I think I'm gonna start. Maybe get a few back issues or something. Or even just *acquire* a whole load. I can never bring myself to buy the first trade in case I hate it.

I might eBay the Unfinished Business arc (most recent one).

Dan DiDio Listens To Batgirl, Makes Changes

At San Diego Comic Con, one thing you couldn’t escape from at the DC panels was the issue of gender. Thanks to one woman (known as Kyrax2 on Twitter) dressed as the Stephanie Brown Batgirl who went to all of the panels to ask question, then follow up question, then follow up question, creating a narrative across the show, asking about the lack of female creators in the new DCU and the lack of prominent independent female characters, something snapped. By the the last panel, Dan DiDio seemed visibly frustrated – this was not the way the narrative was meant to go.

I understand that possibly during and definitely after the show, changes within DC Comics have been made. Female -friendly projects have been lined up to answer this very question. Because by New York Comic Con, no one wants a repeat performance.

We already knew there were other female-creator projects coming up from the DCU, including something by Nicola Scott, lined up for later this year/next year.

But I also have been told that certain female-focussed projects previously mothballed have now been revived and a numbr of female creators contacted as a direct result of the events at the panels of San Diego Comic Con, and Kyrax2′s repeated intervention.

Batgirl, take a bow. You’ve won.

I am now the proud owner of Grant Morrison's entire New X-Men run (in trades). Combined with the Astonishing X-Men full run (in trades) I have, I possess the most definitive/stunning X-Men stores/stories in general of the last decade.

Chairdriver has however stolen my Astonishing X-Men and seemingly lost it. *fake smile*

I can't wait to reread it all again. :)

Yes, I will stop buying them. LOLZ. On a more serious note - my room is going to be amazing. I'm looking forward to having you and Goafer round Happenstance. I am going to project/somehow images onto my comic boxes, i.e. draw Invincible on the Vince' one (or at least, lines with his colour scheme. In fact that might look REALLY cool. Like Blue, Yellow and Black thick blocks of colour lines at an angle on his, then Red Blue and Black on Spideys, etc.) Yeeeeeeaaahhh.

My comic collection is mainly just tonnes of the UK collector's editions I used to get, and they're all stuffed into my cupboard. My trades are now spilling out of the one shelf allocated to them in my unit, but I'll just take over the self above, it's fine. My room is currently in a state of changing around/never truly moved into it before I left for uni. My comics (i.e floppies) aren't taking up space yet, but will do soon, if I keep buying idividual issues, which I plan to.

I like how DC's own website has Batman Inc #9 coming out next week and then issues 8 and 10 coming out on the 24th :)

Marvel posted a trailer for the new Hulk comic

I'm digging the art, not so much the sound of the storyline, sounds a bit cheesy and cliched to me

Have something X-Men-related now I've moved onto Batman.

They're my two essentials in life.

Reading through New X-Men atm, read it through (except the last arc which I've NEVER read, but it's a future thing so I was dealing, even though it told truths) probs about 4 times in full before. God, Igor Kordey's stuff is shit. Like..not in a "I don't like this" way - it's BAD. SUCH a rush job. His BIG pages of a single thing are ok, he's taken his time (like that opening page of an issue where it's Lilandra's drooling face, and that infamous crotchtastic one of 'Auntie Emma' conselling Scott. But his normal panels look poorly drawn, with the colourist having to sometimes finish off lines in costumes with just colour...ugh. Kordey seems to ink his own stuff too on the series, guess Marvel were saving major money with him...bet a different inker could've tidied it up. UGH. Imagine if Quitely could have done it all *dreams*. ALTHOUGH (you all know I'm a Quitely fanboy so this is a big moment) - I'm not sure how epic Planet X would have seemed under his pen. Jiminez I think is probably the perfect artist for that arc, Quitely might not have been as suited (to convey the same feeling). Love Bachalo's bits too obviously.

Finally caught up on a bunch of stuff

Avengers #15 was a gem. Spider-Woman taking on the Hulk is ludicrous but brilliant, sets up some cool character stuff and shows Bendis doing what he does best. And of course Bachalo is perfect for the issue. The Page with the Hulk looming over Spider-Woman with his hammer in hand is so expressive, so demented that it just totally captures the battle in one image. Easily my favourite FI tie in so far.

Avengers Academy continues to be probably Marvel's best book right now. We're all fans (right?) so I won't go on about it too much except that it's everything a team book, an Avengers book and straight up a comic book should be. Perfect.

Schism #2 is shaping up the event very nicely indeed. It's looking like the thing that's causing the split might be Cyclops harbouring Quire on Utopia, which is...interesting. The Hellfire side of the story is turning out to be utterly mental, too. Wahey.

also catching up on No Way Out in The Walking Dead . No discussion plz.

Also! I have decided to start a comics blog. I'm opening up the floor to some name suggestions. Go!
