Caris Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Do you guys make of this? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-049-LC&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=801 Look ok? i don't really know anything about external Hard Drives, or the make.
KKOB Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 LaCie's a good make, and i've been looking at that drive as well. Can't remember if it has firewire 800 though. . .
KKOB Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Aye it does. yummy! Sounds good to me, 7,200 RPM and 8MB cache mmmm.
Guest Jordan Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I hope they're not as bad as those fucking black ones. I can't remember the name, but alot of them fail. Just becareful. All else fails if it does die, its probably due to over heating, just rip it out of the case and use it inside the computer.
Caris Posted August 4, 2007 Author Posted August 4, 2007 Mybooks? And it's for a mac or i would of just added another internal drive.
Wesley Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Do what I do and have an external case where you swap hard drives around in. I have a hard drive with a complete backup and one just with my music.
Ginger_Chris Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Lacie are nice drives, good build quality fairly quiet. I had one for 2 and a bit years, packed in eventually (although funny sounds came out for a week beforehand so I could rebackup everything on it). It did do a fair amount of travelling though, so I completely don't blame them. Unless you get a solid state drive they are all prone to knocks and bumps,i didn't expect it to last forever. Saying that, if its staying in the same spot or being moved rarely, I recommend any LaCie or Seagate (replacement) drive.
conzer16 Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 I just purchased this external Hard drive - http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=318909 I don't really know anything about them and tbh this just looked like a good one
