Dante Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Why do comic characters look like the movie stars?
Dante Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I mean Famke Janssen played Jean Grey in the movie X-Men and Hope Summer in that artwork looks like Famke Janssen.
Paj! Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Only very vaguely...And it's really just the eyes. If that. And the others don't look like their respective movie counterparts...
Happenstance Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Plus im pretty sure that is Hope Summers and not Jean Grey anyway
Happenstance Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Looks like theyve been taking pointers from Invincible with the death of Ares (which wasnt a big shock to be honest, I assume his son will play a big part in this later) Also I absolutely love the last page with Osborn and Caps shield reflection getting bigger and bigger
Paj! Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Oh shit, I read that spoile above without even thinking. Oh well. I'll go read Siege 2 now, knowing too much...
ReZourceman Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Lol. I do find that quite funny. Companies are so stupid. Anyway whaddya guys think of this;

Paj! Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I hate Sentry. I just hate overly strong people. I know the writers are aware of his power etc, rather than him just being Superman. But still. I hope he dies in Siege/leaves forever.
Paj! Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Well. There's nothing wrong with it. But it's just too early to have any context to judge against...
ReZourceman Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Oh I read Reborn Finale today. The creatures in his flash forward (lol) look like the creatures in Tony Starks dream. I assume its not a coincidence?
Happenstance Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Latest Avenger unveiled: Lol. I do find that quite funny. Companies are so stupid. Anyway whaddya guys think of this; The main thing I took from that video was that I was suprised how I pronounce Sinestro differently to you, with more of an emphasis on the "e".
Paj! Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Yeah, I always pronouced it SinESStro. With the ess being emphasised. Rather than SINestro like you said ReZ. The official rule is go by the cartoons, but I haven't seen any with Sinestro, and you probs have, so I'll deal.

I think the Green Lantern animated movie pronounced it the way we do and probably Justice League as well. I assume ReZ is just crazy then.
Paj! Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 It's just way harder to say SINiztro as opposed sinESStro. Plus less emphasis on 'Sin" makes it sound better and not like a shitty evil person name.
ReZourceman Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I have the t-shirt, so I must be right. (Shhh) Lol. Guys check out this awesome Wanted/Wanted 2 video on this page with Millar. http://comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=24705 Millar has my favourite Scottish accent/I love watching Millar, he seems like a really cool, passionate guy. I seriously love the dude.
chairdriver Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Well essentially his whole name is based on sinister, so you can't really escape from shite evil-person name connotations.
Dan_Dare Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Oh I read Reborn Finale today. The creatures in his flash forward (lol) look like the creatures in Tony Starks dream. I assume its not a coincidence? I reckon it's a foreshadowing of a new Avengers baddie. Stain maybe? Stark Tech gone bad is his deal, but maybe he's too Iron Man centric.
ReZourceman Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Yeah I'd like something like that personally, and I like the idea of "specific" villains becoming more general villains. Just like Osborn eh.
Happenstance Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I still think if Electro was powered up more and given a bit more respect from the writers he could be a big villian in the Marvel universe. He nearly got it at the beginning of New Avengers but then just became the joke, easy takedown straight after.
Dan_Dare Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 He was pretty powerful a couple of months ago in ASM when he Trashed the DB single handed. Spidey took him down a little easy though. He could definitely be A list though- It's a shame he didn't make the cut for The Initiative, really. He's got the same blue collar approach as Taskmaster.
