Munch Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Ok i've added those to my list, along with Old Man Logan and The Killing Joke for good measure. Any more recommendations are welcome. So do any of you have any pics of your vast comic collections or prized items? Show and tell!
Happenstance Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Spider-Man: Blue New Frontier Vol.1+2 Superman: Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow (If you are into Silver age stuff)
Paj! Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Also, We3 is great, a single story not connected to anything else.
Happenstance Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Ivan Reis tackles 'Sinestro' OGN Ivan Reis has revealed that he is working on an original graphic novel starring Sinestro. At the Spotlight on Ivan Reis panel at Comic-Con International, the artist said he was working on the title featuring the major Green Lantern villain, reports CBR. Reis had a lengthy run on Green Lantern before moving on to spinoff titles Brightest Day and Blackest Night. No further details of the project have been revealed. An official announcement is expected soon. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/comics/news/a254557/ivan-reis-tackles-sinestro-ogn.html
Dan_Dare Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Just bought Stark: Disassembled HC for £9.99 on Amazon. Boom!
Paj! Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) I just X-Women out of morbid curiosity. It's everything I hate. Claremont-written exploitative dross. Milo Manara or whatever seems to be lauded, but his work here is at best okay, and usually stupid/laughable. It's soft-core/hinted pornographic intent is just silly. Everyone in thongs/tiny skirts with the wind constantly blowing them upwards, people having normal conversations with backs arched, lips apart, gazing longingly into each other's eyes, the X-women finding themselves holding each other in compromising ways etc. Shiiiiiit. gmac Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 yeah Wolf-Man was pushed back again, hopefully it'll make the shipping list on Friday this week! oh and Daytripper will be a trade worth looking up when the mini ends, quality book!
Paj! Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) I'm actually quite looking foward to Incredible Hulk. I've got quite into Hulk of late. :P It's offering me old-school feeling superhero battles, and World War Hulks has been pretty epic so far. Happenstance, where's Ultimate Avengers 2 issue 6?? That's not out yet, is it? Edited August 3, 2010 by Paj!
ReZourceman Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Looks like Astounding Wolf-Man has been pushed back again ............................................. I'm sorry but its reached the point where there is no excuse. Whats this like....let me see because I've got a video I remember I filmed the week it came out. *Checks* Next week will be 12 weeks. It came out in May and its now August. Ridiculous. Thats 3.8 days to do each page. This is the finale. He shouldn't have even started working on his next project (which he has stated he has started on) until Wolf-Man had finished.
Happenstance Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Sorry Paj I dont read Ultimate Avengers anymore so I wouldnt know. All this waiting for the end of Astounding Wolf-Man is really tainting the ending. Instead of just looking forward to seeing how it ends, im more now just looking forward to it being over with so we dont keep getting annoyed by these rediculous delays.
ReZourceman Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Happenstance, where's Ultimate Avengers 2 issue 6?? That's not out yet, is it? Its out this week. Mark Millars a legend on these. 1#6 and 2#1 came out on the same day. :P
ReZourceman Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Apparently Mark Millar has "the biggest news ever" announcing this week. Interesting.
Dan_Dare Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Apparently Mark Millar has "the biggest news ever" announcing this week. Interesting. That's got to be about Superior, surely? Or his new UK anthology.
Daft Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Was reading Green Lantern: Rebirth last night. Read the first "episode". lol I think I don't like it. I liked Batman in it but...yeah. It's like I'm reading a crappy Marvel comic.
ReZourceman Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Skip it and read Sinestro Corps War. *Waits for assaults* Why do you keep calling them episodes? That's what Rez called them. *Sigh* Molly calls issues episodes and I accidentally said it at the meet, and immediately hated myself. :p Was reading Green Lantern: Rebirth last night. Read the first "episode". lol I think I don't like it. I liked Batman in it but...yeah. It's like I'm reading a crappy Marvel comic. 90% of Marvel comics are better than 90% of DC comics. Fact. Besides, you like Tron. I just watched Tron BTW. :p
Daft Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Yeah, I'm just calling them episodes for the same reason I'm slagging of Marvel. To annoy people. The best comic I've ever read was The Long Halloween. I like stuff like that.
Happenstance Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 See this is why we dont like new people in our thread! (apparently)
Daft Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 But I want to know more about all the funny little picture books you read!! I think I'm going to read either Haunt or Hush tonight. Haunt better be good, Rez. Or I'm going to hunt you down and ask for my £5.04 back!!
ReZourceman Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Thats a good price. And it is good. Hush is pretty poor IMO. Fairly nice artwork though.
Daft Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Hush is poor? FFS. Is it really that hard to write a good comic? I loved Arkham Asylum. That shit was siiiick. The Joker's joke made my day. I told it to my sister. She didn't get it.
