawks are boring me. Also the less we see of Hawk (From Hawk and Dove) the better, I cant stand that character.
ReZourceman Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I havn't read the lastest issue of Brightest Day, but I think its pretty good. Its just a bit meh. But its cool. Some bits are really cool. ------

ReZourceman Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Oh sweet, the Sinister 666 storyline (renamed) starts tomorrow (Thursday) I think! Does OMIT end too? Is there two issues of SPider-Man My comic book guy just delivered me last weeks comics...AND !!!!!!!!!!!! two bricks of Heroclix Web of Spider-Man and tournament kit.
gmac Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 yeah there's two issues of ASM this week, the end of OMIT and a new story oh and due to the Yanks having their version of a bank holiday on Monday, the comics hit the shelves over there on Thursday as well
Paj! Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I've finally finished X-Men Forever (volume 1 of the modern series) by Chris Claremont, after starting it twice, realising it was shit, and stopping. Skipped out a few issues about Russia, and glossed over some dialogue, but yeah, morbid curiousity pulled me through. I just.. It's so bad. And some people GENUINELY like it. I mean...this is really bad. I though X-Treme X-Men was bad, but this is a new level of shite. It's actually awful. Whatever you say about Jeph Loeb's stuff of late, it's heads and shoulders above this nonsense. It's full of arbitrary SHITE. Rogue and Nightcrawler swap powers. UM. Why? Never really explained or dwelled on - Rogue just learns to deal with looking hideous for the rest of her life? Same with Nightcrawler?! Rogue's power is horrific to have, yet he's so over it. And Sabretooth's crimes in the Morlock tunnels are a thing of the past it seems, let him on the X-Men why don't you? And Storm. God. So needless. And Jean is now a filthy slut/beastiality freak. I quite like her costume though. HATE that they use the old Cyclops costume with the hood, that look ONLY works in full black like his current one - otherwise keep him in his Jim Lee hair-out one. Gambit looks like an idiot, funny, considering lots of people said that of his normal costume, but that beats his Matrix rip-off. Claremont's Kitty-needs-a-claw obsession is in full force here too. *voms* And considering the whole series takes place right after X-Men 1-3, it never mentions where half the team go. Oh and course, the writing is possibly the worst I've ever seen in a comic ever. Unreadable. I've got issue 1 of Vol.2 ready to go, but I'm so scarred.
Dante Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 DCs Logo for the 75th anniversary "Who's Wonder Woman?"

I was reading this outside the cinema yesterday, giggling. DCs Logo for the 75th anniversary "Who's Wonder Woman?" A shit character I'm glad they didn't include. :p HEROCLIX ARE GOING TO BE OPENED IN A MINUTE!!!!!!!!!!!! ----------- I've really enjoyed the Frankencastle era of Punisher and I'm glad Marvel and Rick Remender did it. He is wrapping it up soon. There is an article on CBR, I havn't read it yet, will do in a bit.
Paj! Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 *gasp* Leaving off Wonder Woman?! Putting in Flash? O M G Will she be removed from the trinity?! I'm scared. / in all seriousness, you'd think they'd put her in over Flash. They've just revamped her to appeal to more people. Fair enough GL, movie coming out, everyone loves him now etc.
Dan_Dare Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 The Flash is shit. He's not even got the grace to be a total cockbag like Quicksilver.
Happenstance Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 For me it depends which Flash. While I am enjoying Barry Allens new series I always did prefer Wally West and thought he was a good character.
Paj! Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 How much was that case? I haven't bought any boosters in years due to them now being £9 at Forbidden Planet (only place you can buy them).
ReZourceman Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Pretty expensive, but not £9 each expensive. They worked out at £7 each BUT.....and this is naughty on so many levels.... I also bought an OP kit for £20. My comic guy is good like that. *Eyes up eBay* Which you normally can't even get until you order like....4 cases, which they didn't. Awesomez.
Paj! Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 You're dirty. Also, I've started X-Men Forever 2, and it is suprisingly better. It's all relative, but it's not a complete piss-take. Come on Mystique, you're one of my favourite comic characters. I like the line-up of the Avengers in the 161 (lol) universe too. Cap, Hawkeye, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Thor and Arachne. Of course.
